Many of these western icons should not be used for the western rite as they reflect very humanistic heterodox 'catholic"/protestant ideas of the individualist expression of art. I encourage you to read the book "Likeness and Presence; A History of the Image before the Era of Art by Hans Belting" "Byzantine Art and the West by Otto Demus" "The Pictorial Arts of the West, 800-1200 by C.R. Dodwell"
And perhaps your reasons are the small size of the vicariate and less time spent being Orthodox. therefore less educated of of traditions. Often times the bishops are not actively promoting western sacred art in the way they ought to. We shall pray that someday the little WR churches fill their big shows and reflect the pre-romansque frescos and rituals of europe & africa.
A good place to start would be to see what has been done in the ORthodox Church of France. Every effort to stay clear of post-schism, more specifically post-humanism - art form has been made. Of course they are a "non-canonical" Church. But that shouln't stop us from profitting from their experience.
Good 'ol Gregorian chant. The group is called Capella Gregoriana. I ordered the CD from CD Universe. I guess it is Western Rite Chant. It is very difficult to find English language versions. Probably there are no professional recordings. Just snippets like what you find in the homebrew tapes and vids like I have posted. The revival of the WR is a WIP.
this chant is really pretty..i just wish i could hear more of it here where i am...

This is beautiful! What is the source of the recording of the chanting? Is this an example of Western Rite chant?
