i had something VERY similar happen to me when i worked at my old job at New York And Company. Just leave and find another job. Once you do itl be so much better. When you quit itl be like a BIG weight has been lifted off of your shoulders. I was the BEST worker there. I even did the managers job. I basically ran that store. but i got NOTHING from it. no thank you, nothing. And when it was time for a raise, i got a measely 20 cents. STILL being paid under 7$/hour. you need to get outta there!

This sounds like discrimination. You have all the qualifications for a lawsuit. Contact a lawyer and start the process. Follow their rules for now and go about your merry little way, but you need to be the person to let them know that this is not okay. I would even say to use your videos as documented evidence. They provide a timeline for the situation.

You know what, thats sum discrimination. I don't ware allot of make-up, just a little foundation just to cover up some of my blemishes. I could be brought to court because if girls at your job are allowed to ware make-up and eye shadow and all that then you should too with out any problem. I read some of the comments here saying oh just don't wear makeup, they have the right to make the rules so deal with it, etc, and I call bullshit on that. first of all as Nath says it was not their policy when he was hired and second employers do NOT have the right to do anything they want like we gotta bow our heads and say yes'r yes'm! This issue goes beyond makeup and just fyi cali prohibits sex orientation discrimination in the workplace public AND private--I say look up yr local EEOC.

i had something VERY similar happen to me when i worked at my old job at New York And Company. Just leave and find another job. Once you do itl be so much better. When you quit itl be like a BIG weight has been lifted off of your shoulders. I was the BEST worker there. I even did the managers job. I basically ran that store. but i got NOTHING from it. no thank you, nothing. And when it was time for a raise, i got a measely 20 cents. STILL being paid under 7$/hour. you need to get outta there!

its not that i was warned. ive been working for ihop for five years prior to working at this one and wore makeup. it was not a problem for them. so i dont see what the problem is with this one. and its not the guest or managagment its the owners that are being like this. yet they complain but cannot confront what there problem is to my face.. i hope it works out too
