krauthammer, would never stoop to using the idiotic and uneducated term 'democrat party'. although this video is mislabeled, it doesn't change the facts.
Yes they do, and that's why "TORT REFORM" is no where to be seen, which is one of the only ways to reduce costs in health care...
By-the-way, I'm a lawyer in the middle of a Chapter 655 medical malpractice case myself, so I know what I'm talking about.
The number 1 lobby in the USA is not "Israel" or "Big Oil" or "Big Pharma" or "the Chinese" or "the Saudis" or even "Wall Street"... the second-to-none, most powerful lobby in the United States is the Lawyer Lobby, they, we, control EVERYTHING.
I'm a licensed health insurance broker and agree with you 100%. The doctors also charge much more for those under 65 because Medicare (government) pays them so little. The other major issue of the cost of health care is the Federal Reserve destroying the value of our fiat currency, but that's a much bigger fight that Dr. Ron Paul is taking on. H.R. 1207 is making progess.
There's another reason Medical costs are high. More diseases are treatable, we have genetically engineered drugs, things like monocolonal antibodies. They can manufacture human proteins.
So it's not uncommon for a Rx to cost thousands per month.
Its strange that Obama doesn't seem to know anything about the medical system.
The "European health care utopia" (that doesn't exist) that is touted by the ignorant socialist libs does not have the burden of our legal system. So if the libs love that system so much, tort reform should be a major point for them. I wonder why it isn't? Because their ethics stop when it threatens the friendly trial lawyers who are parasites on the system. Either that or they are ignorant, which is actually very likely in many cases.
For those making fun of how Mr.Krauthammer looks...HE IS A QUADRAPLEGIC...has been since he was in college (it is a miracle he is still alive), He still gat his MD, became a a psychiatrist and has won a Pulitzer as a conservative (a miracle in itself)...so stop it with how he looks and listen to what he says
this guy is absolutely right....trial lawyers completely own the Democratic party. In the 2008 elections lawyers/law firms gave over $43 million to Obama, ranking 1st among all other industries contributing to him. face it these politicians don't work for the American people - they never have and never will unless people start to wise up.
TylerNull, Jeeez , wow! I am speechless, really, big business loves democrats?, what planet do you live in? or what psycodelic something have you taken?!!
Except 85% of the world's lawyers don't live here. And even if they did, that would be like saying "there's a reason 85% of the world's PH.D engineers live here".
The answer is obvious why they do... because we're the largest GDP country in the world with most individual liberties in tact. And the best educational system.
@Feandil..85% of the world lawyers LIVE in this country. The reason that they live here, is because we do not have "LOSSER PAY SYSTEM" that the rest of the world has. Your reasoning is flawed, we do not have 85% of the worlds GDP, and 85% of doctors or engineers DO NOT live in this country.
"Law firms aren't big businesses." -- you're not the imbecile you're posing as. Rather, your mental dysfunctions are the spawn of your indefensible politics.
Because Dems are in control now. Now both parties are owned by corporations. Republicans can't just point fingers at Dems when both are allowing special interest to run teh country into the ground.
I find it interesting that you would jump past the unmasking of a decades long fraud, where Democrats from the teachers labor unions to the so-called free press keep portraying themselves as the party of the little guy, while portraying Republicans as the party of big business; that you would then immediately try to explain WHY the stats show what they do.
I'm not equivocating. You are. To point ONLY to how special interests have influenced one party is misleading. I am saying that both are equally disingenuous. Both parties portray themselves as speaking for the "little guy" but actually are the tools of big business. And when a party is in control, it gets more from corporations. That's just common sense and pragmatic for lobbyists. Instead of being outraged at the whole system, you demonize one party when both are at fault.
Your deception makes a baseless implication that two years ago, for example, the percentages were reversed.
Big business LOVES regulation (barriers to entry). Thus, big business LOVES Democrats.
There is but ONE party that proselytizes their political mythology to children for 12+ years. There is but ONE party who owns the federal monopoly of training facilities and the labor unions that run them. There is but ONE party that has a 90% rule of media. Democrats.
Big business likes things that are in its favor and dislikes things that are not. That's no surprise. Drug companies liked the Republicans when they passed pro-drug company bills. Your argument doesn't make sense. You are saying that both big business and labor unions are controoled by Dems. Don't large businesses and labor unions inherently have different objectives?
Actually that is not entirely true. Whatever party is in power generally gets the most money across the board. Except for social issues like abortion, and gun rights/control. Businesses tend to waffle and choose to give the most money to those in power.
However, when it comes to lobbyists (side note), companies and PACs often hire firms which will hire one lobbyist for both parties (usually while in committee).
I would be inetrested in knowing what the statistics were when Bush was elected and there was Repubulican control. Corporations don't care about party--they care about their interests.
I am actually interested in facts. Without providing any evidence to the contrary, you just summarily dismiss that big business has at any point favored Republicans when they obviously have.
Every tax payer should go to the TEA parties and make the leaders answer the real questions - Are you going to be treated the same way as I am? in all aspects of life?
Rothschild Dynasty control our corrupt gov., all banks and all corporate hitlers, they started ww1, ww2 and soon ww3. the debt bomb is in play now, 34 million Americans are on food stamps, 14 million are out of work!
Our justice system is 100% corrupt! Just-us for the elites, you only get as much justice as you can afford, this country needs another Boston Tea Party!
He took a shitload of international money too. So in addition to paying back: the unions, wall street, Acorn and MoveOn he has to pay back socialist countries with our sovereignty.

Here is the rub, try to get one of the bastards to represent you pro bono when you can not afford their rates! Now why do you think the majority of us do not get represented?
Yes, both Dems and the GOP care about their lobbyists and who gives them Millions in contributions. I don't see your argument, it's OK for the Dems to be owned by lobbyists, unions, and lawyers because the Republicans are owned by big business? Neither is good. Gov't needs to be reeled in, smaller, and less intrusive in our lives. Period. This isn't Europe thank god.

It's a shame. We need to rid the corruptiopn in D.C. and get people who won't be bought off. It will get worse before it gets better, but it has to be done. The politicians are the ones that make the cost of everything go up with all their payoffs with our money. they're bought. It's goteen way out of hand. It's become a big cancer cell, WASHINGTON D.C.
The screamer is almost as stupid as Biden for not spinning this obvious fact. The supine MSM would have been happy to continue to play hide the pea with this little nugget, but Howard made that impossible. Now the MSM has to just spike this comment while they continue to work to pass Obamacare.
The entire Democratic party is a criminal enterprise. Every Dem political leader should be thrown in jail, their union thugs should all be beaten, and their lawyer goons should all be disbarred.
Thank You Howard Dean for the truth. If there was more of it maybe we could have a serious debate in America about true health care reform.Without the truth and all the political posturing it will one bitter pill and over half of America WILL NOT swallow it.
Well, here is what we have going for us: Despite Leftist propaganda, the fact is, kids don't vote. Obama won not because of "rock the vote", which gave him maybe a 1 point bump, but because conservatives were largely uninspired by McCain.
Conservatives do vote, when they have any reason at all to do so. And now, clearly, they do.
