No, chimps and bonobos are our closest living relatives. Monkeys are a while back. And gorillas, orangutans, and gibbons are all closer than monkeys of any sort. I'm not against her actual point, but messing up your facts is never a good way to make your point.

macaques are sweet. i worked at a wildlife rescue centre in thailand for 8 months. they had over 100 rescued macaques. they seriously have more personality than most of the humans i know.
Now I am sure that narrator is the closest relative to the monkey! She looks like she could give one quite a nip. Has someone removed her canines? I would remove her nails, too, she looks "scratchery"
