i go to ccms charles carroll middle school i used to got to cooper lane elementary school yep i remeber dis video i was in the 5th grade or was it 4th i waz one of those and we had to watch it to so called motavat us (says it in a sassie way) and now im in the 7th grade
IM IN THE 6TH GRADE FOREST HEIGHTS RIGHT NO AND WERE DOING ANOTHER M.A.S SONG TOMOROW THEY MUST HAVE DONE THIS IN 2009 AND THE GIRL IN THE FRONT SMILING SHE MY GIRLFRIEND NOW
I think they did a helluva job. These kids are two steps from GHETTO SE. I know because I live 1 step away from it. Whatever gets our kids stimulated and wanting to learn something besides having babies, smoking weed, and hanging out with Nuke Nuke and the boys. Give them a break. Help build them up.
I can not understand why an educator would even consider choosing Lil'Wayne's "Lollipop" as the background music for any kind of video made in a school. I do not support censorship but I do support decency in children's lives. Not cool.
Obviously, you've heard the lyrics as well, just as everyone else, including the students at Forest Heights. As an educator, your number 1 job is to teach students, how to prepare for, and navigate life through knowledge, so why not change a negative into a positive? Now instead of singing lollipop, our kids are singing let the knowledge drop! Very cool!
@uptonogood2009 ....optimism is the way to look at it...lil wayne's song lollipop seems to be degrading to women(so they say but most of' em still dance to it knowing the lyrics) but they turned a so called degrading song to a positive one....let 'em shine....why must it all be a feminist thang???? lol
Congratulations to Forest Heights Elementary. A job well done to Mr. Charles Robinson who wrote the lyrics and the Circle of Hope for producing the Video. Lastly, kudos to the students for expressing themselves through song and dance. I am proud of my school.
Students of Forest Hgts. I've never heard the song Lollipop by Lil' Wayne so I have no idea what "uptonogood2009" speaks of in his post. Nor do I care to find out. I only know that the students did a beautiful job with the song and video and we at Oxon Hill Middle will share it with our students to inspire them to "Let the Knowledge Drop". We CAN accentuate the positive and eliminate the negative. I didn't hear anything negative in the students' production. Keep up the good work OWLS!!
ignorance is bliss. the video took a lot of work, no doubt. kids were motivated and inspired. i'm just saying, the choice of music could have been more appropriate for the age level involved. sorry kids! i'm on your side.
Kids were motivated, and inspired. You are really selling the point of the video. Kids singing about taking they're MSA's, and being inspired. As you debate the merrits of in your words "overrated artist", and their lyrics. Kids in our school have a motivational tool, to get them ready to take their Maryland shool assessment test. In the future I will be happy to review your song and video, or even work with you to create your vision, but for know I'm gonna LLLet the knowledge drop!!!!
Incredible job by T. Merrifield at Forest Heights Elementary School in PGC, inspiring kids to do well on the State test. Same uniforms as we have at Carole Highlands. Great WORDS-- We've got to get the lyrics out now so the kids can sing along the next 2 weeks! Great video and dancing.

i think it would have been cooler if the kids came up with their own sounds instead of using some overrated artists' work. give kids the power!
