why does Chun-Li appear in ryu's past at 1:24? I can understand everybody else. From the whole street fighter storyline, it seems like they never really crossed paths that much.

You know, Ryu's head band should've been destroyed so Ken than gave his band to Ryu so it becomes Ryu's new headband, that way it would've made sense, because this game is a Prequel to Street Fighter II, and Charlie should've died too.

Wrong, this game is after Street Fighter II, the thing about Charlie is all messed up, but Ryu's encounter with Akuma was after he defeated Sagat and Bison. Remember the ending of the previous street fighter when Ryu is still looking for a challenge, well that challenge is Akuma and he finally defeats him as Evil Ryu in this game.

SF where it starts.

SFZ Charlie is alive. Ken and Ryu is younger. Ken isn't married as well.

SFII Guile want revenge for Charlie's death.

SFIV Ken is married to Eliza. Guile, Cammy, C.Viper, Chun-Li all heard how Shadoloo came back. Which was in SFZ.

SFIII New set of fighters. Everyone matured.

Capcom even stated that SFIV was after II but before III.

Also remember, Bison was always still alive he finally dies in the Alpha series, however he will always be the bad guy of the series, ironinc because : Akuma, Ryu and Ken can now beat him, even though some people disagree Ken and especially Ryu evolved a lot and thats why Evil Ryu's final challenge is not Bison anymore is Akuma !!.

OK Street Fighter Alpha 2 and 3 ARE canon and they are involved in the storyline. The First STreet Fighter Alpha is NOT canon.

What happens is that, Ryu does kill M. Bison at the end of Street Fighter Alpha 3. This is one of the true endings. M. Bison is REVIVED for Street Fighter 2 by some Shadaloo scientists or something, I forgot. In Street Fighter 2 he's much weaker than he was before according to storyline. In Street Fighter 2 he is killed by Akuma, finished forever.
