I can't believe back then in late 80's I had this huge crush on Shiela and my sisters always poked fun at me and my feelings toward Shiela.Few times I met Shiela at one of my sister's boutique in KL but never had guts to even say hi to the object of my desire(Shiela).How time passes by so fast..it's been 22 years now..and I am still single..haha pity me..My be I shall at least meet Shiela once if I happen to go back to Malaysia.

Hi malphy. After watching this music video on YouTube, I actually went to 101 Bukit Bintang to asked about the CD. Unfortunately, it's no longer available there as well.

From an acquiantance on YouTube, I learned about a 1985 Sheila Majid album called Wanita, which was released only in Japan. On this album, Sheila re-recorded her previous hits, including Nada, with new vocals & new music arrangement/production.

Shine's music arrangement is almost 100% like the Nada track on Wanita album.

Correction:

'Wanita' CD was released solely for the Japanese market in 1995 not 1985.

'Dimensi Baru' was the one released in 1985, not 'Wanita'.

Luckily for me I've got ALL of Sheila Majid's Japan-exclusive albums namely 'Sinaran', 'Aduh Sayang' and of course 'Wanita'.

'Sinaran' includes 3 English tracks:

1. Hasrat Cinta (the title remains in Malay)

2. Overtime (Tua Sebelum Waktunya)

3. September Shares (Antara Anyir & Jakarta)

The Wanita CD has a more R&B, relaxed, polished urban sound similar to her Ratu album.

It's a loss for her fans, including myself, that she makes albums like Wanita, and the English mini-album so limited edition.

Another excellent track from Sheila is Tiada Tandingan, a collaboration with the now-disbanded Poetic Ammo, which only available on Poetic Ammo's albums & Sheila out-of-print compilation album called 15.

About a year or so ago, someone who is a young 20 something White midwestern woman approached me knowing that I hailed from Malaysia, to ask if I can lend her any of Sheila Majid's CDs. She told me she discovered Sheila Majid from youtube and she bagan looking for a Malaysian in our town. Hence, our meeting. From then on, we became friends. She visited Malaysia in December 2007 and brought back several Sheila Majid's CDs. Her favorite is Langenda.

The original Malay version is much preferable to this English version. Somehow, the English lyrics do not fit very well into the overall structure of the song. Perhaps, they should have hired a better lyricist. Nonetheless, Sheila looks cantik dan ayu macam selalu dalam video ni.
