(Nissan GT-R has 3,8l 6cylinder, where american cars have 6+l V8) Many cars are faster on tracks than the vette, like GT-R and GT2-RS etc. This Ford is modified heavily but stock GT-R would also win ONLY 6CYLINDERS. If you modify GT-R it would eat this car, mainly because of the 4WD. Not to mention that almost every part of the Ford GT is from other European cars. Lotus chassis, wheels=german brakes=italian gearbox+body=brittish

But at the start the lambo is much faster mostly due to the 4wd and this would be much faster on a track where you have to accelerate just small pieces of track. Also just get a nice tuned GT-R and it will kill all these cars on this dragrace and the track. 1000HP Nissan GT-R vs this Ford GT and the Nissan would see a small dot in his mirror

They MSRP'd for $120k, and dealer markup was another $30k..... now that its out of production, you're lucky to find one for $120k. They typically go for $150k at a minimum, and the twin-turbo kit for the car is about another $30k or more.... so you're looking at just under $200k for a 1000hp FGT..... you can get a used Gallardo and TT it for less than $200k. Say car number 1 has 100hp and weighs 2000lbs and car number 2 has 200hp but weighs 4000lbs..they both have the same power to weight ratio but car #2 will eventually pull out a lead from car #1 and that longer they race for the more the gap will increase. Weight becomes less important at higher speeds and hp wins out. A heffner gt1100 would be faster from a roll than a 1100hp lambo but it wouldn't be able to make up the extreme disadvantage off the line in such a

Even the world record holder GT1000 has a standing mile time of 24 sec's at 150mph

I think some people forget that almost all the new lambos are AWD. They'll take most cars off the line. If the GT had 1st & 2nd gears tuned down it would have been a better race. Having 1000hp is awesome but almost useless if you have no traction.
