  • Someone should've got Mick Avory a book to read....

  • @TheRoute19 , , ,Mick Avory DOES look bored!

  • @TheRoute19

drummers always have that bored face in 60's TV music show. I am sure there are plenty of exceptions but its a trend i noticed

  • the lead singer looks like robert pattinson with longer hair.

  • Flying Vs look so weird in those pre-hendrix days.

i mean the one time Jimi hold and played one,t hat looked awesome.

  • GIOD THIS IS FANTASTIC!! didnt wiki Who wrote this song?

  • @DavelovesRealMusic according to wikipedia, Kokomo Arnold.

  • I must point out that 1958 flying V guitar (the only year they made them prior to 1968). If you had that guitar today, it's worth upwards of $500,000.00

  • If you watch video The Kinks Milk Cow Blues 1966 on here you will see how absolutely fan-bloody-tastic The Kinks were. Dave Davies voice and guitar are frigging raw & amazing and pete's bass playing is the dogs licky bits...God save The Kinks :oD

  • The aerosmith version is more fast paced and the harmonica in it really kicks ass!!

  • @aerorocker1001

dude, nobody cares for aerosmith here.

it's like telling us you think van halen kicks ass on you really got me, which they don't.

  • @OropherThranduil chill out, i didn't say anything about anybody being better then somebody, I was JUST SAYING. It's not like I don't study up on the fucking rock scene

  • love those go go girls

  • What a great clip. Thanks for sharing. This is what makes YouTube my favorite go to place for archival rock video. WOW.

  • One of the best cover tunes of all time. Aerosmith recorded it years later just as the KinKs arranged it. Dave was one of the few bending notes back in the mid 60's and the hair on my arms still stand up each time I hear Milk Cow Blues. Also love the way Ray and Dave traded vocals and I'm looking forward to that type of collaboration in the near future. Damn shame about Pete though. He was perfect with Dave in creating that wall of sound.

  • OMG I had a pair of those whit go-go boots myself when I was 8 yrs old. I was sooo proud! LOL Love the kinks! Very under rated band.

  • 18 tear old Dave Davies!!! Roll that around in your head a while.

  • when I was a kid, I remember watching Shindig every Saturday morning without fail.

  • what an awesome song, and what AWFUL clothes! what the hell are they wearing?

  • Elvis's version was revolutionary at the time, and without doubt still the best

  • tell it like it is raw power music oh yeah love shindig!!!!

  • Did you read the credits at the end, naming all the bands that were on that night...The Kinks, The Hollies, Manfred Mann, Marianne Faithful, Gerry and the Pacemakers, The Who.

    Quite the show.

  • @bigsoundp I'm old enough to remember Shindig, (63 yrs old!) They always had a great line-up, though most of the Brit bands were on tape from somewhere else. Hullabaloo, (on NBC) had a slight edge because it was in COLOR!!, and most of the acts were live from the venue. Also, they had real hot disco dancers! (Check out Lada Edmund Jr.)

  • Now I know where Aerosmith took that groove from:).

  • i like this version. Aerosmiths is good too. and elvis did this song nicely too.

  • SOLID GOLD!

  • wooooo love it

  • My favourite's version of this song !

a very original and great 60's band.

and... what a pleasure these "Shindig dancers" !

    thanks for posting !

  • I go for Eddie's version.

  • A Kinks video clip with Dave Davies singing lead?! Holy crap, talk about a rare find. Thanks for posting.

  • I wish I could read catala better

  • how could they not scream? they were in the presence of pure genius and musical bliss. it's overwhelming i'm sure.

  • THE KINKS ARE ONE OF THE BEST-EVER!!!

  • Hey where can we find the whole tv show somewhere dudes???

  • Sounds great! But the most fantastic version I`ve ever heard is on Dave`s CD "Live at the Rock Bottom Line" NYC. Unbelievable good! As well as "I need you". Best album ever!

  • Comment removed

  • The only thing I would like to say is that Dave's voice was made for that kind of music. God, he sounds amazing.

  • Great groundwork for so many versions of Milk Cow Blues, but the best is the "new dance" version Aerosmith throws down.

  • e eu que pensava que esta musica era do aerosmith

caraca como pude ser tao burro

  • I really hate all those girls screaming. Shut up and listen to the music you dumb bitches!

  • This is the sixities, they were a pop band, a very good looking pop band. If i was a teenage girl i'd be screaming.

  • @eirinikos they just want dave's babies

  • @eirinikos dont talk to my grandma like that!!!!

  • And this song was one that Bob Will's wrote and played at the Cain's Ballroom in Tulsa in the 40's -yee hah says Bob

  • One of the Greatest songs of the sixties

performed by an actual sixties band...loved it then and still do..British invasion meets the blues..Beatles Stones

and Kinks all hit about the same time...all good....

  • Dave is singing this one!

  • It is SO nuts to think that I am actually a year older than Dave was in this clip! I mean, that is making me feel ancient and I am only 19! It's amazing that those boys managed to accomplish so much when they were still so young.

  • There are lots of versions of "Milk Cow Blues" out there, but the KinKs version remains the gold standard.

And for the guy who asked for Spanish:

Existen varias versiones de ésta canción, pero la versión de los KinKs supera a todos.

  • Did the kinks originaly write this song?

  • Milk Cow Blues Boogie was recorded in the 1930's by a guy named Kokomo Arnold. I believe it was penned by Sleepy John Estes, a U.S. blues guitarist. Somebody else can jump in and correct this if I'm wrong.

  • HANDS DOWN!

this is the best cover ive ever heard of this song.

    Even Elvis covered this.

Rock On! i love the Kinks!

  • IM FREAKIN HORNY! t

  • Yeahh│♥│K for KINKS....•♫•

  • This is awesome; dig it!

  • jajajajajaja posaho també en anglès, quina risa

  • This was a nice gem. I'm surprised that it wasn't included in the Kinks' "Shindig" video that was released in the early 1990s. It's an excellent live performance. I don't know why Ray was singing into a dead microphone, though. Dave's the lead, and the song is killer!!!

  • You're right, the song is killer! But the boys actually share the lead. That is Ray singing!

  • Aerosmith has made a version of this cover as awesome as this.

  • one of the best r'n'b covers ever, really love this song, it's 3' 44'' in the original recordings, it's a nasty groove rocker, love the dancing girls this one should be remade with the original sound recordings and a full lenght set of dancing beauties, that dress looks good going down, right!

  • Best of blues music, what I heared in life a nice one.

  • dave davies is a badass

  • These guys are groovy.

  • ponlo en castellano también, joder... que no todos los españoles hablamos catalán

  • Good to hear this song - to my mind the best one on Kink Kontroversy. I used to play it over and over again when I bought it 41 years ago...

  • So cool, so hot!
