They didn't do to badly in this scene. However, being a supporter of the stage version, I didn't like how they had him "Lock the door". In the show, it locks magically and swings open once The Phantom and Christine dissapear through the mirror. (The movie humanizes the Phantom too much). Also, I miss the loud thumping bass that escalates when the Phantom beckons her towards him. The bass really added to the drama, and it's too bad the cut it out of the movie score. Just my opinion

yes I realize this, but in the stage version, things he does are mystical and beyond regular human ability, ie: disappearing infront of the audience during masquerade and at the end of the show rather than walking through a mirror. The musical left you with a sense of mystery, I felt the movie lacked in that aspect

@carolineisreallycool when i watched this in the movie theatre, i was around 6 years old. My older sister screamed something in spanish that my family and I will never forget, "AY QUE MALO!" meaning OMG WHAT A BAD GUY x] everybody was cracking up at that point. Literally dying.
