  • @stopbeingnice The song is called " Funfe Ta " and The artist is Habib koite from Mali ( West Africa).

  • This music FLOATS. it's Rips through cultures, and tears down travel boundaries.....

  • is that why i feel like i am astral traveling when i listen? i can't get enough....

  • I saw this show . . . great energy but Jazz Alley squeezes in two short sets which is unsatisfying. I saw the full show in 2005 on tour and it was FANTASTIC!!! Catch the band at a venue which allows the full show!

  • amazing music. there;s so much warmth, smoothness and rhythm all blending in ..african music at its best..thank u guys

  • Hey can anyone translate his song Din Din Wo into English?

  • din din wo means "little child"

  • Reminds me of The Bhundu Boys. If they're from Zimbabwe aswell i'd say it was 'Jit'

  • I luv this...this is real music

  • God bless them!!!

  • Yeah i got them on my PC with vista I like the rythm what is exactly this music

  • One of the best live performers I've ever seen. The rhythms blew my mind!

  • Habib and his band are amazing! I first heard them because two of their songs (Liilte Child and Your Wrok) came pre-loaded on my new computer, I love them! Can anybody tell me which country they are from? Do they have CDs out that I can buy?

  • they are from mali, and indeed this is great real music! love it.

    Xx

  • I have been lucky enough to have seen HABIB KOITE & BAMADA (my all-time favourite group from all musical genres) live several times (but not in "Accoustic Africa") and love them and their music greatly. They are all magnificent musicians playing wonderful music, and ultra-magnificent MAHAMADOU KONE, whose playing I absolutely adore, is THE BEST Tama (Talking Drum) player and percussionist EVER! Thanks for a nice long video showing some of his talent. This song is called "Kunfeta".

  • Habib and his band are my fav African musicians. When I was a little bummed because I thought the other 2 musicians would be taking Habib's time. Silly me. They all played together in various combinations as well as with their bands. It was one of the greatest shows I've ever seen/heard and I live for live music. First heard Habib at NO Jazz Fest in 97 and have been completely in love since. People were just BEAMING like I've never seen walking out after the end of AA show.

  • CooooooooooooooooL!!!

  • great!!

looks like the brazilian (from bahia) artists... :)

    much good

  • I just saw Habib, Vusi Mahlasela and Dobet Gnahore in Berkeley, and it was amazing. (Dobet is the drummer on the right, and she is very sedate compared to the conert I saw). One of the best concerts I had ever seen. Amazing musicians. Amazing heart.

  • Nice. Can't wait to see this man in concert in DC next month. Thanks for posting.
