Hate to break the bad news, but the planned Red Dwarf movie is no longer going ahead due to a lack of funds and interest from wealthy companies. The only good news, 4 brand new episodes are to be aired on the dave channel next year.

That clip is a blue screen composite from two separate sources:

The single shot of Hattie is from the Series IV deleted scenes (saying goodbye to Ace), while the background is an unused CGI plate for The End: Remastered (if you look closely through the grate to Hattie's right, you can just make out Rimmer and Lister pushing the repair cart from the first episode).

Sadly, the Red Dwarf Movie stalled simply because GNP could never get the money to finish pre-pro and get into the filming.

Recasting was suggested by one of the big studios who then asked, "How about Hugh Grant for Lister, and what's Emma Thompson up to these days?" :-))

...Oh, and the best answer I ever heard for the 'Grogan/Annett?' question was from a mate of mine at college. We both said Claire Grogan, and his reason was:

"Chloe might be gorgeous, but she's not a 'Lister-Bird'." lol
