I also feel as though I have a duty to defend the freedoms of people all over the world and not just the ones that look like me. All I wanted to do my entire life was make a difference for the greater good of mankind.

My brother is destined to Iraq... he loves this song... i didn't understand why until i asked. He told me this song doesn't insult his country, the armed forces, or anything he's part of... but instead he told me it made him realize the sacrifice he and many others are willing to make for OUR FREEDOM AND OTHERS. After that, I heard it again... all I could do is hug him because he proved to me he knew what he was doing and why. so before anyone talks shit again... just think.

Ok...so I am a soldier...and yes...things like what they talk about in here do happen. But us soldiers are not mindless killin machines. For ex. the verse about having to shoot the women. I guarentee you that is the last thing any soldier would want to do, but if its what needs to be done to ensure our safety and the safety of our buddies, the it has to be done. I guarantee you there isnt a soldier anywhere thats done it that isn't messed up by that though. Put yourself in their situation...

performed this song in front of many war veterans, some looked oh so proud, but some hung there heads in shame. The little kids looked at me and stared, some cried but the rest couldnt understand. War is devasting thing and isnt to be taken lightly, its alright to say stop war and let there peace, but sadly there are so many things to be done before there is peace. god bless and rip to all innocent ppl that have died on account of the worlds leaders sitting at a desk who got to go home that nite

I think a lot of people who are listening to this are missing the point of the song. It's a song that challenges peoples illusions about the war, it points to what has actually happened in that hellhole called Iraq.
look up Abu Ghraib if you want to see the kind of horror being committed.
look up the number of Iraqi civilians that have been killed. for every American soldier who has died 20 Iraqi civilians are dead.
