@samridgebag George recorded just the one single with Virginia. The song was written by her husband, who had lost both his legs, and eyesight in a road accident. If you like this recording be sure to check out George's later version with Melba Montgomory,it is even better. As far as i can tell Virginia recorded just one other solo single.
@JodyeD84 Much of my information comes from"George Jones. The Classic Mercury Years" 2c.d.set,with excellent notes by Colin Escott. Also by searching the internet. There is a George Jones forum on the net, which awhile back was looking for information on Virginia.None was forthcoming. If you have biographical information etc.,i will pass it on.
@welshhillbillyful Virgina was my mother in law. All of the info you have is correct, after recording these 2 singles, she and her husband, Bernand Spurlock, later divorced and Virgina remarried and had a son in 1973 (yes the music runs in the family, her son is extremely talented as well ) She passed away in 2008 of Cancer and I think that she would be so happy to see that her music lives on :)!!!!!
@JodyeD84 Thanks for that information.I will post it on The George Jones Forum.Great song. Why did she record so little? She was obviously a very talented lady.
@welshhillbillyful I honestly couldn't tell you exactly why, that it is something I never asked her. Maybe because of her divorce & lost contact with George. I can tell you that about 1 or 2 yrs before she died, Bernard told us that George was trying to get in touch with Virgina but was unable to.
My sweet mother in law ~ How I miss her so :(
