OMG they were hittin the ball so hard back then...and BOTH OF THEM were fast. I see why the WTA use to fear them. NEVER IN MY LIFE have I witness the athleticism these 2 girls have displayed on the court. There have been a handful that has shows sparks of this on the court (henin, capriati, clijsters and maybe a few others) but no has consistently had an A game as good as Venus and Serena. But obviously it effected his ability to block, push and chop the ball back into play, we all know its hard work to just push the ball back till an inform opponent implodes. i think when serena was out with the left knee problem in 03 and she came back in 04 a different player a step slower almost but she is soooooooooo intense mentally that it makes up for the "slower" movement

What no, the Williams sister were still dominating through 03, they made the final of Wimbeldon it was the French open that broke them down, Serena lost in the semis to Henin, Serena played real bad.

They both missed the Us open due to injuries and the murder of there sister, Serena missed the Aus open Venus competed bu was knocked out in the 3rd round, 04 wasnt so good for either, they had somewhat of a comeback in 05 but 06 was the worst year ever!

But now they are back on top YES!
