  • Looks painfull as hell

  • But u would rather put silicone up ur vagina hole?? And plus ur still sitting in ur blood, it's just a different way you are..

  • this is just another thing hipsters are doing so they can sit around and brag about it to eachother. what about all the chemicals on your face with all that makeup eh?

  • @leahg357 trust me, i hate hipsters. they are just pot headed hippies that think they're smart. my doctor recomended it to me cause i've had some complication. they. are. amazing.

  • R u high?!?! Pads r easiest and u don't have to put anything in u

  • I tried a diva cup. I ended up in the hospital. a condition called vasovagal reaction, a bruised cervix, bradycardia, and shock symptoms. PLEASE BE CAREFUL.

i recommend cloth pads as an alternative.

  • Can you use it if you have an IUD?

  • I kind of agree with hef18, tampons are completely difficult for early period starters because their vagina isn't wide enough yet. I coudn't even use one until I started having sex, the silicone stuff is MUCH wider than a tampon, so not everyone can even use it. Also quite a few people are also allergic to silicone. I also had a problem with different kind of cup like that and it would fall out when I was running.....talk about YUCK!

  • News flash? How long have people been using tampons and pads, and nothing's happened? Your telling early starters I stick something up their vagina that's basically the same as tampons, but plastic. Personally I think that's just gross and could stretch in out even more. Sure it's more sanitary , but why are people making a big deal about it NOW? Why didn't they say something years and years and years ago?!

  • They have created pads and tampons to help you, not kill you. People have used them for years and nothing ahead happened

  • i purchased a lunette menstrual cup and really regret it. it works but it's not for me. it sucks because it's a really cool product, all of my friends use it and i'm stuck still using gross old pads and tampons. :-/ i think everyone should try it though.

  • Is the diva cup water proof?

  • I've used a diva cup for a little over a year and I LOVE it. It's so great to finally to be free of tampons and pads!

  • I wouldn't store it in a ziploc - a breathable holder is better so that it doesn't breed bacteria and/or fungus.

  • ccan i find this product like at walmart or a dollar store or do i have to order it?

  • I'm a guy... Why am I watching this??

  • i dont understand whats so bad about pads and where can u buy them

  • @Daisukiyo she didn't swear at you...

  • you can also wash them in vinigar...

  • It sounds promising, but how does it fit? lol

  • How do u insert a diva cup

  • @reian41 lol

  • that looks like it hurts to put up there

  • @shufflingzombie11 lol yeah, I'm still not entirely sure how you use one

  • Thank you so much for posting this! Only having to change it every 12 hours is super promising! Do you just wash it in the sink?

  • Thank you so much for posting this! It seems really promising that you only have to change it every 12 hours. Do you just wash it in the sink?

  • Tried it. Freakin love it!

  • where i can find them in my country , i'm from uruguay

  • I just bought mine!!!! I LOVE IT!

  • Looooove the diva cup!

  • I don't think I'll ever use a period cup

  • This sounds like a good idea, but being a teenage girl, who goes to a public high school in the US, and where the bathrooms are always crowded with texters, talkers, and class cutters, this isn't the best idea for me... I'll stick with tampons and pads for now! But I never realized they were bleached, thank you for that info.

  • @Zefhyra You only have to change it every 12 hours so even if you go to highschool, you don't have to empty it until you're at home again :)

  • @Daisukiyo i've never had to change my cup at school! i used to think i had a really heavy flow! but it's actually because tampons really don't hold that much! cups hold a lot and it's safe to keep them in for a long time!

  • @Zefhyra Most people only need to empty the cup every 12 hours (like @Zefhyra said), but even if you have a super-heavy flow, you only need to dump the contents into the toilet, then re-insert it. You do not have to rinse it off until you get home. With some practice you might find it more sanitary, comfortable and practical than tampons or pads!

  • whoops, I meant "like Daisukiyo said" haha. #fail

  • stupid person.

  • BTW, to people who have never tried it, you can't even feel it once it is in. And it doesn't sit in your trash can and stink like tampons and pads do. I was worried it would be nasty to take out, but it is a lot less messy than tampons. You don't have to touch any blood. Besides, I hope everyone is washing their hands after using the bathroom anyway!

  • I use a LadyCup. I love it. I can't stand wearing tampons. Great job on the video!

  • Mom: Hey hun im going to the pharmasy would you like me to pick you up some pads? Me: NOO!! Mom: tampons? Me: NOO!! Mom: then what would you like! Me: A DIVA CUP! .... Il pass lol

  • @katrinaandariana Well one day you will be able to buy your own. :)

  • honestly? how GROSS is it to leave your blood (that is even blood your body needs to throw away, it's trash!) inside you for up to 12 hours? that's disgusting! if you want to use pads, invest more money to buy the better ones. and if you want to use tampons (what i do, becaus it is the most comfortable and less disgusting methode, my opinion) than buy not the cheap ones. i use o.b.. and there do exist biological-tampons!

  • @MissAllAndNothing have you seen what's in tampons? and how much crap your pumping into your body? the organic tampons are 2 to 3x the price so the diva cup makes sense. a

  • @CoolBeanSquadron wellm i even do not want to know what is in the plastic with that they make theire ladycups.. btw, i know that the american tampons are more worse than the europeans.. there are tampons in europe who do not set any dangerous or chemistry things free and into your body.

  • @MissAllAndNothing It's not made of plastic it's made of medical grade silicon the same stuff used in pace makers and artificial heart valves. I'm guessing the European are probably a lot safer since they do hold things to a higher standard over there but in Canada it's not the same.and as for the whole leaving blood inside you thing, that's what tampons do except they can give you TSS or a yeast infection

  • @MissAllAndNothing Even the most pure, chemical-free tampons create garbage. Think of all the tampons and pads you throw away in a month...a year...ten years? Besides that, all tampons are drying and can cause small scratches inside you when you remove them. A cup helps you keep a healthier internal environment.

  • @MissAllAndNothing Even if you didn't use any sanitary products, your blood would still be inside you. It doesn't come out of your vagina instantly, it slowly drips out, so there's always blood sitting inside you when you're on your period.

  • A nice comfy soft obsorby pad or a cup that holds ur blood and makes it move around, I know what sounds more appealing!!!

  • looks uncomfortable....

  • shut up.

  • @CoolBeanSquandron Welcome to my world!! Lol yeah, my mom's first language is French too and she spells better than that ;)

I think it's texting that teaches kids bad habits...

  • I will say about this to my grantmother :D

  • I love your hair in this!

  • @DavidGuetta1212 I am not sure who I called rude, but I certainly wouldn't be ashamed of it. I act in a way in which I would not be ashamed of my actions or words. :)

I call it like it is.

  • Is this comfortable?

  • @purity4all the first time I tried it I hated it to be honest but the instructions said to try it for 3 months, so I thought "fair enough" by the 4th day it really grew on me and now I would never even consider switching back

  • save the tampons for vodka soaking...

  • okaaayyyy.. why would someone want to put u CUP up there vag?

    i know i dont

  • lady tht is just like a TAMPON but way way way way harder 2 insert i no cuz i tried tampons r way smaller and wut if ppl dont wanna insert anything up there yea they wear pads!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @savanahliriano It's not harder to insert. It actually goes in more easily than the usual tampons I used. If you don't want to use it, go ahead and use pads or tampons, I don't really care what you or anyone else does, I'm just trying to inform girls and women who may not know about cups, and who feel they are limited by the current more popular options.

  • @savanahliriano And it's just so sad that in your videos you seem like a relatively happy and nice person, but through your comments you're so rude and hateful. What was it that caused you to be so angry at me and swear at me? You need to learn self respect, and respect for others. Your parents would be ashamed of you. I'm ashamed of you, and you're not even my child. Learn some self control and keep your anger in check.

  • @Daisukiyo im usually not like this ehem its mood swings or yea watvr ive been having diff moods 4 3 weeks

  • @Daisukiyo and u say that she is rude u should be ashamed of yourself

  • @savanahliriano they are a little tricky at first but it's nothing a little practice can't fix, that said I totally understand people who just don't like internal devices, personally I use a combo of the cup and the cloth pads

  • @savanahliriano it's not that hard have you tried reading the instructions and actually practicing a few times

  • And during sports? I play field hockey and volleyball and as you can imagine it is UNCOMFORTABLE & causes me worry that im splashing around my blood in my vagina. A pad is the best way to go, it gets every angle, easy to throw away, and if your responsible you dont keep it on long enough to have it so full that it smells or touches your vagina.

  • @Bibabesz What? It was uncomfortable? I personally never feel mine once it's in place. I'm sorry you didn't have a good experience. However, I am EXTREMELY surprised it filled up. I find that really hard to believe as the average woman loses 2-3 tablespoons of blood during her WHOLE period, meaning over a period of 3-7 days. And the cup can easily hold probably 4-6 tablespoons.

  • I honestly gave it a try, but honestly it filled up too often. Maybe every 3-4 hours. I have work and school I cannot keep going to the bathroom everyday, wait for it to be empty to be able to empty the cup. Honestly women shouldn't be ashamed of her period but NO ONE wants to empty out a cup of menstrual blood and lining in a public place and then go wash it. It especially leaked a number of times during my sleep, obviously I sleep at least 5-6-7 hours a night. Not a good investment

  • I love the cup but I hate the DivaCup. I don't like the hollow stem. I use a Lunette.

  • @Hadra568 yeah didn't like that either, it met it's end at the end of some scissors

  • @CoolBeanSquadron

I was tempted to do that, but I was scared of turning my cup into a funnel. LOL

  • @Hadra568 lol yeah that would be no bueno. but you would have to cut out the whole bottom to do that. just cut right were the hollow part starts and it will be fine

  • but ever if your at a public bathroom or a school bathroom and you have to change and clean your cuppy... and like you have to wash it off and ewwwwww..... no one wants to look over and see a smelly bloody cup full of va-jay-jay blood.. gross

  • @lololo728 Have some common sense and read other comments. This has already been addressed.... unelss you go to school for 12 hours at a time, you can clean it at home or find a private bathroom. Open your mind a little, and do some investigative work before jumping to the wrong conclusion.

  • @lololo728 Since you can wear it for so long, it's not terribly likely you would need to empty it in public. I would just make sure it is empty before I leave the house and not empty it again until I'm home or in a place that has a single stall bathroom so no one else would be there to see the va-jay-jay blood. I think that shouldn't be too much of an issue.

  • I have yet to get mine. I've decided to look around some before buying one online, but I'm excited, yes excited. For all these prude comments, bashing you just for your opinion is so immature. Shes trying to help you, and have you informed..If you really think that its natural to put bleach into your vagina that's just going to absorb it, you clearly have no worthy advise or two cents worth posting...Great topic and informational, I found nothing about it grotesque.

  • Lol

  • I never knew this type of cup existed.. interesting information.

  • I'm 13 and I wear tampons. They are easy and you can't feel them. I would rather stick a little thing of cotton inside of me then stick a cup inside of me?

  • @chatchick124 for a lot of women it's 3 birds with one stone, it's healthier, cheaper, and better for the environment

  • You're a saint for responding to ignorant comments so nicely. I never understood how people make the connection, I don't understand it...so I should be rude about it! Education is a powerful thing.

  • Just a lil comment what about the early bloomers they don't know about tampons or the diva cup honestly I want them to keep tampons and pads around but they just need to stop bleaching them if people don't like it then they should still have the diva cup for the people who dont like it

  • @thegirlsugar22 Yes I agree... keep them around for people who prefer these methods, but at least stop bleaching them.

  • I'm currently pregnant, but I have wanted to get one of these for years, maybe it's time to just go ahead and purchase one for the future :)

  • Eww. Haha. :P Not for me. I am a proud Pad girl. And FYI. And they don't have proof it is better for you. And if the problem is sticking things inside of you. Pressed plastic is worse than anything bleached. So that makes a PAD the best choice. Nothing goes inside. :P

  • @hiImDay Nearly every sentence of your comment is false.

  • I have to say, I am proud owner of one, and I am pretty happy with it. It´s a Lady Cup although I would actually recommend MeLuna, because not only are those a lot cheaper, but I heard customers support is awesome!

To the topic: Menstrual cups exist since 1937 and there has never been a case of TSS (which ist a big known problem of tampons), they do not dry you out, they are a known therapy for fungal infections and I don´t think they are gross. I would recommend everyone should give them a shot

  • what if it spills when you pull it out ? ://

  • I was just thinking of the same thing... that's odd. LOL

  • LOL I can't even fit a very small tampon in... there's no way I would be able to fit that in! Also, I don't think there's anything wrong with pads... is there? It doesn't go into your body...

  • @MissClavelle lol yeah if you can't even get anything in then this might not be your best option

  • Can you wear this if you're a virgin...probably not, but I would try...I'm not very prone to pain anyway...

  • @strawberryblonde You most definitely can!

  • @WendIaBergman Thanks :) I might try!

  • @strawberryblondeee

If you can insert a tampon, you can insert a cup. It's squishy and folds up.

  • @strawberryblondeee Yes you can use this if you're a virgin, it's pretty much like a tampon.

  • This is ridiculous.

  • how does it go in

  • for the record i did give the cup a fair try. it just didn't cut it i bleed very heavily during my period and with my luck im normally at work with a break every 4-5 hours. sorry hun gave it a fair shake, but the convieneince and absorbency of a tampon won.

  • The moon cup lasts 5 years. And it's the same product.

  • thank you for telling me where i can get one :)

  • GROSS

  • @DeeDeeLucy your mindset is gross.

  • that is so Gross it is not more sanitary if tampons and pads were so fucking bad for you people would be like dying so those fucking diva cups are stupid and gross as hell

  • @girlytalk107 People HAVE died from tampons. And Divacups are proven to be more sanitary. Gross is a perception, so if your perception is that they're gross, that's your reality. However, many people do not find this method gross at all. It's cheaper, safer, more convenient and more comfortable for most people.

  • @Sausalito I agree 100% I use the Meluna and it's the BEST thing since sliced bread! :)

  • @Daisukiyo i wonder y its more CHEAPER u CANT make people like this shit tht thing is HUGE and u should say no 2 pads i bet u use them 2

  • @savanahliriano ps. we r like 12, 11, 10, or older so yea u r not very expiring

  • @savanahliriano I hope I'm not expiring lol I think you need to use a dictionary and look up what that word means. It doesn't make sense the way you've used it.

  • @Daisukiyo I KNOW WUT I ROTE LADY I DONT NEED THIS SH** ps. im only 10 my sentences can b written like tht

  • @Daisukiyo wow money really need to be invested in the education system, french is my first language and even I find this painful

  • @savanahliriano I'm sorry, I don't really understand what you wrote, as your comments were not complete sentences or thoughts.

  • @Daisukiyo NO FAT *** I ROTE IT RITE C OLD PPL DONT UNDERSTAND YOUNG PPL TLK

  • @savanahliriano What? I still don't understand you... you're cold? I can't even believe you're 10 years old. It's shocking how disrespectful and entitled people are at your age. It makes me not want to have children, because if I had a 10 year old like you, I'd want to shoot myself lol

  • @girlytalk107 what? :S

  • @girlytalk107 i agree with Daisukiyo, i was grossed out at first but the idea of less waste and more freedom makes it more interesting!

  • @girlytalk107 You really need to calm down a bit, your period is completely natural and NOT gross so neither is a product designed to use during your cycle. It's very depressing the way women are ashamed and hide their period. Thanks for the video very informative and helpful!

  • @maygem82 I know! It is incredibly sad that women think it is gross to deal first hand with their own period. The diva cup allowed me to figure out how heavy my flow actually is. It made me knowledgeable about my period.

  • @girlytalk107 it's called TSS... Look that up. Or better yet look at your tampon box, it has a warning..

  • @girlytalk107 I'm a guy and we're supposed to be the ones thinking its gross and shit. You are just being immature about it. Poo is gross, it comes out of your body, its inside you right now, its touching your insides... Oh noes!!!! A little vaginal discharge isn't something to be frightened of, its a natural body function. You are just being pressured by society and or religion to believe that these things are dirty and disgusting. Grow up and do yourself and the planet a favour.

  • @VoreTechz1985 It's nice to see a guy's perspective! :)

  • @Daisukiyo *bows* :D

  • @girlytalk107 SOOOOOO TRUE!!!!!!!

  • You should try Lovemoon Sanitary Napkins they actually dont use bleach at all. I really think using this cup cannot be helpful. Basically you are blocking the blood from coming out at all. So in theory it would be like a blocked washing machine.

  • @whateverbitchesXXX If the cup were overflowing and forcing the blood back into your uterus, I could understand that would be problematic. However, it never fills up, even on your heaviest days, and if you empty it a max of 12 hours at a time, you should be fine :)

  • @whateverbitchesXXX There is no way, at all, to block your menstraul flow from coming out with these cups! It fits around your cervical tip. If you forget it is in, and don't remove it--it would just start leaking and cause a mess. But that would be the users fault. "In theory" you should find out more. Some of us prefer not to diaper ourselves.

  • If That Is True I'll Jus Break Down And Use Toilet Paper

  • I don't know how women can use tampons... My friend convinced me to put one in once and.. to quote myself: "It hurt like hell!" It felt like sandpaper was scratching away at my insides. Ugh. I remember she had terrible cramps; I bet the tampons were causing them and/or contributing to them. I use Naturacare pads and I haven't had a menstrual cramp a day in my life. I'm waiting for my small LadyCup that I bought off Ebay to arrive and I'm (hopefully) going to be using it for every period.

  • @meadowfrance I had the same issue with tampons, and they always leaked within half an hour even though my flow isn't heavy!

  • @middy444 really? have you tried those really big ones? i think they're the tampax pearl brand, the strip on the front is purple, with a "leak guard" on the front label.

  • awesome video :) tampons are the devil ! fuck all these haters x

  • why'd you give that random peace sign at the beginning? haha

  • @xXSparksOfLightXx why not?

  • Thank you for this video! ive always hated my period b/c i really think pads and tampons are gross and get worried about getting an infection. i am definetly ordering one of these now!

  • If you clean the cup with anti-bacterial, as recommended, products aren't you getting alcohol or ammonia on it?

  • @jackrussel999 The cleaner that is recommended to buy with it is a natural soap, free of harmful chemicals and is also designed to not mess with your pH balance.

If you decide to use anything different, it's up to you to be careful.

  • Must have one hell of a man because women have a hard time with small tampons... Yet alone whatever that is... Who ever your man is must be well endowed.. That cup looks FUCKING HUGE.... END OF STORY...

  • @jjbmgm LOL I know! When I saw it I was like 'holy crow!?' lol But it's actually VERY flexible and folds in half, to be about the size of a regular/large tampon.

  • and say hello to toxic shock syndrome

  • @deathnotefan386 I have never heard of, or read of anyone getting toxic shock from a silicone cup. You're more likely to get it from a tampon.

  • @deathnotefan386 You can't get TSS from a cup. It's not possible

  • @marler3 bacteria can grow in anything, an certainly big puddles of blood, especially if you leave them for so long

though it is probably less likely, i could easily see people leaving them in for too long absentmindedly, as well as with tampons

    pick your poison, i guess?

  • @deathnotefan386 **less likely than in tampons, not less likely girls will leave them in

  • @deathnotefan386 It's not that it's less likely, it's that the cups do not cause TSS. I suggest you do some research as to what causes TSS.

You don't have "big" puddles of blood... believe it or not, most people don't bleed as much as they think they do. Most women, even during "heavy" flows do not really go above the halfway line (if you will) The menstrual fluid ITSELF, left up to even 12 hours, will not cause TSS.

  • what the hell.... who cares? no one has died from a tampon or pad..... i hate people who are over-the-top like this -_-

  • @tHekEyoFsOcIeTy If you hate people like me, why bother watching the video and wasting your time commenting? I never claimed anyone died from tampons or pads. I'm in the business of information sharing, so I'm sharing this tidbit of info, in the hopes of letting other women know there are more options out there for them :) Silicone cups are not for everyone, but some people really prefer them to the alternatives!

  • @tHekEyoFsOcIeTy It's not over the top... some people just, you know.. like it better than tampons or pads. I have always hated both. For some people prone to infections, this is a good option for some people. In my field, people will work 12 hour workdays with little break in between, sometimes you can't run to the bathroom to change a pad.... don't assume that people who do stuff like this are "over the top."

  • @tHekEyoFsOcIeTy over the top? :S

  • It rather not stick a plastic cup in me

  • @UnicornsAreTrending I agree... plastic cups would be horrible. It's a good thing the DivaCup is silicone :)

  • So what's next? We gonna put bottles up there b/c the cup isn't enough...lol so freaking ridiculous. Change your stuff often and clean yourself down there with soap everyday, period or none. It's about caring for your hygiene and not the kind of crap you shove up there that makes you sick.

  • @pixidust333 That's actually an incorrect statement, tampons CAN and DO cause toxic shock syndrome, so why not try and avoid that? Silicone cups do not take the place of good hygiene or changing your pads/tampons often, it is simply an affordable and comfortable and convenient alternative :)

  • @pixidust333 what's wrong with you?

  • U swallow chlorine everytime u swim in a pool, when u wear a white shirt that was bleached ur skin absorbs it.Therefore all crap can get into ur system anyways. Research better before u go all snob.As far as ur cup goes I don't wanna do a cartwheel & have all that crap go all over my uterus, I'd rather have it absorbed by bleached tampon or out onto pad...Many women have used the products for years & somehow we are still alive...last time I checked my vagina wasn't bleach white so I guess I'm ok

  • @pixidust333 I'm certainly no snob for sharing information about a product that I have come to love. It's not even about the fact that bleached fibers remain next to your reproductive system and get absorbed into the body, it's about cost savings and convenience too. You're missing the many features and benefits of the product in an attempt to bash me and undervalue the DivaCup. It's frankly immature.

  • Why is it considered gross to use these? I hear so many people say it's gross, but never a logical reason as to WHY it's gross... it's the only menstrual product out there that doesn't cause infections

  • @marler3 I don't get it either lol

  • LOL I wonder if they resell the returns :P

  • @0692857690 LOL hahaha! Geez I hope not! ;p lol

  • And I can also see how bleaching something to make it white is unhealthy to put in your body. That's why we as women have never put bleach or peroxide anywhere near our body. We never bleach our hair or our teeth. We never eat white bread, we never bake with white flour, we never drink milk, we never eat eggs, we never drink tap or bottled water. Nope. Too damn dangerous.

  • @fantabulousK Personally, I don't use cups because of the no-bleach factor, I use it because it's cheaper, it doesn't hurt me the way tampons do, especially with removal... it doesn't dry you out, it doesn't harm the natural environment of your body, it lasts longer, I don't have to carry a bunch of crap in my purse... trust me there are a million reasons why people use these

  • Yes, you're so right. I can totally see how pulling a cup full of my own menstrual blood out of my vagina with my hand, and having the blood all over my fingers and then physically dumping said blood out into the toilet, then going to a sink god knows where and rinsing this silicon cup is more sanitary than simply touching a white cotton string with two fingers and pulling the tampon out and letting it fall into the toilet and replacing it with a clean one. Totally.

  • @fantabulousK You wouldn't get it all over your hands once you're used to it... and if you're in public there is no need to rinse it under the sink, it can simply be wiped off. It doesn't promote bacteria, or hold bacteria.

  • @fantabulousK you sound a bit angry there, love.

  • @middy444 That's because it's disgusting. And unsanitary. And really just nasty. What do you do if it decides to dis-lodge itself? Or what if it springs a leak? And you can't tell me you get no blood on your hands because that's a load of horse shit and you know it.

  • @fantabulousK It doesn't dislodge, it forms an airtight seal. It only leaks if you leave it too long for your flow. So sterile silicone with blood that you pour out is worse than a soggy, smelly chemical laden bit of cotton with a manky string??? Get a grip. Since I changed to the cup Ive been in so much relief from vile stinking pads and tampons. Not to mention what it does to the environment.

  • @fantabulous Lmao you know you were all bloody when you were born and I'm sure your mom kissed you after!

  • @WendIaBergman Actually, I didn't meet my mom until about a day and a half after my birth, and by then I had already been bathed by my dad. On the day my mother went into labor something went wrong and dispite pushing for a very long time, she couldn't manage to get me out. I was born via emergency cesarian section, and my mom was put under general anesthetic. She was very weak, and was unable to regain full consciousness until the day later.
