  • How come on GT5 this exact car would sound like an unmodded 1995 Dodge Neon?

  • @d00d1pwn Well, another example how lousy GT5 really is. Almost all sounds are synthesized in some way and that is the reason they sound so lame. And realism ... Uh, bumper car racing rules?

  • it jus sounds lyk a monster....jus pure beauty

  • Why would they put that in there, but not the '70?

  • @directorjustin Well, it's almost the same car. During 1970, sales were higher and there was the T/A-model.. Honestly, I don't know the reason.

Would like to redo this video, because at those times, FRAPS (which recorded this video) slowed down SHIFT too much. That is the reason why this video stutters so much.

  • pretty sad that gt5 won't have cars like this sound anything like what they do in this vid. they'll most likely have all the muscle cars sound like vacuum cleaners again.

  • 425 HP of LIES.

The street HEMI was easily in the 520HP bracket, while the racing HEMI was just a little shy of 600 HP

Love the sound of it too. EA did something right for once.

  • @firebat42 So 425 hp is too low? Maybe. That is what the game/Wikipedia articles and books say. Dont have a dyno so I can prove it :)

And yes, the sound is amazing.

  • @BlackStar250874 No no, 425HP was Labeled in all the magazines and on all the websites. Chrysler just claimed it was "rated" at 425HP for insurance purposes (Gm did the same thing with the copo & yenko camaro's with the 427 engine). This was because they only revved the engine to 4000rpm. But as soon as you put the pedal to the floor, the HP output just kept going up.

Pretty much all of the engines back in the day put out more HP then the were rated at.

  • @BlackStar250874 i think the stock hemi around the 70s were rated at 425 hp making about 1 hp a cube, sound right

  • @firebat42 dodge rated their engines at lower horesepower for insurance reasons. more horsepower=more insurance for the buyer of the car. car companies were chill back then and didnt try to fuck you over every chance they got.

  • @dannyb13579 Totally. Plus all the options you got back then for the cars. Aluminum heads, max wedge intake, higher compression heads, Hemi option etc. Now today you get choice of: Blue? or Red?

  • @firebat42 yeah, really. i do like how dodge has a few engine options today through the base, rt, and srt8 packages on the challenger and charger, but it you don't have nearly as much variety on todays cars. the only way to add horsepower is through tuning and aftermarket parts.

  • @dannyb13579 OF course aftermarket will probably cost you a lot of cash. At least back in the day any old shlub who knew his stuff could put together a hot-rod with scrap parts.

  • that's one car all Mopar/Hemi fans love!

  • how did you get that car

  • The corkscrew could have been taken a bit better, but that wasn't really the focus of the video =/

  • Now they just need to do the 1970 Chevelle SS with a Ls6 454 and i would never stop playing this game.

  • This Goes to all the Need For Speed Shift Drivers . im going to start a racing crew on shift .Only PS3 . Anybody who wants to join can Message me on PSN:Supa-Skull776

  • Opps, buckeye740 is my brothers account, lol. ill subscribe on this one as well. :)_

  • WOW! 3:20 to 3:30 Made my day! :)_ Makes me proud to have my Charger. Thank you for up loading.

  • The funny thing was, 425 HP was just the marketing rated version. The race-HEMI was capable of HP in the ball park of 620. while the street HEMI was de-tuned about 100 hp.

If tuned right (which practically never is) you can get some nasty horse power out of the Hemi, however the 440 six-pack was far better on the streets, and much cheaper too. That's what you get when you give an engineer team unlimited funds & tell them to go nuts.

  • i think nfs shift does better with sound than the GT series, only sound though obviously, not graphics or anything else. I love NFS shift though. One of the best NFS's in a long long time!

  • @Gerold1981 I very much agree! I still remember the first one, which I owned a Long Time Ago.. After that it was just Porsche 2000 and that was mostly it.. Only once played Underground and I hated it..

Too bad SHIFT is only partially perfect, some arcade bits and all that circus environment ruins it for me, but after many mods - it feels like a proper sim.

Sound is good though - straight from the package! These V8´s and some other engines really sound realistic!

  • @Gerold1981 dude need for speed did everything better. the graphics the driving physics the actual shifting and pedal movement in the cockpit of the car. everything.

  • @extracredit100 You are so right! I don't have the latest PC to run NFS:SHIFT in full detail (which crushes GT5 easily), but still it looks ok. One day ago I saw Gran Turismo 5 (it is ok but hugely **overrated**), and it looked very poor in some way (32" LCD).

Shadows are low quality, much like settings I have to use, and there are graphical glitches everywhere. Even car interiors are inferior to NFS:SHIFT. **MUCH** less detail + the fact that you can't even look freely inside your car.

  • oh man the detail is awsome

  • OMG THE SOUND!!!! :D...can't wait

  • @fvboss429 That was one of the reason I made this video ;) - Most other videos here have almost nothing special about the car, they all look alike - But I think I made a nice show about the car, for real car nuts :D

  • i've been waiting for some of these old school rides in a game with these looks n sounds

waht can you tell me about the '67 shelby??? is it cool? ( i have a '67 gt myself, that's why)

  • @fvboss429 Its cool! I´ll do a video today about it... Some nice custom camera angles there too :)
