There's a very famous article in the journal "Nature" about this. They used Scotch tape in high vacuum conditions to produce X-rays. The X-rays were so strong that they could actually make X-ray images with them.

If you take a regular hard white lifesaver go into a dark room look in the mirror put the mint in your mouth and as soon as it's in your mouth start to chew fast with you mouth open. And you will see light. :)
