I was really surprised to hear the video actually point out the big flaw and misconception about the multi-ground electrode plugs.
There are a lot of companies that make it seem like having more than one ground allows you to ignite the mixtures better and faster, when in reality you are significantly hurting your combustion efficiency at a cost of being able to run a plug longer.... good stuff.
i have an Mercedes E200 Kompressor....when i buy it she have sparck with 3 plugs.....i chenge them ...with a bosch 1 plug sparck....0000.....i replace them with the old NGK 3 plug spark...
The pure understanding of combustion is ignition of the fuel air mixture. The single unit over the 2,3, and 4 is the ability to ignite all areas together the single with a standard electrode offers agreat wide platform of spark, thus a bigger spark which equels a better stronger explosion. multi units block the spark from areas of fuel air ready to fire. Very simple .
Multi Ground Plugs Must be offset with higher voltage and amperage to fulfill the heat issues. If not, you will usually see Fuel Fouling as the most common issue. If you think it is BS, then read up on Heat range issues with Multi Grounding Spark plugs. I believe that is a Engineering Flaw. Multi Ground Plugs must have a hotter Heat Range to fix the Flame Kernel, Engineers have yet to figure this out.
NGK does not recommend multi-ground electrode spark plugs for replacement where the original plug design did not call for them. This does not mean a multi-ground electrode plug would not work, but by application, NGK makes no recommendation.
I find most car owners that I have been asking if they would like they spark plug changed to the modern ones don't want these modern spark plugs. People are skeptical about these new developments. And most mechanics don't want to take the responsibility of recommending these modern spark plugs to customers.
@Adriangrosvenor THEY DONT MAKE ANY CHANGE TO ENGINES, some ignoant mechanics says 4 poles can even damage engine, bull shit, it just give igniability, and thats good.
About loosing temperature fo the flame kernel, another bullshit, its very hot inside, also these sparks can be hotter or colder you choose.
this is my problem this clip is very very true, but multiple sparkplugs look good :))

i use ngk laser platinums on my impreza cause that's what the manual asks for. but the manual also asks to replace the plugs every 30k miles!?

@immortal4942 i use iridium
rizegraymon1 2 weeks ago
Great for Helicopters and prop planes pretty useless for cars especially since Iridium plugs got introduced.

@CapnCrossbones i mean the singe electrode Irridiums btw they do not burn out easy and they are cheaper than multi electrodes.
