Hi Jessica! I'm an artist too and was truly fascinated by what you were doing on stage! A huge thank you to all the volunteers who made that night possible. It really was one of the most patriotic and inspiring nights of my family's life. Wish we could have been in Vancouver, but this certainly made us feel part of the Canadian party. Fun to watch it again a year later.
Would like to personally thank you for the footage as I absolutely LOVED painting in Barrie that night!! A beautiful memory of 1 year ago today.. thanks so much for capturing this great footage of the painting... that night was special as my family was there watching me so thank you for this video :) wishing you a happy new year.. Jessica
I volunteered to help build the stage for the torch. And help back stage. Those big huge Coca-Cola beach balls they had in the crowd, I blew those up by mouth! All 4 of them-there were 6 of them, but they had holes in them. I was so glad to have enough free time to see them play the montage with coldplay on that TV screen (I cried) and see Bob run through the crowd and light the torch. Today I can barely move from being sore, but I am def. glad that I got to help backstage, a real memory maker!
The man who lit the cauldron (Bob Mittlemiss) lives in the apartment building that I live in. Good for him, an 88 year old man running the olympic torch.
