Yes to finding a perfect cat or kitten at the local pound or animal shelter. We have taken in 3 strays and gotten 5 adult cats at the Humane Society over the past 30 years. One of the best we ever got lived only 2 years with us because he was in incipient kidney failure; some jerk had sent him to the pound rather than pay vet bills. What goes around, comes around.

Breeding mills of any sort should be outlawed. It is scandalous that while 9.6 million abandoned animals die every year in 4,000 U.S. taxpayer funded shelters at a cost of 2 BILLION dollars a year, animal breeders are allowed to operate!

Shut them down, now! Get political for the animals. Write your lawmakers!
