@MoparTurbo05 i wouldnt say that the tc is 'slow as hell' stock, but you cant compar a 4 cylinder to say, z28's mustang cobras, or things like that. Hell, even accords have v6's mostly, and the gt eclipse is a v6. To be underpowered compared to most of its competiton, i think it does a great job, plus its heavier. Boost wakes up a Tc like no other though, rhythmnsmoke here on youtube had one of the baddest boosted tc's i've ever saw. Pro Tuner06's is no joke either. Sex on wheels

@TheREVOLUTION22 Dude, trust me, that engine will handle it! Just make sure you have a good tune and your all set. I've been boosted on the stock block for quite some time and so have many other boosted scions. Look at this tC here. Only upgrades are rods and pistons. Everything else is stock. If you have the funds to build the motor before boosting then by all means go ahead and bulletproof the engine but, it's not needed if your not looking to make drastic amounts of boost.
@TheREVOLUTION22 I ran 8lbs at first then, pushed it to 10lbs. I know of people running it at 12lbs on stock with absolutely no problems. You can't go higher than 12lbs though without replacing the fuel pump. I believe rythmn mention he was going to run 18lbs on his stock block! The recomended starting pressure for your first time going boost is 8lbs. Just make sure you go to a good tuner and you'll be fine. This block can handle alot more than people think.
@ProTuner06 I was going to run 14lbs. But 12lbs on my setup will be plenty for low-mid 12sec passes. Remember, my tC weighs 2550lbs. It will weigh less than that soon though cause I still have to replace the roof, the doors, and the hatch. If I don't make a high 11sec pass on 12lbs, then I will get it tuned to 14lbs. That should be good enough for a high 11sec 1/4 mile pass.
@TheREVOLUTION22 Don't look at it in terms of PSI (boost). 8 lbs on a turbo is not the same as 8 lbs on the TRD S/C. 8 lbs on a turbo is anywhere from 260-280whp. 8 lbs on a TRD s/c is like 210-220whp and only at redline.
@ThatZkid i dunno about 13's, maybe if you shift perfect, got drags, and strip a little weight out, ive got a n/a tc and i run 15's...with turbo it would proly be low 14 eh maybe high 13
@beyond305 i run low 13's on stock bottom end. i hit a high 12 once with radials and 2 step. it can easily be done with just a turbo kit and traction.
THe guy that drives the vet doesn't own the tc... it's his girlfriends car... which happens to be my sisters.... but both cars are awesome.... but the tc is a hell of alot faster now than in this video... :) Great job Justin on building your cars... they are awesome!!
well a little slow on the reaction but props to the tc lol...and a z06 has a 7.0 litre if im not mistaken and if the scion tc is 450 rwhp the zo6 is aroung the same its rated at 505 crank and weighs a ton less with the panels made entirely of carbon fiber and all...how is it the scion got the vette??? But great cars the tc is quite impressive

@osofast1jet maybe if you've done some weight reduction with the tc, but a stock tc has a dry weight of around 2900. Still a couple hundred pounds lighter though. That tC would have to have one hefty turbo to beat an actual C6 Z06. I'm kind of skeptical that it's actually a C6 Z06.

No, a TC beating a ZO6 is not insane. I have one and they really dont feel that fast. I just lost to a Redline ION with a built engine, ported supercharger and a 100 shot of nos; only by a car or two. But a loss is a loss. I didnt mean in my previous message that That TC was not insane fast. It was for what it is. I'm just saying if it took down a supercharged Z06; that would be like stupid fast right?

Turbo on a stock tC with about 8lbs of boost and a base map equals about 100hp/tq over stock and instant 13s. It really is an awesome car to turbo.

I've been boosted on the stock block for quite some time and so have many other boosted scions. Look at this tC here. Only upgrades are rods and pistons. Everything else is stock.
