Hey do u have the 6 CD changer in your armrest?? Because I have a 2006 Jetta 2.0T and I cant find the AUX jack and mine has navigation but the AUX jack is not in the armrest because thats where the 6 CD changer is. Any suggestions where it might be??
I'm from Brazil and will be in Miami/USA in February and would like very much to buy a oem navigation system for my Jetta. However, it's been really hard to find a place where I can buy it. Would any of you able to help me? Thank you
I'm surprisingly okay with the ATM-style keys used to navigate the menus. I am not really satisfied by the (lack of) processing speed when using the device.
I also don't like the very limited iPod integration, they didn't spend enough time on it.
That being said, I do really like this navigation, but the new one (RNS-510) is SOOO much better.
Is that the model number for the nav system in the 2008 GTIs? 2007? If you say it's better I'd like to ensure I get it with my new GTI (that I'm looking for as we type). ;-)
It is not in the 2008 model. It *MIGHT* show up in the 2009 GTI, but you can find it in the new Tiguan or watch a video of it by searching it in youtube. It does a BUNCH of cool things: Play DVD movies, built in hard drive, SD card reader, actual iPod track names and playlist navigation, touchscreen, way better navigation display, and much faster processor.
Ok, last question, I swear! Is it easy to find the RNS-510 and have it installed AFTER I buy a GTI with just the stock deck? And still get all the functionality? Or am I better off getting the current nav system and then replacing it later...? I'm hoping to buy a GTI in the next 30 days. Thanks again!
agreed. But the benefit to me is it likely won't get stolen...like what happened twice in my old car w/ aftermarket stereos.
I posted this because there was scarce information on the vw nav when I was researching the car. I figured people should be able to see it for themselves before deciding.
Another benefit is the integration with the MFD, the one thing that the AVIC can't do.

@skullcandy071 My AUX jack is in the glove box. It's usually there for most cars.

Now that you've had it for a while, would you say you like it? Disklike it? What do you think is great about this nav system and what do you hate?

no offense but that nav blows... get an AVIC D3 instead.
