  • snes version is the worst because of LAGS. Sega Mega Drive is the best because it's smooth and has the best music (not cheap midi like amiga). and amiga version is second (only graphics is good).

  • it's so funny that your partner doesn't get hurt by the steam

  • One of the best Amiga's soundtracks EVER!!! still got the tunes burned in my memory!

  • i played that game at the age of 4 :D one of the best game, that i played in my life till yet....im searching on ebay for an amiga500+, but im not finding nothing =( ...my old amiga was sold, when i started to play with the LAST of epic "Game-Machine" ----> The famous "PLAYSTATION" or "PSX" ^^

  • I started a fan page for Dan Malone (the artist on this game) on facebook, and via various links and posts I managed to contact Dan himself to talk to him about it, he was very touched his work was still loved, I mean, his work is classic! He even started to upload concept sketches from The Chaos Engine and also the original arena design for Speedball 2.

Search for The Incredible Art Of Dan Malone on facebook

Please thumbs up so people can join in and tell Dan he's the flea's peas.

  • @lordnipple thanks for sharing!!! I've just seen the page on facebook. Very inspirational :)

  • Doesnt it feel better owning the original amiga version than just emulators? This game deserves to be bought and owned

  • great game - one of the best on amiga

  • played this game on the snes because I live in north america and the amiga was hidden in the corner in the market. great game anyways.

when people hear steampunk they think garbage half assed game. they would be right 99% of the time. this was the exception to the rule. im glad nintendo power talked so highly of it.

  • Can game be more awesome than this!? Answer to this question is: NO

  • Haha love that bend glitch at the start.

  • World 2 Level 1 beat is awesome..... love World 2 level 4 music the most though

  • I could listen to the character select screen music forever. There is just something about it.

  • I wish i could get hold of the darn soundtrack!! all i have so far is the inrto sequence, but the ingame music is totally amazing!

R.I.P Richard Joseph (composer of the chaos engine)

  • Read our channel FAQ - there are download links :)

  • I downloaded the music but it sadly only contains the main intro theme, noting else =(

oh well, it was an awesome playthrough, and thanks a lot for the nostalgic feelings!!! i love it :p

  • Exotica has them all int he original tracker format, but you need deliplayer to play them.

  • @cubex55 can you download the MODLAND collection like the hvsc collection? on the hvsc theres a download link for the collection, the modland collection is on a ftp server, can you dl the whole content ?

  • and you missed a nod in level 1-2

  • do you have a source on those news?

  • It's on youtube. search Chaos engine 3 and it's there

  • You nincompoop, that's a beta video of the original chaos engine when it was intended to be a 3 player game. Read the tittles porperly instead of taking rushed conclusions and spread false news.

  • One amazing game! We used to skip classes at highschool to play it.

  • Special activated !

  • A flawless masterpiece by the once legendary Bitmap Brothers !

One of the 10 best amiga action games ever imo.

  • Thanks for the memories man!

I had the game on SNES and the first time where bet the game and saw the ending, I couldn't sleep on that night....

He has a strange voice :D

  • Wow, the AGA version's graphics are a lot worse than this. Isn't AGA supposed to be better? And why did they cut the ending? "You will be remembered," is an awesome line. In the AGA version it seems the lip sync was off a lot, too.

  • the megadrivemusic was shit compared to amiga...

  • What an amazing game.

I must have been 3-5 when I played it :)

  • same

  • i am so glad my nan still has this i play it all the time!

  • This is an amazing game and will always be in my heart, Amazing graphics, Amazing sound, Amazing music & amazing gameplay!

    50/5

  • the chaos engine is too bad!!! just excellent gameplay, they dont make games like this anymore! :( tht is a poor 1!

  • The voice samples sound like Patrick Stewart a.k.a Captain Picard. Does anyone know if this is right. Disclaimer-i am not a trekkie.

  • Awesome game with just incredible graphics by Dan Malone. Mark Coleman's style is very similar, and if you like this you should check out Cadaver, Gods, Magic Pockets and Speedball.

  • What's the Amiga Longplay, never heard of it. I have this game for SNES, but it's called Soldiers of Fortune. Think the furthest I can get is 4-2 or 4-3, it's basically impossible on one player. Once you get about that far in your CPU AI teammate basically starts committing suicide, ridiculous.

  • The Amiga is a computer by Commadore basically.

A longplay is basically going from begining to end, like the opposet of a speedrun... sort of.

The ports of the Chaos engine to the console are extremely inferirior to what was on the amiga 500 (which is the model this game is being played on)

  • Oh yeah, I can't really see much difference between this and the SNES version. Although your AI teammate definitely isn't running directly into enemies like they do in the later levels of teh SNES version.

  • @CFkimahri i play this on the 1200 which is no different for this game. The amiga music is so much better than the consoles i agree. The SNES version is horrible. The only version of this game that should exist is the Amiga version. A truly amazing classic game that never dies
