Wow, you look great only 4 days after giving birth! I'm 25 years old and married. My husband and I aren't planning on having kids at the moment but I'm at that age where it becomes more of a possibility. Quite honestly the whole process of pregnancy, birth, and what my body would be like after scares me to death. It's great to see the benefits of excercise and a healthy lifestyle during pregnancy and postpartum. Your video has helped ease some of my fears and sets a wonderful example. Congrats!
Am so proud of you. too many women use pregnancy as an excuse to be lazy over eat and the main cause of being over weight.....U are a good example that pregnancy is not a disability. in the third world women work in the fields, do manual domestic work til the day they give birth, stay active and give birth to healthy children...just one question, did you use the postpartum belt?
its not the exercise thats bad its some types of physical exertion that can be harmful but you seem to have it totally sorted i think its awsome you managed to stay fit throughout your whole pregnancy thats ledgendary, sweet belly too...
I wish I could reap the benefits of doing some exercise while being pregnant, but I did not work out prior to getting pregnant. So I feel that it would be bad just to spring up and do it at 5 months. I wonder if walking would be ok, or a fast pace walk, would you talk to your doctor first about this? Just hearing how easy your birth was makes me want to do something, and did you breastfeed to shrink your uterus back down? You look really great for 4 days!! Like you didn't have a baby at all.
People will always try to criticize what you do when you are pregnant....you work out too hard, you don't work out at all, you eat too much, you don't eat enough. I think you did a fabulous job at staying fit. I worked out throughout my last pregnancy and had a great natural hypnobirthing delivery, painless and I completely contribute it to working out. I just had a miscarriage and know that working out 3 days after D&C kept me from being depressed and ready to start again in September. Kudos!!!
You look amazing! I am really proud that you know who you are and what worked for you and that you don't listen to people who say rude things or tell you it's wrong. I'm not pregnant yet but you are an inspiration for me to get fit and in better shape not only to have a baby but during pregnancy and after as well. Thank you! p.s. Have you shared your story with Oxygen magazine? You should!
I wanted to add that it totally makes sense to exercise during pregnancy. Giving birth is the most physcial natural bodily process there is. If you'd train to run a marathon, it stands to reason you'd want to be as fit as possible for giving birth, to have strong muscles to push the baby out. When I hear about some labours lasting 30 odd hours, assuming it's not due to the baby being in a baby position, I wonder if a contributing factor is b/c many ppl aren't very fit, even obese
Wow, I'm blown away by how amazing you look only 4 days post partum! Are you related to the Victoria's Secret supermodels? (you know, since they're back to runway shape within 10 weeks) ;-)
She weighed 6 pounds, 11 ounces at birth, healthy as can be according to my doctor. She is now 5 months old and 16 pounds...perfect and healthy! She is a very calm baby and easy to soothe...sleeps great...some studies say exercising during pregnancy can help your baby be more relaxed after birth. I ended up gaining 21 lbs..but then lost three the week I gave birth because it was so hot and nasty out I couldn't eat :)
@imayummygirl oh one other thing - I have lost all my baby weight and more - for me, returning to exercise right after birth was just fine and very helpful. My doctor continues to support all of the choices I have made with my decision to exercise before, during and after pregnancy. Good luck to you if you decide to make exercise part of your pregnancy!
@newsworthy822 thats great! im 35 weeks pregnant and feel so tired and lazy i wish i liked to exercise but im also retaining alot of water like in my 1st pregnancy i dont know whats causing that but im looking not healthy becuz of it.
your belly looks nice, but you shouldn't run 4 days after giving birth. that's just stupid! u should stay at home for 1 month and then u can do whatever, its just to early!
@eajjdb Are you a doctor? I refuse to accept ridiculously outdated guidelines about how long a person should wait after giving birth before resuming execise. What I do with my body is between me and my doctor. She was fully supportive of my exercise program. Furthermore, I never STOPPED exercising (I ran the day I gave birth) so I never really had to "start" again. I had no pain, and I used my head and listened to my body instead of following some stupid guidelines. I wouldn't change a thing.
@eajjdb are you a idiot my wife had a c section and was home and back to work withitn 7 days and shes a cna at hospitol anydoctor will tell you its best to get back to normal activitys if your able no one wants to sit around eiither learn what you are preaching
U look great! I'm three days postpartum with twins and my belly has gone down a lot to say I had two babies! I can't wait to get my body back in shape..don't worry about haters!
@candy147 Thank you! I really appreciate your comment. It gets me down when people badmouth me for wanting to exercise...when it has so many benefits. It has helped me in many ways post partum and I wouldn't change a thing about my exercise program. I am not saying everyone should exercise 4 days after giving birth - I just figured people would be smart enough to know I did it only because I am used to it and my doctor supported it. Good luck to you -let me know if there's anything I can do.
@newsworthy822 btw your smokin hot dont worrry about these rude minded ppl that dont no what they are talking about. my wife is a cna and 7 days after giving birth her doctor cleared her to go back to work and exersize.my wife tould me to say do what makes you feel good not anyone else wants you to do she also says exersize is a good way to get some down time for you and some qaulity time for baby an daddy and ha i agree congrats
u r crazy running 4 days post baby.. i hope people dont think that is ok.. because it really isnt.. your body needs to heal -- many health risks go into workin out that hard post baby.. i am not sure how you could leave your child to go to the gym when she is only 4 days old.. my god...
@MaRiSa22Bunny Of course there will be haters who will criticize. I am not advocating that anyone else does what I do, just sharing what worked for me. For a highly trained person, what I am doing is perfectly fine. There is nothing wrong with taking 30 minutes away from the baby to have a little time to yourself. It helps prevent post partum depression.
@MaRiSa22Bunny by the way, how dare you suggest I cannot take a half hour away from my baby to exercise??? I am a great mom...and a very trained runner, so I know how to listen to my body. My doctor is also a runner and encouraged me to LISTEN TO MY OWN BODY and to return to exercise when I felt I was ready. Exercise makes me a better mom and wife. If anyone is stupid enough to watch my videos and think they can start running when their body is not used to it - then that's their problem.
@MaRiSa22Bunny you sound like a babbling mindless idiot... really? you are trying to tell her she is a bad mother for working out? go troll somewhere else
I am wondering about Shakeology. If you had an eating regimen that worked while you were pregnant, why do you want to go back to Shakeology? I just started P90X last Saturday and I'm really struggling with the nutrition part. I had been on a calorie deficit plan but eating very healthy. I'd lbeen osing weight steadily for 4 weeks (from 185 to 170) Once I start P90X, my steady weight loss stopped... which didn't surprise me but I am unable to (post 1/2)
@5w33ti3 (post 2/2) figure out how to eat this past week because I'd been focusing on vegetables, fruit, beans, oatmeal, lean meat, whole grains. Now I'm supposed to have 7 servings of protein, only 4 veg, & 1 serving of beans (if I want to use my 1 carb for that)... anyway, is Shakeology something useful for phase 1, and what box do I check off for it (protein, carb, etc)? I can't wait to be out of this confusing nutrition phase! I'm 5'11", goal is to drop body fat 27->~20 and be active.
@5w33ti3 Hello, shakeology is low in carbs.. 13 grams per serving I believe - also it is very nutrient rich and contains phytonutrients, plant extracts and crazy amounts of vitamins. I went back to it because it makes me feel amazing, gave me tons of energy, helped my digestive system, skin, hair, nails, etc. I don't know much about the nutrition plan they give you with P90X. The only thing that works for me is controlling carbs- and eating, real, whole foods.
Thank you for sharing your story, this is the very reason why i believe exercise will be great for me - you look brilliant and you seem like you have lots of energy. How are you finding time to work out now that Emilyn is here?
@LouLou230705 You are very welcome! I always find time to work out, it's an appointment I try very hard not to miss. Today I did P90X while Emilyn slept in her swing next to me : ) I also have a very supportive husband which helps a ton...he will watch the kids when I go to the gym. I will try to post some more tips in my next vid. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Your daughter and I share a birthday!!!!!
