  • Obama? Same shit, different country.

The only difference is people in Iran stand up, while many in Western countries are still sleeping! Truth can not be stopped and this clash between Freedom Fighters and Authority is going to be global.

  • It sure is - the Iranian people are waking up the world - we are fighting for them in London as best we can

  • Those are people like you and me. Fed up with authority. This is not about religion, nations, races etc.

It is about Freedom vs Authority. Global.

  • Sorry for my bad english:

Iran is strong enough to help the people and become a democration, but not smart enough. They kill their own people.

  • freedom warriors of IRAN, the people of ISRAEL salute you!

  • Let;s thank this all to the invention of gun and radio and other whack-o majiggies.

  • Religion poisons government.

  • If i was in Iran i would be fighting the police and burning buildings and looting

just as these people are going.

But it won't change the government

  • Troublemakers funded by England in the crowd are ruining Iran. But the people that want more freedom are peaceful.

  • salaam aleichem. Althought I am a christian I wish God's peace on you. May you find the strength to persevere. Mya God protect you in your struggle.

  • Religion is poison.

  • man without religion is like a fish without a wheelbarrow

  • It depends entirely on the particular religion.

And remember that by far the most murderous regimes in history have been either semi- (Nazis) or totally (Communists) atheistic, even as both systems proclaimed they respected religious belief and believers. (The Nazi ideological leadership was a mix of atheism with some nature-worship spirituality.)

  • Religion is nonsense .Mankind needs to rid itself of this nonsense or we will not survive it.

  • Ayatollah loves my balls!

  • I love how when anything wrong happens everybody calls on America. When we do help we get critisised on any little thing. Im sorry but i dont give a damn for the rest of the world anymore! I hope Iran does attack pussy ass Europe!

  • give me a fuckin' break!

i challenge you to one truly benevolent policy within the past 50 years or so, for every ten corrupt ones....

FTR i think what obama has said is just fine considered how badly the US gov't has screwed with iran (and most of the middle east). i would be interested to hear what carter has to say about all of this...

UP with the people! i have never been so proud to be (half) iranian.

  • It is Best that the Iranian people fight for there own freedom without any outside help. For there pride is the power behind this movement.

  • How about some plain cloths US forces to beat up on the Basiij forces just to equalize the playing field.

Khoda in hookomate jomhori ra bezane azbein bere.

Dame tamae bachehai Irani garm, donya shoma ra negah mikone ve shoma be hame dars midahid ba in gheiratetan.

The world can learn a lesson or two from Iranian youth.

on 9/11 everyone was American, this week we are all Iranian.

  • Sigh, do you think Americans are Superman? Wearing plain clothes would make them look Iranian? Also what does the US owes you. Why must the US help. Fight your own battle.

  • Are you serious? I hope our country never has anything like this happen. If we stand by idly and do nothing to help the people of Iran... who will help American people if we ever need it? American or Iranian.. we are all people and need to stand together for our freedoms.

  • The vietnamese needed our "help", the iraqis needed our "help". What happened next? We are called the bad guys. This will be no different. The US is not the world police. Let france or the dutch or some other people do this dirty job, we had enough.

  • Iran doesn't need your "help"

  • lol you went into iraq for oil

you went to vietnam because of your pride

you cant go into iran because you went to iraq for fun and are now stuck there... they dont need your help, just verbal support is enough to know the worlds behind them...

  • Darkrigue,

It's delusional thinking like that that has been a key to tyranny in the Middle East and elsewhere. Ask any tyrant or propagandist--and they're eagerly feed the media-controlled masses lines and conspiracy theories just like yours.

  • NEDA a 16 yeas old child who went out with her father to see and participate in something she didnt even know what it was, was murdered by Ayatollahs imported Hezbollah from Lebanon. This so called supreme leader must be brought to justice along with all his thugs like Ahmadinejad, Rafsanjani, Basiij elements and leaders.

The Iranians will not rest until justice is done.

    Long Live Free IRAN.

  • free iran this repressive gov has to go and the people of iran can do it!!!!

  • America's ultimate goal is derailing Iran's nuclear program. America doesn't have the economic power to exercise military action. We're also suffering from Iraq fatigue. It's best that we sit back and see how things will play out. Not taking a side will make the difference whether we have a chance of negotiating with the old leadership about their whole nuclear program thingy they have, should there be no revolution. Remember, same Ayatollah, same problem.

  • This video is a perfect example of what will happen in the US if things keep going at the rate they are.

  • Our present gang of liberal democrats now attempting to govern our country have absolutely no idea how to deal in foreign affairs and especially not even the remotest ideas how to deal in intelligence and covert actions as might be helpful to Iranians who want a better government. The best thing we can do is hope Obama and Billery Clinton will stick their head in a hole and keep it there until its over.

  • you're an idiot.

    rofl.

  • Damn, a project monkey who can actually spell. Amazing.

  • Why don't you go and punch your buddies in the face. You'll all feel better and we'll be spared your "brilliance."

  • Back to the projects with you dude.

  • last time we, the US, helped out a suppressed poeple, the whole world turned against us.

  • yup man, u guyz better stay out of this for now, until it's clear that ppl gonna win, however u guyz could help indirectly! say call the embassies in tehran and tell to accept injured ppl cuz if they go to the hospital they'll arrest him!

  • Yeah, that's what happened.

  • Those "suppressed" people weren't asking for help. We decided they needed it (A lame excuse to get the American people to back this) and forced ourselves into their country. This is something completely different.

  • America/Whole world should intervene if the bloodshed goes on for very long. Remember The Northern Alliance? Remember Kosovo? Oppressed people fighting for freedom are very happy to see helpers arrive. There needs to be a well organized resistance, which didn't exist in Iraq due to brutal regime.

They're fighting religious fanatics, who truly believe they are on god's side. Certainly we should intervene rather than watch hundreds of thousands die? In Iraq, thousands died, needlessly.

  • They are Iranian! They need to do this ALONE They can do this!!! No meddleling no matter how good intentions! Remember Iraq??? They gotta reach and get it themselves and they will god willing! All good! :-)

  • very very brave of all you iranians. thank you for the video. keep the fight. you are in millions. your hearts are set on change. your souls are on fire. they can't do anything. at best, they can injure a few. they can't stop a nations stride to a new dawn.

  • GL to the Iranians protesting the elections in Tehran.

Publicly staying out of what is going on is the best thing the American government can do right now. This is STILL a conservative Iranian candidate, and STILL a semi-anti US Iranian people. Showing too much support, ESP from Obama, will only hurt the cause of the protesters in the eyes of the public at large.

Baby steps. Democracy is a step in the right direction.

  • Sorry to say that Obama/Jimmy Carter will do nothing to help the people of iran win this revolution, this wasted opportunity to free the iranian people will just add to his legacy as the worst president in U.S history.

  • Spoken like a true brainwashed fool. Obama should send the American troops in to get more Americans killed? Why? This is there fight the people of Iran are capable of freeing themselves if that is what they want. Why is Americans have to be the savor of everyone else and then become the enemy for doing so? If America hasn't intervened in what is happening in Darfur, why should we intervene in this??

  • Obama needs to make sure Iran knows that the world is watching. Watching the way they treat the interests of their people. This should also be in interest of the Iranian people fighting for a better government - that the world is watching and behind them. What also needs to be proven or disproved is if the election was rigged. Sending troops in is not an option.

  • Yes, I pray the Iranian people have the strength to win the revolution. However, I pray the United States can give emotional support without sticking their nose into something they know little about, as in the case of when we went into Iraq. To have our large business interests get rich off the poor people who were caught in the middle, still are over in Iraq. The poor parents and their children who still at this very moment have nothing.

  • Janice,

The history of US involvement with poorer countries shows that they are MUCH wealthier after US involvement than before, usually. Iraq and Iraqis under democracy will prove to be far wealthier than Iraq under Saddam--at least if they can keep their republic intact (versus AQ, Iran, corruption,etc.).

That said, I certainly agree that overt involvement in Iran would be a huge mistake, and I don't think that very many (in Iran or in the US) are supporting that. Some, sure, but not many.

  • Iran under the Shah was actually really wealthy as well. They were projected to become even wealthier than some Western European countiries. But the islamists put an end to that in 1979-Present Day.

  • You just have no faith in your country. If you teach your kids to act the way you act. Then no one will be better off. I wonder if there is anything that you don't blame someone else for.

E Pluribus Unum means Out of many, one

  • I am an American and I'm pulling for the people of Iran not the government. POWER TO THE PEOPLE. LET FREEDOM RING!

  • Hard to watch, very hard. But this is the reality of a revolution and it is going to be hard to watch in the coming days. It takes people's guts and lives at times to get what they want. It will be hard to watch but in doing so we can learn what life in these dominated countries is really like. J.Nolting

  • Thank God George Bush is not our President now!

Least we can let a country decide for themselves which way they want to run, regardless of their choice, they will be able to make it their own. Janice Nolting

  • Janice,

Remember that if Khamenei and Ahmedinejad win, it will NOT be because that is what the people chose, but because of the power of tyranny--period.

I, and I'm sure you as well, pray that the Irani reformers will have the wisdom and strength to prevail.

  • Yeah, who really cares about genocide, lopping off peoples heads, stoning women, raping. Doesn't matter to me either. If hitler were in power killing jews that wouldn't matter either.

  • Are ewe mildly retarded ?

What in the blue hell does Bush not being Our President have to do with this ?

Any open minded American and yes that includes GW Bush supports the fight for Freedom by Our Brothers and Sisters in Iran. Bashing Bush does nothing to help the Iranians who want free elections.

God Bless those brave souls taking a stand in Tehran!

  • Yeah, Obama went for a CUP of vanilla Ice Cream with his daughters today, while the people of Iran are gettin KILLED.

If George Bush did that, we would NEVER Hear the end of it.

God bless the people of Iran, America is praying for you.

Obama will be of no help, no matter what.

  • the US was on the wrong side of history by unduly influencing the politics of iran before. What seemed like right and wrong back then was apparently obvious and yet we were the ones who were wrong and it led to the current regime we have today. We cannot "make things right" now by once again attempting to exert our influence on their country. The only thing we can do without making it worse is to support the ideas of freedom and democracy until the time is right.

  • Remember that the US motive for the intervention was to keep it from being taken over by Stalin's USSR. (Britain had that concern, plus the oil company they owned.) The Shah was was far, far better for Iran than Communism. (Compare DPRK to ROK, PRC to Taiwan--US support for authoritarianism v. Communism as the lesser of evils, evolving to democracy.)

_Maybe_ that concern about Communism was wrong, but it did kill many tens of millions of people, and enslave/impoverish another billion or two.

  • Hey Janice - Get your head out of your A#* and start looking forward! Media driven disease you have...

  • Power to the people in fighting this unjust ruthless regime, they the rulers of iran, are nothing but killing thugs.

  • I just wish the demonstrator's could continue in non-violence....when the violence occurs it seems like they have become no better.

  • Nonviolent means are preferable. But when faced with injustice, "by any means necessary" is (sometimes and regretfully) required

  • I only wish we as a people could someday move beyond so much of what has plagued us. Peace is obtainable and on a long enough time line inevitable so how many people have to die for peace to be obtained?

  • BTW, who's who in this vid? Which side are the freedom fighters and which are the fundies?

  • They need to get the Molotov cocktails flying.

  • hey stupid-americans!

this is not about Obama and his ridiculous negotiations!

this is what Iran's people do to make their living better cause they r fed up with that islamist shit.

they r fed up, do u get it?

and remember - they r not Arabs.

  • I am american, and i have to agree with you, there are a lot of stupid people in this country... but i guess stupidity can be found in any country.

  • sorry for insult. "stupid-american" is what russians used to think ha-ha...

do you know how many people there are in Iran? just a bit fewer than USA's population. right?

  • Uh, no. US population is over 300 million. Iran population is about 70 million. Pretty funny you calling us "stupid."

  • hello wise-esses!

tell me immediately the number of nations over 50 mlns on this planet.

I meant Iran is a really BIG country and pls don't treat it as some fucking palestine...And I mean what's happening in Iran is more important than what any USpresident does.

    capisco?

  • Are you stupid, or is everyone that disagrees with you ..stupid?

  • vvshuba,

You misunderstood the comments. There was a sub-discussion about Obama's response--no one is suggesting that the protests in Iran are about Obama.

You should read and think more carefully before posting insults.

  • sorry there's no time in this life to read every comment people post.

    anyway - ok.

  • np, vvshuba. I appreciate your comment.

  • If you think the USA/Obama should "do more" about this situation you literally don't have a single clue about US-Iranian history. Or how badly the regime wants to blame the US for its problems. Please shut up and go read.

  • thank you. too bad the fox news audience doesnt understand this.

  • Obama is doing exactly what he needs to do: not getting involved.

  • JohnRylander......... ''negotiate away their nuclear weapons program''........ fuck dude you must be smoking the same stuff your Obama-god is smoking... bahahahaha

  • jordache, I'm not saying _I_ think Obama can succeed with this, I'm saying _Obama_ thinks Obama can succeed with this.

I hope he can, but I fear he overestimates himself and underestimates the apocalyptic resolve of this truly fanatical regime.

The Islamic Republic of Iran is not the USSR; Khamenei and Ahmedinejad seem to think that "martyrdom" for millions of Iranis in a nuclear war with Israel would be a _good_ thing _for Iran_, e.g. I don't get the impression that Obama understands this.

  • Anyone who thinks that the US Government should openly back the protesters, or that the US should invade Iran, obviously hasn't bothered to think out the implications of either of those two events.

  • Obama has carefully issued his statement of support. No more need be said. We as American support the effort.

What we are watching is the Iranian fundamentalist destroy themselves.

  • I think the main reason Obama has been reluctant to criticize the government of Iran is that he presume they will win. If he criticizes them and then they win, then that will make his efforts to negotiate-away their nuclear weapons program all the more difficult.

I myself doubt that negotiations will produce anything except delays leading to IRGC nuclear weapons, but Obama seems pretty (naively? over-?) confident that he can talk them into it, and he's trying to preserve that option.

  • Yeah, that's a great idea! Let's go back into Iran, like the last time we did in 1953, when we put the Shah back in power! I'm sure the people of Iran would love that!

  • So much stupid in just one post.

  • oh you conservatives, things are just so simple/black and white aren't they? Ignorance is bliss.

  • Your comments seem at least as simplistic as those you criticize.

Obama is a man of exceptional verbal skill--like Reagan or Clinton, unlike Bush 41 or 43. Hey could be much more morally supportive while making it clear there's zero US involvement.

But instead he wants to preserve good relations with the Khamenei/Ahmedinejad regime since he intends to negotiate with it to stop its nuclear weapons program, since he thinks he can succeed in that.

  • Obama only says he's concerned about everything. You don't understand, Obama is a wuss.

  • Actually, it is a lot more complex than you realize we know, we as conservatives know about JC, (not jesus christ but jimmy carter). We know that Iran held american hostages for over a year when JC was president and they were afraid of what Reagan would do to that country for treating our people like that, so when Reagan won the election the hostages were released. Obama is a wimp.

  • Exactly. but now times have changed, and the U.S. does not have the position it did when Reagan was voted in. With other countries going around toting nuclear arms and war(N. Korea) and everyone just sits on the side lines and watches.....I don't think Iran would react the same way as they did back then.

  • Of course it's very important for yo OBAMABOTS...... that your precious god doesn't get blamed for anything...... that would be so baaaaad and devastating to you personality cultists!!!!!!

  • Obama is not a coward. he is smart. the iranian government is looking for someone to blame and if obama sed something then the united stated would be the blame. As an Iranian myself i am glad to see the people protesting. Its time for a change

  • The world is watching.

  • Anybody who thinks obama should overtly say WE SUPPORT THE IRANIAN REBELS is a fool . He obviously does- however- if we want to avert another huge mid-eastern operation it is for the US's sake that he speaks to the crisis indirectly. The US doesn't have to deal with EVERY country's problems you know?

  • Ahmadinejad is trying to say that this is an American-backed revolt that was organized by the CIA. Do you really think that Obama can say anything that will help the situation? If Obama comes out in support in any way, it will give Ahmadinejad ammo to support his rumors. The best thing that can be done is urge both sides be peaceful, and Obama has done that.

  • @latrell -

President Obama has not been silent, fool. He's just not a hysterical hypocritical Republican who speaks out of his ass hole (ahem, mccain) without understanding the Whole Picture.

Very narrow minded bunch, those repubs.

Thank god Obama won. He is a voice of reason.

  • Except that he's not silent, but you know, don't let facts get in the way of criticizing him!

  • everyone across the globe- wear green tomorrow!

  • God does not create war, MAN does. How many times must this be stated? Negativity&Cynicism is weak. The people need POSITIVE support, not loser mentality. If you can't say something uplifting, SHUT. UP. These people are BRAVE, and close to freedom. God= Peace, not war. The ones that want suppression by force are NOT God. You wrong the heroes by saying "there's no God". Peace/Freedom is hard to achieve, giving up and being faithless is an easy choice that leads to ruin. Not the other way around.

  • Stop using the Iranian protests to grind your personal ax with American domestic politics. The biggest propaganda gift Obama could give the regime would be overt support of the protests. Get a clue.

  • Very true. I think America has done its part. The house passed a bill to show support to the people, while the president was smart enough to stay out of it so the Iranian government can't say "this is an american backed revolt. kill them all."

  • The Iranian government must understand that the world is watching. We mourn each and every innocent life that is lost. We call on the Iranian government to stop all violent and unjust actions against its own people. The universal rights to assembly and free speech must be respected, and the United States stands with all who seek to exercise those rights.

  • As I said in Cairo, suppressing ideas never succeeds in making them go away. The Iranian people will ultimately judge the actions of their own government. If the Iranian government seeks the respect of the international community, it must respect the dignity of its own people and govern through consent, not coercion.

  • Martin Luther King once said - "The arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends toward justice." I believe that. The international community believes that. And right now, we are bearing witness to the Iranian peoples' belief in that truth, and we will continue to bear witness.

    -Barack Obama

  • This video was just shown on cnn

  • I'm so proud of my people.

    Of their courage.

To stand like this in front this ugly, discusting vermines!!!

    Down with Dictators!!!!!

  • Looks like a little pwnage to me whatever the case... God, be merciful.

  • marg bar khamenei

  • For years, copying other people, I tried to know myself. From within, I couldn't decide what to do. Unable to see, I heard my name being called. Then I walked outside. The breeze at dawn has secrets to tell you. Don't go back to sleep. You must ask for what you really want. Don't go back to sleep. People are going back and forth across the doorsill where the two worlds touch. The door is round and open. Don't go back to sleep.
  • it must take a ridiculous amount of courage and audacity to face down a crooked fanatical regime and their brutal thugs. good luck people of iran. the sane world is cheering and praying for you.

  • Yes! POWER TO THE PEOPLE!!!

  • So uh, what happened next?

  • some people are really cheap coming in here and try to deny people of Iran their freedom from these murderers that we can see with our own eye.If you dont want to support them then at least get lost. people died over there, have some respect. or you are just like khamanaei the murderer

  • If you think this is serious, wait until the day they finally come to the realization religion is all fake and there never has been any real gods. To say heads will roll is a vast understatement.

  • The world is not as cynical as you , Iranians find strength through prayer not whining about a godless world. You are a godless fool. They don't need to hear your weakness right now.

  • I don't know, but I think it's a sign of strength to be an atheist, definitely not weakness. Until mankind doesn't overcome belief in an invisible product sold to them by evil people, I don't have much "faith" (hehe) in real change. That is true for Islam and Christianity and all other religions that are trying to teach people what is right and what is wrong. The only exception I would make is for Buddhism which doesn't pose as an all-knowing-entity

  • Exactly what started the French Revolution.

There are no gods or God

  • ridam to roohe khomeini

  • GOD be with you brave people

  • hmm apezak, I don't really think anyone is protesting because the USA want them to.

If you really think so, I think you must be a little confused.

    People want freedom.

    NOW

  • come on Apezak. I think you must have confused yourself a bit.. People aret protesting because th USA are telling them to.

People are protesting because they want freedom of choice. NOW:

  • down with ayatolla1!!! Down with the supreme leader !! He is evil and a imposter!!!!!!

  • FIGHT ON!!! Do not surrender to these megalomaniac thugs!!!

  • The American people support your revolution, eventhough our president does not.

  • Your president likely does support the revolution, but if he makes a bold statement then the Iranian government will use it as propaganda against the opposition and say that they are American agents / Israeli spies etc and try to turn people against them through that route.

This is why UK and USA aren't making regular bold statements in support of the protesters.

  • Khameini has already stated that everything is because of the "zionists" and the west. He's rallying the ultra-conservative wackos.

  • he's been careful.

  • DUMB ALERT!!!

  • This is the problem. Stop labeling events when all you see is a 59 second clip of people throwing rocks. The world is not as simple as good and bad, or Obama and McCain. "even though our president does not"...lol, fox.

  • nvroddog --- You are such a simpleton. Of course Obama supports the Iranian people, you insult your own intelligence with such statements. The biggest propaganda gift he could give the Iranian Regime is to overtly back the protests. Get a clue.

  • Almost everyone is doing the right thing, almost everyone will ultimately do the right thing, if you persist, it can not be any other way

You are the majority: you can NEVER lose!

Talk is CHEAP when you are going to compare it, very very cheap, talk is nothing when people won't stand behind it. there is the good that you can talk about and there is the bad that you can talk about..... -just guess- which one is intrinsically and truely the best and most powerful

Peace will be with you, after all
