Good news. Ling still posts in his blog - the last one was from around this summer 2009. <3 He posted a few photos from a one man live they were going to have in Beijing. Let's just say, he was wearing black lipstick again.

I think this mainstream pop rock like "Hai de Nu Er" was just a short phase. They are visual kei again, and still around. Ling said on his Sina blog that his big goal is to popularize visual kei - so that Silver Ash won't be the lone soldier in the genre in Mainland China.

I also miss the visual style they used to have. But we unfortunatly have to understand that the visuals of the 90's and early 2000 is in the past T_T aah the sadness.. Most old, good, great looking visual bands have either disbanded or changed their style to more mainstream accepted :( Very few are left..

Atleast Ling is still cute! And Silver Ash is very talented and still make good music!

they didnt really have a choice though, they were in trouble with the government. Chinese communist government doesnt like visual kei, and they forced them to change.

Yea I know.. But I don't like today's VK. I LOVE the 90's VK and I'm sad that most bands have left it :( I guess it's a generation thing. The bands who used to look visual back then are "too old" to keep doing it and the new generation want to stand out in a different way T-T

Uh, there´re a lot of chinese groups with a bit appearance of VK but the music is pop. Tampoco es que me parezcan muy buenos pero estaban mucho mejor antes que aquí cantando esta estupidez de canción "adecuada para la sociedad china"

Silver Ash really isn't that generic if you think about it. Ling's voice is so gorgeous here. Even though yes, I do prefer the VK thing, his voice has changed and improved SO MUCH.

(Plus, his voice sends me melting in the end when he's speaking, -shot-).

It's beautiful, but I like the songs they use to do. Like gorgeous devil etcetc...

But you can still hear Ling's beautiful voice here, so I'm glad. But I'm really hoping they'll do something harder. But I have a feeling they were pulled back from doing anything way too extreme with their music.
