I just rolled over 300,000 on my 7.3 powerstroke and my dad is working on 250,000 with his 5.9 cummins. They are both good trucks, but everybody has their favorite. Stock, the Ford has more hp and torque. The 12 valve is not chipped though, considering the fact that you can't put chips in them. I bet both have aftermarket parts and I would assume that the ford is chipped, but I don't know how the dodge beat it then. Power: Ford Reliability: Dodge (unless you get a 7.3)
@basborsboom A friends father bought a 2011 HO 6.7 with a 418hp tune on from the factory. Even had a ATS built transmission behind the Cummins. I'm pretty sure that 418 hp and 950 lb-ft trumps the Scorpion. Even has a 15 year/300,000 mile warranty on it. The LML may be lacking the Scorpion in power, but the Allison 1000 suffers less parasitic loss than the 6R140 which is why the LML will outrun a Scorpion.

6.0 are crap unless you rebuild the head. The headgaskets never last in those things an if your gonna do that you mine as well do injectors upgrade the ficm and slam new headers in there along with pistons an rods. All in all workin at Poncis the 7.3 is greater choice for the power stroke. Haven't seen a new scorpion motor in yet. But heard it's good.

I havent heard anything about the 6.7's being crap, but I haven't heard anything that stands over the 7.3. If your gonna buy one, I'd go with a 7.3. there cheaper and get better mpg than all these egr and dpf crap.

i dont know much about diesels but i do know when sumthings fast. there is a 08 f250 4door 4x4 6.4 diesel truck around here with a single turbo,exhaust,intake and i dont know what else i think nitrous and it runs low 12s! its a fully loaded daily driven truck on 35" mud tires and 20" rims. sick sick truck for sure. its amazing how far diesel pickups have came in the last 15 years. my father in law had a 90 f350 7.3 non turbo and it waa a slow dog but would pull anything!

my cousins turbo just went out on his cummins and it has less mileage then my PSD (btw millage is roughly 240k on the cummins and 250k on my PSD) so who will out last who also 12v and a 7.3 are the engines both are the supposed best but as you can see the 12v came up a tad short.
@5prrw150 both are number 1 and 2 in the diesel world. which comes first is debatable but either engine is amazing. our f550 just blew its second 6.0. now that engine comes up more than a tad short

@FordsAreSick11 It depends what you think is "better". By personal experience with 3 out of 4 those engines, the faster ones are 6.4, 6.7, 6.0, then the 7.3. Most reliable, is 7.3 6.4, 6.0. I havent heard anything about the 6.7's being crap, but I haven't heard anything that stands over the 7.3. If your gonna buy one, I'd go with a 7.3. there cheaper and get better mpg than all these egr and dpf crap.

cummins is made for pulling? cant tell you how many times ive seen people trade in their cummins for a powerstroke due to the fact alone that pulling heavy loads ford cant be beat. Dodge doesnt own cummins. The duramax....well i wont get into that piece of shit

Actually cummins is made for pulling, duramax is for speed, and ford just tries to keep up. My buddys family owns a concrete buisness and they have had fords and dodges, the powerstroke bogs down everytime they would go to pull the forms but the dodges (which is what they use now) dont even feel like there is anything behind em

i dont know much about diesels but i do know when sumthings fast. there is a 08 f250 4door 4x4 6.4 diesel truck around here with a single turbo,exhaust,intake and i dont know what else i think nitrous and it runs low 12s! its a fully loaded daily driven truck on 35" mud tires and 20" rims. sick sick truck for sure. its amazing how far diesel pickups have came in the last 15 years. my father in law had a 90 f350 7.3 non turbo and it waa a slow dog but would pull anything!

my cousins turbo just went out on his cummins and it has less mileage then my PSD (btw millage is roughly 240k on the cummins and 250k on my PSD) so who will out last who also 12v and a 7.3 are the engines both are the supposed best but as you can see the 12v came up a tad short.

That is also why ford diesels have a bad rap there are so many out there that there is alwyas a ford in the shop somewhere. I personally drive a 24v cummins but i was actually gonna by a obs powerstroke instead just couldnt find the right one. Both great trucks though
