As much as I adore Don Rosa's stories and style, and tha Quack Pack series, I LOVE this classic Disney. The humour is fun and kind of timeless :D But I do still love these much less than the two first mentioned. I don't wtch these but occationally but I read Don Rosa a lot, a lot, a LOT and gotta have the Quack Pack on DVD...
So, just from watching this, are we to assume that dinner and dancing at a trendy nightspot only costs $1.30? Wow! Wish I lived back in 1945! That's the cheapest date I've ever heard of. Love the actions scenes in this by the way.
that's a good question. i'm sure there were some, though it looks like they borrowed and exaggerated dancing styles from the late 30's and kinda reviving them for this one. also the end of the war in europe probably played a part in the making of this cartoon, so everyone was kinda back to careless themes, enjoying life or whatever was the case^^
hmm, the simbolism here is just amazing. It's frankly a warning against abusing cheap credit. By spending monney we don't have, we pawn the future of our children. But wha do we care, daisy kisses us today, what does it mater our sons will have to toil for food stamps.Too bad these cartoons have been hidden on purpose. Many important lessons can be learned from the past.
@luckjes112 Yeah. I don't know if this is true in the US version of the Donald Duck comics. But the triplets really hate it when Donald takes their piggy bank! Their tantrum at the end of this cartoon short is totally priceless!
@artfan101 It's like they deny these old shorts even existed... Unless they can sell them on DVD, and even then I'd bet they're more popular with collectors than parents.
It must have been so much fun for that guy to voice act that...whatever it is supposed to be that's talking to Donald. :D
