The battle of Salamis was the greatest naval battle in the History!
The United Greek Navy (380 ships) under the command of Themistocles vs the Persian Navy (1200 ships).
Greek ships (Trireme) were more flexible than the Persian ones.
And the command of Greek leaders superior, as well.
The outcome of the battle was a huge proud beat of the Greeks that changed the flux of the History.

actually battle Plataea happened 1 year after Salamis. Ye basically they delayed them long enough for winter to catch up. When greeks attacked platea , they fought against 300.000 perses that had mardonius as leader. Greeks were 40.000 and basically the Spartans that were 10.000 with Pausanias for king slaughtered most of persians including mardonius leaving only 50.000 alive because they got tired of killing.
