He isn't playing bass as much live because first off your vocals are better if that's all you are focusing on, and second adds more energy because John isn't forced to be in one spot where the microphone is. A bit of research on your end would have done wonders.

We were front row all day at Uprise and had a great time. We met Skillet at a meet and greet earlier in their tour and my 14 year old was talking to Jen Ledger about his band. At Uprise she waved to him during the Disciple set and went to her drum set, took off one of the drum heads, signed it and had Scotty (tour manager) bring it to my son. "Jen wants you to have this and good luck with your band." I couldn't believe she remember him!!! Needless to say the kid was SO GIDDY!!!!
