WMG are fucking idiots. This song is a classic that can no longer be bought. What is the point of blocking it if you are not going to re-release it? Fucking Knob Jockeys.
I have been listening to house music from the start. This is the national anthem of all house music.I guess a track this great is getting a lot of attention by not playing it at all. However, a certified househead will find a way,no matter what royalties are involved. This track does something to the body and mind when given the full treatment.........This is house music, and WMG cannot stop it,no matter what......
The fact that this track has been disabled by WMG is a flat out shame. If there is royalty issues WMG should simply give back the music to its owner - we are in the year 2010.
Let's be real... its a great track but I'm sure after a few decades of its existence sales for this track are low and only desired by a few people (i.e myself and people on this thread). This brings me to my next point. If WMG is not willing to let us hear it, should we then not play it at all... ie. never share it with others (from a listening point of view). Not sharing here = not wanting ANYONE TO HEAR the once known "house anthem of earth people"
@Netinterspace honestly, if you have a video that was slienced by WMG, you can have the sound back on. I had a video using Biggie 'Going Back to Cali' turned off. I appealed it and the music is back on.
IS THERE ANYONE WHO HAS THE DUB VERSION OF THIS SONG?? WITH JUST THE BACK-BEAT. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. I owned the wax back in 1990 and have been searching for it. Thanks a million for this.
Ah man! Bringing back memories of Newark, circa late 80s early 90s. I just heard a clip of this from a NJ House sound documentary and it made me miss the east coast.
Wow this definetly was the jam that "set it off"!! on the dance from zanzibar to red zone to kilomanjaro's and let's forget soundfactory on friday night then off too after hours at japan...househeads never forget..lol
Thank you very much Kuota51 for posting this marvelous track. I learned about it's funkyness on the dance floor somewhere between '91 and '92. I even recall asking the DJ what/who it was. He told me...and after a night of heavy buttshakin' I forgot all about it...until now.
I just contacted him facebookwise asking him whether he wouldn't sell it;-)
"Shout out to the big girls, hey. Shout out to the big girls, hey. Shout out to the big girls, hey. Shout out to the big girls, hey. Shout out to the big girls, hey."
omg, found it! this is another favorite classic house banger along with HOT... I use to kill this track and back in the 90's my motto was and still is (had a shirt) dance or die lol!
NORAKKKKKK!!! the philly parties had totally slipped my mind. i first got into the scene at a rave in san fransisco where the house scene hit at first... philly was the closest thing had to the frisco rave scene. NYC joints were off da hook but nuthin was like philly and frisco undergroudn. the kiddies hearin todays house beats missed out on the real shit and good ole days lool
nanna look up the MTV party to go series from early 90s i think. the song was in one of those compilations im sure. was huge back then but cant remember the name. its called gettin old. good luck
Can somebody help me find an old school house song? (A dj said it was old school but he couldn't remember the title or artist)
It starts off with a woman talking saying something like: put your hands up in the air and move them to the side and back two three four five six seven eight and back etc,. It sounds kinda jazzy too. HELP?!
Now you need to stop! You Tube Can't handing this all time classic House song. This reminds me a The World, The Tunnel, The Underground, Mars, Sound Factory, Red Zone in New York. Zanzibar, Club America in Newark. Paradox in B-More, The Baseline, Silk City, Black Banana, Tropicana, Temple and Univ. of Penn parties in Philly!
It still is b...reminds me of MARS in NYC with all the house heads grooving...lots of dreads in da house in the circle you had to know your shit to get in there and fuck with them niggazz
I remember back in the late eighties, I went with some friends from work. They thought that I was going to be the only one they would let in. Turned out it was the opposite. Every one got in except me. The security guards weren't hearing it. After waiting around for another twenty minutes I just bounced and went home. Looking back now I wonder if they were real friends?
That happened to me once at Save the robots in alphabet city. I got in but my cousin and this other dude that I was with did not so I walked back out again. Never ever tried going there even though it was a legend of a club back then....
Maybe it's lucky if you can track down the VERY song that sucked you into a whole movement, but this was it for me! Back in 1990, this short little disco dub inspired me like nothing I'd ever heard before and, 18 years later, I still love it, and never get sick of it. Love to Joey Longo, thank you, man!
you from DC too!??! Where did you lurk? You could always find me at Chamber of Sound (before Deep Dish got big), Fifth Column, Zei Club, Tracks.. OMFG! Tracks was Da Bomb!! that place was crazy fun..(esp. on Sunday for black gay night, Cedric would put everyone into a frenzy) too bad they're all gone. :(
