Great atuff. My brother and I were discussing this add on the weekend. The last time I saw this clip was in the mid eighties when I was a trainee manager for KFC as part of the induction day..memories!!:)
I can see why you liked it as adverts were very unfunky then so this would be very different. Now it looks like the 1st Mickey Mouse cartoon in the 1930's.
The earliest ad I remember was for Esso Blue and it was nothing like this.
I remember the old Amoco Ad, 'amoco, nice clean amoco, in your machine' with a gorgeous open top old car and a couple of hippies in it I think. Have asked a couple of people on here who post old ads to post that one but not come across it as yet. Remember the Fancy Nancy Fanta Ad with John Farnham? That is on here. Are you Aussie?
No comment from the bosses about the size of the kids. It was pretty much a full on indoctrination for KFC. I actually picked up a copy of the single they released for the Amoco ad in a second hand store for a dollar!!
I think this is a reply to me???but I don't get notifications now so excuse me if it isn't. No I don't emember the Fancy Nancy Fanta Ad with John Farnham. I'm British :o)
Well no, I can't take that honour, he made a video a few days ago but as the first video I ever did was in response to gpert I feel so delighted that he did this for me, and on a ukelele too, whoo hoo!
Cool. I was just reading here in South Australia about a popular local artist from a band called The Hilltop Hoods who is partitioning against KFC's treatment of chickens, ie: they cut off the tips of their beaks, their legs break because they can't hold their own weight from the growth hormones, their cages are so small they can't even stretch their own wings, and they are thrown into scalding water while still alive to be de feathered. Makes me feel guilty for kind of promoting the product.
Well thats good to know, kind of. I wonder if anyone has told the Hilltop Hoods guy yet as the story was only in last weeks paper. Thanks for commenting. Aussie aussie aussie oi oi oi
hey--i went as high as the western cwm with the imax camera. this was kinda a scout for next year. i did a lot of silly videos, but i gotta get an ok from the BBC--they have tv and electronic media rights--before i can put them on youtube!
It's a cap not a hair style. Everybody in my family hates it, I am not allowed to wear it outside, that's why Michael bought me the nice hat but that's not as warm or comfortable, and belongs to Farken now.
We never had this ad in the states, it's brilliant! I hope you get lots of good funky versions (I can't wait to hear them). Farken looked happy in his little chair.
You know every time I try to think up an idea for a new video, I have to force myself not to include Farken in every one of them. I have to get more vid of him in the back of the car, he makes me wet my pants he is so funny. He loves the wind in his face and when he jumps off the back he throws his arms and legs out like a flying squirrel to catch the wind, didn't really capture it in the last vid.
Wow thats the first time ive seen that, but sadly i cant help i can barely play the piano lol. Did you notice there was no CHICKEN in the four legged farm band?lol
Are there ANY chickens in the ad? I better go back and check. CharlesTrippy did a cute video where he showed chickens running around right next to a KFC restaurant. I should ask him to post that vid here.
The advertisement brings home the fact that Takeaway Food was never meant to become a staple diet for people sitting at home in front of their televisions. It was designed to eat while 'on the road' as a treat and a convenience while travelling.

Hi! I thought you might find it interesting that I live 20 mins away from the first original Kentucky Fried Chicken Resturaunt. Here in Kentucky USA.
Its like a museum yet they still serve chicken. It has a wax figure of Colonel Sanders in there.
This advertisement is very cute!
