  • if i was juggleing and riding a bike at the same time i would be in the hospital for a few months

  • im gonna sub just cause u can do those tricks

  • Wow that's awesome, Im 16 and it always blows me away at some of the awesome stuff you guys did back in the day, bmx has a completely different feel from back then , wish I could been part of old school bmx

  • In front of a police station is the best place to play fuck the police!

  • Same as most of you on here....After seeing a couple of video's like this on Youtube I've also been looking for the BMX I could not afford as a kid! Now this 41 year old is searching through E-bay every day 4 old skool parts to finish her off! ; )

  • I had that same bike in the day...bikes today don't even compare...lol

  • MAN OH MAN!!! I knew I shouldve kept my Skyway!!! I am SO gonna get back into it!!!! Any ideas where I can get a decent bike from or bit to build one???

  • Man it makes we want to take out my Redline RL-20II out of storage and grab my vans and rectors ! nice !

  • Wearing old school Vans too. Win!

  • Another Keith here (in Australia) Great video! I had an 88 Haro Master that was stolen back in the day but I bought another one a couple years ago and also have an unfinished project Master which I hope to make resemble my original bike. I always liked the look of the pink Performers though. You have a very smooth riding style.

  • Is that grip tape on your frame? SICK!

  • @btokoly Yep sure is! Even bought it at a skate shop lol

  • @midohiofreestyler Well, the video and bike is RAD LOL! I'm inspired... already looking for a GT to restore. I was a BMX fanatic... You have successfully inspired me to build the bike I always wanted but couldn't afford when I was a kid... 1987 GT Pro Performer or 1987 GT Pro Freestyle Tour Team Model. Can't wait to ride again! Thanks man!

  • Very good video.... it's make me feel young again and try some tricks on my nephew bike ho ho ho

  • NWA!!!!

  • Good job, man.

  • its a old school BAD ASS woo hoo

  • Thanks for the info, would you be interested in selling any set of coaster brake mags you don't use any longer? If so I'd be very interested.

  • @keithLD50 Nah I just have the one set on this pink bike and I wanna keep 'ek on there. I dont really ride this one anymore its just for show. Skyway still sells them Im pretty sure. Check ebay.

  • @keithLD50 Yes there are a ton of them on Ebay. in all colors

  • Thanks man, got a Tuff II c/b white set off Rini Enterprises for the 89 Detour!

  • @keithLD50 Cool! If you are planning to do any coasterbrake tricks, you might wanna swap out the CB guts with a higher quality one, such as Shimano Type E.

  • N/M my last question on the type of wheels, just saw your comment that these are the newer Skyway wheels with a Shimano hub. Do you know if I could take my black 1989 GT mags that came on my Dyno Detour and replace the rear axle / hub with a Shimano Coaster Brake hub? Wondering if this is possible option to adding a coaster brake instead of buying a new mag wheel set?

  • @keithLD50 If it already has a freewheel set up, I dont think so. You need a wheel that was originally a coaster brake. I dont even use mags any more, I bought a bunch of NOS coaster brake hubs, and had my local bike shop lace one up to a modern BMX rim. I know mags look cool as hell, but they flex like crazy I like how solid rims feel.

  • What mag wheels do you have on this GT? Did you just get a set of mags with the coaster brake already on them? I still have my original 1989 Dyno Detour I got as a kid and really want to put a coaster brake on to do some flatland tricks, coasting backwards now the pedals move in reverse and half these tricks arent possible. It has the factory black GT mags on it now, would I just want to look for a set of mag wheels with a coaster brake assembly already built in like the skyway 80s mags?

  • First time I've seen anyone juggling while balancing on an old school BMX. :D hahah!

  • @PS3xXMTCXx I havent either, I must be unique lol. Believe it or not, its a relatively easy trick!

  • Nice endo dude! Haven't said that in 25 years. Great Job! I could never do the sustained wheelie that guys like you always made look so easy! Oh and fuck that moron who told you to put your seat down, he clearly wasn't even born when we were doing tricks or he's a complete imbecilic moron! Later...

  • easier to wheelie sitting down. that's why his seats up. also it more level with handle bars for if he wants to improvise a trick which means standing on both which means he'll have more balance

  • hes so good at wheelie it looks fake

  • @TheDdub11 I overheard somebody say "that bike must be made to do that" when I was doin a wheelie

  • @midohiofreestyler i can race bmx. i can ride a unicycle very well. but cant wheelie.

  • @johnnyboy922 I can ride a unicycle as well, but rarely do, BMX is way more fun!

  • You are the wheelie king

  • kid put your fucking seat down....

  • @TheDragontamer1000 Kid? I'm 45 years old.

  • @midohiofreestyler how the hell cares, put your fucking seat down

  • @TheDragontamer1000 I like how this low seat thing has become a fashion thing in BMX. Street and park riders run their seats low so they dont get banged in the balls when jumping and to not get tangled up with it during tailwhips. I"M A FLATLAND GUY! I dont do any of that type of riding anymore. I need my seat high for the type of riding I do. Half the tricks I do would be impossible without a high seat. I care more about riding then how my bike looks to some kid lol

  • @midohiofreestyler Yup, you can't have an old school bike without running the seat high!

  • @TheDragontamer1000 who cares if his seat is up

  • where can i get a bike like yours?

  • Is that a freecoaster or a pedal break hub? Ignore my last comment

  • @metallicameltdown110 Its a coaster brake hub. Back pedal and it activates the internal rear brake. Ancient technology but its how I roll haha. Its also how I ride awesome wheelies, watch closely and you can see me using it to balance the wheelie

  • Is that a free aster

  • I enjoyed that, brought back memories, still have a bit to do with BMX today, how things have changed. Nice old school rewrite, Hope to see more.

  • I can hear that N.W.A playing.

  • nice your sick

  • gta sa <3

  • mines modified already

  • my bad performer...same look

  • Love the NWA!! You got guts doing that on a Vertigo!

  • Comment removed

  • @watersport32: go to hotsteeze. com -> it lists like a tone of wake and skate tricks

  • 2 dislikes were by their wives

  • where can i get a bike like that?

  • sweeeet!!!

  • i wish i could do that!

  • Stick ,keep it old skhool

  • I miss my GT Performer

  • those rims are the bomb!

  • FUCK THE POLICE!

  • This is inspiring and depressing at the same time...were getting old. Great stuff man, keep it up!

  • FUCK THE POLICE!

  • teach me how to do that!

  • that was awesome

  • that was amazing bro! i give you major props!!!

  • Not only is your bike/ tricks old school, BUT....you are riding to NWA as well lol. That is the total old school package right there lol. Reminds me of all the time I spent with my friends and my Redline RL 22 back in the day lol. Loved it. Was really cool seeing a "REAL" bike again lol

  • I'm speechless, way cool!!!

  • BEST WAY TO RIDE YOUR BMX BIKE.. LIKE IN THE BEGINIG

  • wow, juggling framestand! never seen that one before! :0

  • trying to relive his glories

  • hey whats the difference with the old bmx bikes and the new bmx bikes from today

  • @ObeyMyMonkey The bikes we had back then in the mid 80's had a lot of style. The one seen in this video, I believe is a GT Performer. They just came in a lot of wild colors and basically looked really nice. Of course the quality of GT bikes was among the best. Other good ones were Redline, haro, Dyno, Skyway, and a few others. I, of course had some crappy "Murray" bike that i put a lot of good parts on, wishing it was nice. Kind of like how kids today put racing parts on honda civics.

  • @Lesrevesdhiver thanks!

  • MIAMI HOPPER PLZ.

  • fantastic Wes! inspiration to a 42 yr old like myself!

  • this guy is good

  • yeehawww the good old times :-)

    really nice bike!

    greetz from germany

  • omg

  • You've still got it man - awesome!

  • i wish i could do that.....just to bust some tricks out in front of my 6 year old lad.....id be the coolest dad ever ha ha,keep up the good work!!! a born again BMX rider ha ha

  • @mozer30 They get used to it. My kids dont ever notice me anymore, they are used to seeing it lol.

  • i have a hutch trickstar

  • man, pretty sweet you can do that 15 years later. im 15, hope to ride for the rest of my life. mad props for the retro tricks too.

  • nice to see an old-skoller still smooth

  • Still awesome.

  • This is the video that made me pull my 87 Performer from the attic and ride it again!!! Thanks for the inspiration man.. 80's rules!!

  • great video! I was impressed the whole time and then you broke out the juggling pins and I was like wowwww!!!

  • Brilliant stuff,keep it up.

All the best from the UK.

  • i hate coster brakes they suck i use freeweel and gyros

  • @Mrairsoftdude117 What does havin a gyro got to do with having a coaster brake? I have both! And coaster brakes are great they are just old technology and don't roll very well. Its a personal preference

  • these is a real biker

  • some one stole my sky blue one 25 year ago waaaaa!!! rad

  • hell yeah gt performer sweet bike XD

  • Shit, i wanna turn back time now where they used to have BIG sprocketz, LOL. xDD

  • @V0iiDMW3 I would like to run a smaller sprocket, but you cant find tiny rear sprockets for coaster brake hubs, and I aint givin up my beloved coaster brake!

  • Old skool has COASTER brakez??? .-.

    NEVR knew that.

  • @V0iiDMW3 Yep many BMX frames of the era even had a bracket welded to the chainstay for the coaster brake arm to bolt onto.

  • at one point it's like. ok you can stop anytime. but he doesn't.

  • This bike is cold. Proper quality and styling from the good "ole"days. I do not like today's BMX's, they just do not cut it for me.

  • damn he does a wheely with no problem

  • @xXxTheMatrix6xXx You wanna see some sick wheelies, check out some of these South American videos I have been favoriting lately! These little kids are way better than me at it, and do it on all different kinds of random bikes. You can tell thats all they do all day long!

  • @makebank93: yea hotsteeze is so sick i use it to find new tricks and shit

  • damn ithought i was the shit when i masterd turning corners with no hands on tha handle bars this dudes does it while doin a wheelie

  • this is awesome man i love this video. makes me want to make a comeback havent ridden since 93. u think it's too late for me at 38 to comeback just to have fun.

  • @bigben1986 I was 40 when I started riding again, so no its never too late. You just gotta be careful and stay well within your abilities, if you dont wanna bust ur ass a few times lol. I cant afford to get hurt cause i work a physical job, so I rarely fall, but I dont push myself either so I never really learn anything new.

  • @midohiofreestyler you are indeed a super influence along with rad dad from texas. thanks soooo much for your advice i truly apprfeciate it BIG TIME, time for me to make a come back and i am. thank you.

  • @bigben1986 Well thanks man, thats a great compliment!

  • @midohiofreestyler Yeah the only thing I'm missin is sime Vision streetwear!

  • @midohiofreestyler Respect to all the old school riders out there. I started riding again about 5 years back after an abscence of 15 years, I'm 40 now. My everyday bike is a Series 1 FIT, my baby is a black, white and chrome '91 Redline RL620. Back in the late '80's I rode an '85 Kuwahara Super Nova. You never forget the tricks or moves from when you were a kid but like you say it hurts a lot more when you fall.

  • @bigben1986 I started riding again A few years back, loving it. I hit the park 4 times a week now. It all comes back man. your not old dude. Major perks man. You start feeling great, looking great, The wife digs it.

  • @Inzanex1 thanks for your responce brother. i need to lose some weight and do my thing. thanks a ton.

  • @Inzanex1 About 5 years ago my wife bought me a Haro Xtrail X1 or something along with the son to try and get him out of his bedroom. The son stayed in his bedroom and his bike got sold. Like you I spent more and more time out on the bike, riding, meeting new riders and making new friends, even if they are a generation younger !!!!!!!!!!!! Because of this me and the wife split up..........I kept riding tho !!!! Lol. Am now with someone who doesn't mind and comes down the park to watch ! Result !

  • @LordDarkCoven Of course, why wear anything else?

  • wow, i just got punched watching this because of that punch buggy!

  • Thats awsome that you kept riding and still got good skills. I use to bmx but stopped when I was around 20 or so and would kill myself now lol been eleven years good job man!

  • @donbishop9 I stopped too. For 20 years! Never too late to get it back man!

  • @makebank93: i thought hotsteeze was gay till i finally checked it out

  • I am a pro at stand up wheelie's and can do a short sit down wheelie but how do you keep it at a steady pace? and to do it with one hand? please reply THX!

  • @manifestivity I use the rear brakes, to keep it at a steady pace. Also, sitting down is the way to go if you wanna ride long wheelies. Having some of your weight on the seat takes the load off your arms, and allows you to do it one handed. I can do it no handed on an old school Stingray. Those are the best bikes for riding wheelies, period!

  • @midohiofreestyler My longest wheelie standing is 3 mins. and 43 seconds. beat that. :P Thanks for the tip ill try it. Heres a trick you should try. Not to hard and not to easy. While riding, turn around and place your back feet on the pegs and face completly backwards. Make a vid if you want! practice does make perfect.

  • @manifestivity Thats really good for standing up! Not to brag but I can beat it lol. I can do a couple miles on this bike and longer on my Schwinn Stingray! I'm very, very good at wheelies and have been for almost 30 years

  • @midohiofreestyler thats sick dude. ive been practicing for at least 4 years on my Haro BMX. It's heavy but fun for cruising. Keep up the vids and make more tricks! :D

  • happy birthday late...

  • happy birthday

  • When i was 16, i've been trying to do the squeeker...now i'm 40 and i still cant do it! Any hint please? You're awesome btw!!

Kindly pm me if you're got any oldschool bmx parts to sell or want to buy,i still have a collection of bmx parts from the 80s, Araya rims, Takagi 3 pc cranks in black/silver and many more. Knobbies in very good conditon.

    Heres my email address:

    ahbosh@gmai.com

    Many thanks

    Bosh

  • @ahbosh Tips for the squeaker: Make sure you have front brakes and they work good. Locjk the brakes to go up, let go when you are pushing back with ur feet, lock them again in between foot strokes. When u get good enough at it, u wont really need the brakes anymore. But use them alot when learning. Also you can correct side to side balance by turning the bars away from the direction the back of the bike is wanting to fall.

  • HAPPY LATE B-DAY

  • @terminater3: yea hotsteeze is awesome i use it all the time to find new tricks

  • my dad still has his old school bike, they are worth ALOT these days

  • is that 86' GT Pro Performer?

  • @smoothaIIoy no itʻs 1987 or 1988

  • Maybe it's because I grew up seeing and trying this stuff, but the new stuff just ain't as cool.

  • just bought a 1987 gt performer almost all original with sky baby blue and white colors!!! it is sick!! im only 14 and im learning how to do flatland ill be there!!!

  • cool video. reminds me of my older brothers tricks. he has a 87 gt tour

  • how old are you no offense but id say 40s and still doing these amazing tricks

  • @imaussenseiter Yep I will turn 45 on tuesday.

  • @midohiofreestyler happy birthday. lol

  • wow man you're awesome!!! i like your bike alot i love that old style can you still buy those??

  • ahahahah that was awsome juggling!!!!!

  • imagine being his son he would teach you all his old school tricks hell yeah

  • So Cool !!!

  • 1988 Performer... That Red is dope...Sickkkkkkkkk

  • cooool....

  • Great to see you still have it. Smooth style too. Keep it up.

  • Nice, every summer i say ama take my GT out and dont. You still got it though mad props!!

  • Nice and smooth keep up the good work.

  • thats was great, how old are you now? i got to try some OS with my 85 rl20. i love guys that can still ride their bmx not just collect them & collect dust.

  • @Hot80s Hi thanks! I'll be 45 in september, so gettin up there lol! Ridin keeps me young!

  • @midohiofreestyler hey is that bike really old or could you still buy bikes like this?

  • @iMoNsTeRBMX Its really old, but they are on Ebay alot.

  • where is this?

  • @MultiBmxmaniac JFK park in Reynoldsburg Ohio

  • @midohiofreestyler ok cool

  • hey i love your videos, just subscribed, could you do a "how to" on rock walks?

  • @burkey426 I'll try to do that sometime, I could do a good one, but I need someone to edit the video for me cause I cant lol

  • @midohiofreestyler can you make a realy good tutorial on how to bunnthop please but a good explanantion

  • @SPTxNiNja11 I'm not very good at bunnyhops anymore. I used to be though!

  • @midohiofreestyler oh same with my uncle he can only whellie......... when he was a kid he would be in bmx doing all kinds of good tricks now he cant

  • @midohiofreestyler also what bike is that? i have a redline proline expert :D

  • @SPTxNiNja11 Its a GT performer, 1988. I can still bunnyhop ok, but back in the day I could bunnhop over peoples bikes. See my other video with all the pictures. Today I can bunnyhop over someone laying flat on the ground but thats about it lol

  • @midohiofreestyler oh thats cool :D

  • Yes I do understand. I was riding from '88 to '92 not really old enough to pull out big tricks but good on vert and flatland. I was able to do most of those tricks in the video but I was young and brave now I'm in my thirties and look ten times before I cross the street, I need to purge that fear. I no longer weigh 120lbs more like 190lbs so I got some pounds to lose before I get freestyling.

  • Totally RAD man! I just got myself a sweet ride, a 1992 GT Vertigo Neon Green with Black Splash paint. I had it as a kid back in '92 when I was 14 and I got mugged for it. Now almost 20 years later I found it online and bought it. Getting it this week. Definitely taking vids and posting. I like your GT Performer. I'm gonna start learning new tricks and old ones too, any tips?

  • @marius1700 My tip is to take it slow at first. And learning new tricks is alot harder in your 30s and 40s lol. Everything you see me doing in this vid was learned and mastered before 1987!

  • fuck all of you guys who think his bike is gay. thats how it fuckin was back in the day. none of you can even do the shit hes doin. i thought it was great dude. do you ride coaster breaks?

  • @RastaryanMarley96 Always have rode coaster brake! Watch closely on the wheelie you can see me backpedal to engage the brake to maintain balance

  • Ahh those were the days !! Give my performer away bout 10 years ago (what was i thinking?).Before it went i had to have a go for old times sake and did some tricks in the street. 360' boomerangs, surffer and finished off with a cherry picker and thats when the tuff made a cracking sound !! don't know if it was me who got a bit heavier over the years or the skyway got brittle? Good times tho ...I'm 41 this week and thinking of building an old skool bike.... I refuse to grow up!!

  • @SavyBajaBuster Yeah 25 year old mags will do that! The ones on my bike are new repro Skyways

  • @midohiofreestyler I have seen the new repro tuff's on ebay, are the made by skyway? Is there much if any difference to the original wheels? I've also seen re-released MX dia compe brakes.....The more i look the more i want to build up a bike. Got into mountain bikes after bmx and just finished upgrading my speciaized xc pro so have to wait a while for the nostalgia trip but i will do it.....

  • @SavyBajaBuster The only difference I can think of is they come with real cheap coaster brake guts if you get coaster brake. But I swapped them out for a Nice Shimano coaster hub...

  • can you vander roll

  • Awesome skils ! Nice 57 Belvedere too !

  • I was never in my wildest dreams as good as this. I'm 40 now and doing a rebuild bmx for three reasons- to piss off kids, to piss off the wife and to piss off my work.

  • BECAUSE IM LOUDER THAN A BOMB!
