EDM Type R doing 0 - 60 in 6.6? I don't think so. The previous Type R (2004 - 2005) did 0 - 60 in 6.5, and it weighed much less. Adding 1 horsepower does not make up for the CTR going off of it's old diet.

Also, the JDM CTR was designed to be rigid, as it was a track-inspired hardcore/enthusiast's car. Which is exactly why the better of the two never made it to Europe, or North America.

uk type-r has driven in wet too. if these cars would have tested in a dry track uk type-r should be closer to the jdm. because uk type-r hasn't an lsd so it's traction in wet condition is poor when compared to the jdm with lsd. but 3 second difference doesn't show that uk type-r doesn'^t earn the red 'h' badge. it's just unlucky because jdm type-r is very fast. even it's faster than lamborghini diablo on the track. at least this uk type-r is faster than the old civic type-r on most of the tracks

I really like the JDM but it runs on 100 RON fuel, where you gonna get that in the UK and how much would it cost? I think the UK Type R is getting a bad deal that it doesnt deserve too, its got far more kit than the JDM, its quicker around the track than the Golf GTI (Fifth Gears favorite Hot Hatch) its also cheaper to buy, more reliable than pretty much everything, and much better than an ST when it comes to fuel costs (that is one very thirst car)

I own a JDM CTR and you're wrong about the fuel. It can be run happily on 97 RON, but I would advise running it on 99 (any Tescos Super).

Also, the UK Type-R does deserve it's bad press. It's a Type-S in a Type-R's clothing. A masterpiece of marketing over engineering. UK Type-R's have lost their way.

3 seconds round a 1.20 lap is a lifetime. Also, in reality, the JDM car did it's lap in damp/wet conditions the UK car did it in 90% dry. On a dry lap the JDM car was actually 5 seconds faster.

The FD2 ECU is set up to run on 100 RON, so Yes it will run on 97/99 but not to its full potential. And yes 3 secs is a long time on a track, but in the real world we dont drive on a track, the FN2 was driven in the wet too, and how do you know it 'was actually 5 secs faster' on a dry lap??? speculation indeed....
