As far as I’m concerned the ford is the only American car manufacturer to make a great come back with the fusion hybrid, focus and Taurus. I really hope those new American cars can stand up in term of reliability to the Germans and Asian cars. My last 2 cars Lincoln and Chevrolet sucks when it comes to reliability ,but im talking about models 2003-2006 ,it seems that both companies are taking off now ,time will tell. For me this is the last chance im giving to american cars,Germans are perfect

I like both the hatch and the sedan. Looks very nice for a compact. Since it should get about 40 mpg highway, that's a big selling point. If the economy improves, gas prices will be jumping again. That will help this and the Cruze sell pretty well, though I'd trust a Ford first in terms of long term quality.

well I think it is simply lame (and dull same time). Ford was simly prophetic with first Focus, they set a new design style for the industry with it and it was brilliant, and then they gradually dissipated the idea with some "fits every taste" updates. Now this is plainly average, no not ugly just average. In 2012 it will look old as well ;). This is not just ford who came with great ideas and then screwed things.

Now design wears out so quickly... so if you want to stay fresh for 5 years production time you have to come up with some serious ideas. Again new Focus is okay, but just average. It will end production cycle in say 2017 (if it hits the market in 2012) and it surely will not be attractive by then. There were cases of cars still looking fresh on their last day on conveyor belt. Look at Alfa Romeo 156, look at BMW 5 (bangle edition), Opel Astra III.

I have been a big fan of these Focus cars since I lived in the U.K., where the Focus was a huge seller. Am glad to see the european-styled model is going to launch here in North America. It is a good looking car, and I am loving the new Ford technology, especially the SYNC system.

In Europe we already had the "nice" Focus. From 1998 till now... i like them al.

The Focus is a compact, competing with the Chevrolet Cobalt, Honda Civic, Toyota Corolla, and Nissan Sentra. BTW, Chevrolet also has a new compact set to compete with the new Focus, called the Cruze.
