how do you get your horse to lope so slowly? My horse (Arabian) lopes like a freight train!! Never slow, always fast. He is always collected, but very, VERY fast

Ik how u feel! I really enjoy riding a pony that is half arabian and omg she has alot of Get up & go! Shes really fast & naturally I learned arabians are just fast lil turds but you can train them to go slower it might take more time but it is possible. I have tried to go slow but then she just ends up taking off like a crazed pony lol. So I try my best to keep in control and go w/ it as much as i can =)

Can you get your horses to stop with out a bridle or any thing?

I Loved how at the begining your horse almost ran into the fence. Its not amazing but if you get your horse to stop by just sitting and saying who then its not half bad.

I think being able to lope bareback proves that the rider has balance and the fact bridle-less proves that she can communicate with her horse. Round-pen or not, it is an accomplishment worth recognizing. So quit making yourself look more morose than you actually are.

Yes she has balance and yes she is communicating but only by telling the horse to go forwards! Just look at the vid! the horse even ran into the bloody fence lol some control. Well, lets see the video of you doing it any better. After all, if it's so easy, surely you could do it yourself. It takes time and training to build up to the level you deem "amazing." She wasn't asking for your praise her riding skills, so like I said don't rain on her parade. It is quite an accomplishment... small pen or not, you have to start somewhere.

I told you to do that, only because you'd be doing yourself a favor. =)

squeeze with your legs put your heels down ad far as u can and dont balance with your reins.

if you squeeze your legs you wont be able to use them and your butt is more likely to bounce off the horses back. your best bet is to just sit deep and practice practice practice, soon it will become second nature and you will be able to sit with no prob. ;)

haha, its not so easy for some of us who have jumpers when they have fast jumpy gaits. all the horses i ride are to fast and sensitive to do that. except for on gelding i im training, hes a perchron X so he has a nice big back. to bad hes a bucker!
