  • I was just watching the movie today. I started thinking how much it reminded me of "High Crimes' 2002 with Morgan Freemon and Ashley Judd. I think its a remake! cat

  • Lee Remick must've set mens pants ablaze back in the 50's and 60's. Dam she was sexy as hell

  • I am watching this movie one more time. I just came here to say how much i enjoy seing great cinema lile that. Thank you M. Preminger and thenk you to the cast. Its just fantastic.

  • Duke Ellington :).

  • You notice no example is given as to why someone would say James Stewart was a racist ... the fact is James Stewart was an officer and a gentleman, and a hero among millions of Americans.

  • @nlvideos Agreed. These asinine comments about racism are soooooo boring!!

  • give beer to the dog? alrighttttyyy then

  • whether or not James Stewart was a racist has nothing to do with his acting ability. Stewart's brilliance as an actor can be seen in Hitchcock's VERTIGO and REAR WINDOW, Ford's THE MAN WHO SHOT LIBERTY VALANCE, Capra's IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE and MR SMITH GOES TO WASHINGTON, Fritz Lang's DESTRY RIDES AGAIN, George Cukor's THE PHILADELPHIA STORY, and Henry Hathaway's CALL NORTHSIDE 777, to name just a few films!

  • I'm a lawyer, this was the best court room film I had seen, until I saw "witness for the prosecution"

But I admit this is far more realistic, straight to the facts.

  • @puccini007 I just read the book (cover to cover) in two days. There is no way a film can compare to it. In fact, the trailer has glaring errors.

Manion was too cool to blow up in court, by the way.

  • An overlong and boring film with the talentless bald racist James Stewart.

  • @JuanMacready youre retarted, jimmy stewart was one of the best and most diverse actors of all time....as well as a war hero, rising from private to colonel in 4 years and finally retiring as a brigadier general

and he was by no means a racist, and won several humanitarian awards

  • @jlsmith51 James Stewart was a huge RACIST who played the same part in everything. So glad his museum is bankrupt and will be closing down.

  • @JuanMacready up yours juan

  • @JuanMacready Well now just hold on here a minute! You can't just up and call James Stewart a racist! Its slander I tell you! You sir need to learn your place! Now James Stewart was a fine American and you'll never find a better friend. Never in your life would your ignorance, your unmitigated ignorance, call for such a slanderous outburst against this Soldier of fortune we see here! It's just ludicrous to call James Stewart racist. That’s an insult to his character I tell you!!!

  • Welcome to The Yoopee -where even the dog has a beer!

  • My favourite film in court so far.

  • Jimmy Stewart is great here, nearly cracking up before he gets out his "I do."

  • Otto Preminger...rubbish!! That's Mr. Freeze.

  • I DO.

  • I remember the Beatles-movie "A Hard Day's Night" from 1964. There was a scene in a canteen between a reading Ringo Starr and Wilfried Campbell, where he suggest Ringo to go out instead of reading. Ringo said: "Books are good. You can learn from books". And which book he was reading? "Anatomy of a Murder" by Robert Traver.

It's interesting, Duke Ellington was starring in this movie.

  • 0:44-0:45 the duke ellington band in the courtroom seems like a silly idea for this trailer if you ask me.

  • You have NO sense of irony.

  • this movie also happened near a kid's camp called "Baycliff health camp" that's also in big bay.

  • Judy Garland should have won an Oscar for this- one of her best performances.

  • Judy Garland???? She wasn't in this movie.

  • are you thinking of Judment at Nuremberg, maybe?

  • I like it, the trailer was very original for 1959!

  • I would say it's very original for even today... have you seen a new movie trailer recently? There's nothing original in those just cutting scenes after each after each from the movie... This one is absolutely brilliant

  • This was one of the first movies that George C. Scott was in, the trailer is a little crass but the movie is a true classic.

  • i come from the city where it was filmed :-D

  • so do i! :)

  • Avey smart way of making a tralier of a trailer

  • i love this film!

  • ...Sorry ran out of room below. The Thunder bay In, referred to in the movie, is the hotel in Big Bay, which is still called Thunder Bay resturant, in honor of the movie I would guess!? The movie makers did build-on the restaurant to the hotel, for some of the scenes to be shot. Almost all scenes, were actual locations, including the trailer park which is just a stones throw from the hotel in Big Bay Mi..

  • This movie was filmed in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Mainly filmed in and around the city of Marquette (real courtroom)...& Ishpeming. The Duke Ellington seen was shot at a still operating restaurant call Mt. Shasta, which we've eaten at many times over the years while snowmobiling. The actual murder happened in the town of Big Bay, which is (approx 60 miles north of Marquette). Also, this is where the hotel (still operating) seen was filmed as well the bar where the murder happened.

  • oh i've really wanted to see that. I love courtroom drama!! (: Thanks for putting up the trailer. Lee Remick was very beautiful in this film (=

  • There is only one other that is just as great as Anatomy Of A Murder...Witness For The Prosecution. The twist at the end of this movie...You don't even see it coming, until it happens.

  • the best courtroom film i've ever seen!
