Even though I'm a pageant girl, this made me LOL. I understand that just because my mom isn't like this, that these moms aren't like mine. My mom, for starters, hates pageants. She only lets me compete because she knows how happy it makes me, and she'd rather die than stand up and make a fool out of herself.
I'm not trying to pick any fights here, I'm just saying that not all pageant moms are like these.
These moms are completely invested in their daughters' performances. Dance teachers don't cry when you fumble onstage. This display reminds me more of coaches at the Olympics, who also get invested in their athlete because of the sheer amount of dedication it takes. But then, we are talking about adults, and who chose to give up everything to pursue their goal. It's a far, far different thing when it's concerning little kids and their parents.

I think this whole pageant thing for girls this age is pretty sick. And we wonder why children in America are being so hypersexualized?
