  • Sometimes when walking/running a Siberian isn't enough to burn out that energy, it's time to call in the treadmill. There are all sorts of ways to tire out a dog, this is one of them. Some people who leave negative comments need to grow up. If the dog isn't in danger, there's not need for bad comments. It is not like the dog is being choked while trying to keep up with the treadmill. He looks pretty happy. I mean come, we humans use the treadmill as well to get a nice workout in.

  • Guys calm your tits he is like 2 steps away, he would scoop kodiak up if he was in real danger, also note that certain knots will give way when enough force is applied, its easy to learn how to tie the knot.

  • You said "Save" him. Nuff said. ^calls Chuck Norris^

  • Maybe a harness so he isnt choking himself half the time. Even if he does not look like he in danger it may be uncomfortable to him. Just a friendly suggestion =)

  • i like this idea because im not really the running type and my cousins have one of these and they do this as well but hold on to the leash instead of tying it

  • You're an asshole and idiot also.

  • everyone needs to shut the fuck up its just a dog its not like hes hurting a human

  • telling us to calm down and grow up? the only reason anyone would put a choke collar on their dog while on the treadmill is so they can get their stupid fuckin video up... as u can see ur not the first... so go find something better to do... like finding better owners for ur dog

  • @timlee2891... my, my, my. how stupid you are. this video has been up for three years plus at this point and you must realize that only in the last year did it eclipse 1,000 views. i am stunned that it is being watched as much as it is. the last time i checked it was at 5500 and that amazed me... now 6 months later it is at 16,500 and i am floored. did i EVER expect this many views? no. just showing/ documenting Kodiak on a Treadmill for the 2nd time.

  • @jasonallen347 lol. tell me. why else would you post a video of this on youtube? the only reason you wouldn't expect views on a dog video is if you have been living in a cave for the past 10 years. people come onto youtube and watch dog videos after dog videos for hours on end.

But all of that is beside the point. I don't care whether or not you want attention, I am simply saying that you shouldn't put a leash on your dog while hes on the treadmill. Is it that hard to understand why its bad?

  • i think it's good that you give the dog exsersise by running on the treadmill, but you should take the leash/ collar off, so he car go off when he feels like i :) i agree with you i can't run that long either, the threadmill is a good option because sibirian huskies need alot of eksersise, i know i have a gordon setter. But she is afraid of the treadmill, luckely we live close to the forrest fo i let here run and hunt there, to get the eksersis she needs :D cool video. ^^

  • He don't look very happy!!! This SUCKS me!!! YOU are stupid!!!

  • i watched your video with an open mind, but mate this is wrong,i understand you are trying to keep the dog fit and you may not always have time to walk him, but there is no way that dog is enjoying that, he has no choice but to run or be strangled, you would want your kids to be fit and healthy but you would not tie them to a treadmill and film them. i am not gonna call you a dick or insult you but please stop doing this, please see all these people who comment may just have a point...

  • @ynwalfc444 ... realize it was his 2nd time on the machine. he got much better over time.

  • For everyone saying this is cruel...Vets prescribe stuff like this. Sometimes if they are working with an animal they will put them on a treadmill. They do it for horses too. It's not animal cruelty.

  • I hope someday someone put you on a leash and puts you on a treadmill

  • You give the god no chance stopping.. youre a fucking fag

  • @avaasevideonyt dog* and yes he's a fag

  • @jasonallen347 Maybe if you weren't abusing your dog people would stop "posting such negative comments" and disliking it.

  • I think you should put a harness on Kodiak when hes on the mill. That way if he does slip a bit it wont choke his neck and or scare him, it"ll instead just tug at his mid section

  • i think treadmill sare good for dogs, and i know you will step in at anytime, but it looks like its going to fast, or is that just how the camera makes it, anyways love the video makes me watn to go run with my dog, if we didnt live in florida

  • sut the fuk up fat man

  • to many idiots -_- These dogs can walk for miles a day..... if you dont walk a huskie often it will break out and walk its self.... not everyone has time to take there dog 20mile walks everyday

  • Chill people. Huskies are active dogs, he's there to step in if anything happens and if you check out his other videos it's obvious he loves his dogs.

  • people are idiots. Theyd rather put dogs in sweaters and treat them as children or accessories instead of dogs who need exercise.

IF Cesar Millan, "The Dog Whisperer", recommends this to people he visits, with proper supervision, it MUST be okay.

  • wtf is wrong with you, this dog is OBVIOUSLY not having a good time and this is just dangerous!!

  • why you so mean ?

  • why have a leash, just sit at the front with some treats or his fav toy, he will run to get it XD

  • doont mind these stupid people but one thing is true you should of been holding the leash instead of tying it so that if he does slip up you can let him off easy ....BUT people need to understand that dogs have way more energy and stamina than humans .. as long as u still take him for 2 walks a day ur good

  • I LOVE seeing this! So many people think that they can own a Husky and not give them the adequate exercise to avoid behavioral problems. Walking a Husky just doesn't cut it. They are bred for endurance. You would have to be a marathon runner to properly keep this pup sane. It is good that you are right there to stop the treadmill if the pup should trip.

  • wow he almost slipped and fell and yet you STILL filmed him...good job..keep up the good work...fucking idiot...obviously you're too lazy to walk your dog...and you sound like a fag btw

  • it is the best way to train the husky and the best way to make him run for a long time thank you for this great video

  • what happens if the animal falls with this leash tied to it?

pretty ugly possibility, dont you think?

  • There are many dog owners that are no longer physically able to exercise their dog. This enables them to exercise their dog, so that they do not have to give the dog up to an animal shelter, and the likelihood of the dog having to be destroyed because no one wants to own it.

  • Take the leash, moron!!

  • Some of you people have no clue, if you watch professional programs people who have fat dogs and dogs that need a lot of exercise use this technique all the time. They use this technique to train grey hounds and whippets for races. The leash is there to keep them on the treadmill, without the leash the dog would get off. As the owner has said the dog is 2 and a half now so stop hating the video it's not cruel at all. it was his second time on the treadmill so he will slip a few times.

  • @MyDesireToDance you are awesome. thank you for your support. i appreciate someone who can see the video for what it is. thank you.

  • @MyDesireToDance fail because this dog was not fat in that video and all the people don´t know that you should go 1 minute for a walk each 1 week lifetime.. and necklace is shit in any situation..and the dog owners should can afford a harness for 30 bugs! Way better for the bones.. these dogs are that dogs which are going to have operations on their bones after some years.. don´t push them too hard especialy where is no snow all the time (snow is good for the wrists)

  • @MyDesireToDance i agree the dog is also a husky and they were bred to be energetic it is just a form of excersize

    NOT ANIMAL CRUELTY! :)

  • really loose the leash om the treadmill

  • your a dick

  • @Charmed66Fan why am i a dick? explain.

  • @jasonallen347 if the dog stops running the collor is gona kill him duuhh immagine if u were the dog??? wouldnt tht be sort of scary?!?!?! >=( gosh dog toreturers!!!

  • wow dude your are the same as me

  • ok, to all the dumb-asses who decide to post a comment. look at the entire description FIRST, then realize that this video is over 2 1/2 years old.

  • Someone call Humane Society! What's up with that leash?

  • How about you take that leash and run outside with the dog vs. tying it to a treadmill

  • @chelzeydarling i don't know about you, but i can't run for an hour at 7mph to get my dogs the exercise they need, so this works. also, read the updated description.

  • nice.. my siberian husky do her treadmill too and she loves it and running on treadmill is good specially in bad weather

  • Tierquäler !

  • zal , jakie nieogary psa na bierzni :HAHAH

  • Gonna have to agree with most people here. Slow it down, and remove the leash.

I have several huskies, and I also use a treadmill for training & exercise. My newest is now three months old; on her first time she used a body harness, held by myself at 1.5 miles per hour, until she was use to walking on the treadmill. Once she got the hang of it, I bumped it up to 2MPH and removed the leash from her harness.

Remember the saying "learn to walk before you run"? It applies here too.

  • that dog is so nice those are my favorite dogs

  • please take off the leash...

  • wow your dog almost got seriously hurt. its not smart at all tying a leash to the treadmill. why don't you get your lazy ass out and walk your dog.

  • just cruel and horrible.. i hope this doesn't become a trend. and i hope you gain some respect for animals.

  • mabye slow it down..

  • its not good to exercise puppy dogs it could damage his lungs and overall wellness

  • @tropicalbananas1 ... are you an idiot? it is not good to exercise my dog? he is a siberian husky... he was bred to run 10 hours a day pulling hundreds of pounds on a sled over the snow. also, this was his second time on the machine, so all you people who have issues with it. chill out. he is 2y3m now and runs easily.

  • arggghghhh...you do not know how to treadmill train a dog at all...several times your dog slipped and could have been severely hurt because he was tied too tightly to the treadmill and couldn't hop off for safety. I have seen professionals train dogs on treadmills and this was cruel. Shame on you, sir. Instead of being lazy, you ought to bring your dog for a real walk outside.

  • @jasonallen347 Just because he was bred to run 10 hours straight doesn't mean he has the conditioning and training to do so..

  • @jasonallen347 The hundreds of pounds huskies pull on sleds have specially designed harnesses to evenly distribute the weight capacity around there body . In no way does it distribute weight toward the dogs neck as this collar and leash will. weather the dog has or has not been hurt yet by this it is irrelevant to the fact that it is not a safe means of having the dog get the amount of exercise it needs to be healthy. The proper way to get him his exercise is to run and walk it more youtself.

  • I tied you to the treadmill and told you to run

  • You torture a dog you do not train: (

  • @MrCassidamius nope, yelling at him works better

  • Hey, take off the leash, when he slips that it kinda cruel....he could get hurt

  • @MargaretCalifornia

he was slipping and kept looking down wondering how to stop it, gradual exercising your pup should work best instead of an excessive jumpstart

  • minus the leash

  • its good theory, but tying your dog to the treadmill is bad form, maybe get him up there with the leash, but once hes on, take that off, hes slipped multiple times and if 'kodiak' does fall, it will be ugly, recomendation: lose the leash once hes on the tredmill

  • he's so cute! good boy, Kodiak relax buddy lol

  • hehe my huskys lazy..he'll put his front two paws on the front and run with his back legs..but i fixed that with some training :]
