5000 mostly on MUSIC? You do realize there are tons of amateur artist who are more than willing to create something out of scratch just for fun? (okay, not a whole orchestra, but with computers nowadays you don't need them)
It was pretty much just for fun/experience. It actually costed quite a bit more to do the festival circuit and get the film output, (This podcast was recorded before we did any of that.) So if we do make anything off of it, it'll just go to help paying off those debts.
Four years eh? Well, that's about as long as I spent making my feature... though I didn't nitpick myself as much on the fine details or getting everything looking 100% perfect. The live soundtrack looks (well sounds) great... But I'm more of a fan of getting more film done in that length of time.
It certainly looks well polished, if you want to make longer productions there are ways to streamline your workflow, especially now that you have one under your belt.
Luke, just FYI...I am not going to Hoopeston and waiting in line for 7 hours to see this at midnight when it comes out. I might pay somebody to wait in line for me though. Maybe. --Rotgut
WOW! 4 years! haha, i want to make a 4 or 5 minutes movie and i dont want to spend more than a month. And what an awesome band, is an independent company that makes the music? seems a really high quality movie...
Thanks! I'll do a couple of podcasts on the music, but the quick brief is that there were actually 2 groups. The Millikin University Jazz Orchestra and the Austin Wind Symphony which is the one in the video. I was a music major so I've played in both of the groups and was able to pull some strings. We recorded everything ourselves and the music was written by Chris Reyman.
it 's 4 years of challenging and
I think that if you're not love it you can't do it
so 4 years with thing that you love is not waste
very thank you for sharing this fantastic and funny animation

Wow man, 4 years and $5,000, was this just a fun project or did you get paid for your efforts?

Great work never the less, I thoroughly enjoyed it more than anything Pixar has come out with.

Im putting the finishing touches on a 4min animation tonight. And ive done it all in 20 days. *eek*
So.... It was fast to make, and cheap... It cant be good. Lol
But its good enough!
