  • Well I have a Toshiba Qosmio X305 Gaming laptop and mine does the exact same thing I think it's a video card Failure becuase I usally have 2 screens hooked up at one time and the other screen glitches out when ever my laptop does it

  • @aquachris4343

i had my laptop connected to another monitor and i still got the black screen =O(

  • @Sunnygirl305 Yea Mine does the same thing

  • @aquachris4343

so you think its a graphic card failure?

  • @Sunnygirl305 Well, It's the only thing I could think of.....Because the video completely goes out....I'm not an expert but usally when the video fails it's a Graphic card failure.....I'm not sure there could be somthing else causing it.

  • @aquachris4343 Maybe a software issue lol I have no clue

  • @aquachris4343 hmmm i dont understand then... i took it to best buy and they ran tests and told me everything works perfectly...

  • Have you tried to plug it into a different wall socket?

  • @Dhowlan

only the ones in my room, i never tried another room

  • The type of adapter you need will be in the laptop user guide. If you don't have one, visit the HP web site, and key in the exact model of your laptop. Look for the accessories.

  • @Dhowlan

i bought a new adapter, same info and everything, and i still have problems =O( i wonder if its the plug INSIDE the laptop that may have the problem..? or is it something else?

  • Well, I'm guessing that when your laptop was checked by the experts, they used their own adapter to connect it to the mains. I think the reason it worked is because either your adapter is broken, or the fuse in the plug has blown. If it's a sealed plug, there's nothing you can do but buy a new adapter. Be careful to get one that's designed to be safe to use with your specific laptop. If you can unscrew the plug, open it up and replace the fuse...with an identical one.

oh i see... hmm yeah i would have to see... i know i left my adapter with them but maybe they used their own and never tried with mine.. thanks! how do i know where to get the right adapter for my laptop? what info do i need to look for?

  • Have you checked the fuse in the plug that connects to the wall?

  • @Dhowlan

how do i check for that? to see if there's any cracks, broken, or visible wires showing?
