I don't mean this to be overly critical but I think playing with a pick would add a bit more high end attack to the sound. I don't think a finger player is necessarily the best representation for any amplifier. For the record, I am a huge fan of Jeff Beck, Richie Kotzen and Lance Keltner so I don't have a problem with people who don't use a pick. The tone just isn't the same.

Hey Andy - I use a metal pinky slide too. I've used the same one for 30 yrs - never lost it. It's a little shorter than a normal slide so I can fret (very limited - but it works) with my pinky if I need to. I started with the Duane Allman Coricidin bottle which I actually loved the sound of - but too limiting in a cover band. Have also tried those gimmick slide rings you can turn over - but keep going back to the tried and true metal slide on pinky.
