  • Wow this is a really good commercial

  • Extremely impressive video!!

Whaling definitely has to be completely stopped!!

Hopefully these efforts bring about the wished for changes!

  • as soon as i heard the ban wasnt lifted i was excited. but im dreading next years meeting when it starts all over again

  • what's this song?

  • @jemapellebrandon The song is called "New Ice Age" by The Horrors. It's on their 2009 album, Primary Colours.

  • what is the name of the song.

    whaling sickens me!

  • Oh MY God!!!!!! No, we can't let them. We just cannot!

  • I love everything about this, the idea, the music, the stenght of the message & Alice being on it.

  • Agadir in Morocco? Can someone run this down for me as I have no idea what Agadir are being accused of or supporting. I'm bewildered.

  • this made me cry.

    very powerful message.

  • We have stopped the ban from being lifted but the fight continues now to stop IWC agreeing this week to allow Greenland to kill more whales for what it claims are needed to feed indigenous peoples. WDCS has unveiled proof that this meat is ending up in restaurants, city supermarkets and tourist hotels. This has to stop - keep your e-protests coming in....

  • Be KIND to whales !

  • the whaling ban doesn't matter, with the way things are looking now, with the recent oil spill in the gulf of mexico and the way humans continue to abuse the planet, i think everyone should be focusing on the bigger picture not just on whales, just my opinion though.

  • who sings the song in it?

  • Agree with the message but Agadir is a beautifull city.

  • the 'click here' to sign petition is not working.

  • boycott japanese food,

  • This appeared as a related vid on a game trailer it's even shows it as related to this

  • So the IWC, scared that WDCS and other NGOs might affect their discussions with a bit of truth have decided to close the meeting to the public, media and NGOs.

Nothing good comes of secret deals

  • Great Video.

  • Amazing. Brutal. Powerful.

  • Awesome film - take action now and sign the e-protest. Safer than throwing yourself in front of a japanese whaler!

  • AMAZING and powerful video!!! Save the Whales people LIKE this video! Send it round x

  • what song is used? please give credit

  • Brilliant stylish film. Edgy and to the point. Let's save some whales!!

  • Awesome film - keep up the good work WDCS!

Now it's up to us all to sign the e-protest - go and do it NOW - it's a hell of a lot safer than throwing yourself in front of a Japanese whaler!

  • Very powerfull and hard hitting stuff x x x

  • Why should whaling be banned? Is there any scientiffic data showing that the whale species that are endangered?

  • @bjarkih1977 it was banned in the first place do to the fact that several countries (mostly Japan) were hunting whales relentlessly w/no limits. Once several species became endangered this ban was slapped in their face. Truth of the matter is that if this ban is removed these many endangered whales will become extinct. They will cull the oceans empty. Greed is so deadly. Also, Japan has been directly responsible for making tuna fish a threatened species and will be endangered soon.

  • @bjarkih1977

The minke whale population size that Japan hunts on in the Southern Ocean is currently described by the IWC as being unknown. There are two models that are being looked at by the IWC Scientific Committee and whilst both models are thought to be equally robust, both show that the population appears to have halved between the last two IWC surveys.

In the north Pacific, the J stock of whales that sits between Korea and Japan is hunted and is down to a potentially 400 whales.

  • @bjarkih1977 It's not necessarily about whether the whale is endangered or not (although Japan do hunt Fin and Sei whale, which are endangered). It is the fact that these whales are killed in an extremely cruel way. They are shot with a harpoon in the head, which often misses the intended point. It can take up to an hour for the whale to die an extremely painful death.

  • @khurit clearly doesn't get out much...

  • We need more of these videos for sure!

  • Powerful! I am spreading the word and putting my name to the protest!

  • Great vid, great cause - lets do something about it peeps!! Sign the protest!!

  • Great video!! SAVE THE WHALES!!

  • nice work

  • Fab video!! SAVE THE WHALES!!!

  • Great video. Signed the e-protest. Let's hope common sense comes before politics on this vitally important issue!

  • Very powerful message. I hope the IWC listens!

  • I live in hong kong. We also have a facebook group to talk about Shark.

Why people whaling? Because of profit.

However, do they thought about when they are in the sea alone and surrounded by Shark. Who saves them?

  • @PastaDruid The moratorium is a legal provision in the IWC's Schedule which sets catch limits (quotas) to zero for all species. In fact the relevant paragraph 10(e) does not actually mention the word moratorium. In contrast, the Chairmans' proposal sets whaling quotas and states that if there is a conflict between provisions in the proposal and provisions in the existing Schedule, then the proposal prevails.

So the new quotas prevail over the zero quotas and QED no moratorium

  • Very cool film! Get's the point across superbly and is so hard hitting it made my stomach turn when I realised what the words were actually being painted with

  • Really good propaganda. You even managed to get the lie in there that the vote is to lift the moratorium. The vote is to close a loophole and give the IWC control over the currently uncontrolled quotas of Japan, Norway and Iceland. It most definitely doesn't lift the moratorium. Try make a video that tells the truth and maybe people will listen to your message, but once you start lying people will assume your whole message is a lie.

  • It is obvious made by professional filmmaker. However, I must support Alice Dellal, and Christopher Eccleston. If Japanese knows how is model and narrate of this video, they lose Japanese market.

In film industry, Japan Market is a large profit-making. However, before justice, this 2 artists tell me what is the real done of a human being.

  • Powerful stuff. I've clicked on the link and sent my e-protest and would advise all who see this to do the same. It takes seconds to do.

  • 100% support. It is very hard to believe that japan still has whaling.

  • @shirliechau Yes, and now the IWC wants to remove the ban on whale hunting within US territory as well. We must stop this.

  • Thanks for posting!

  • Fantastic video! Fingers crossed that people listen!

  • Great video!

  • This is Great Work!! Time To Post!

  • Excellent, well done to the team. Hope it makes the countries attending the IWC see some sense.
