Also I went to all the home depots in my town and all they had was some Bondies stump remover which contains chlorine which you don't want. So I ordered a lb of it from eBay for around $10

It's actually not it's ammonium nitrate

NH4NO3 using a double replacement with another chemical(I forgot the name) that contains potassium you get KNO3 but you have to remove the other substance so it's not that easy

you don't need to order kno3 from an online store you can buy it at the hardware store as stump remover

Or you can go to publix and buy the instant cold packs. cut it open, pull out the water packet and the powder is potassium nitrate.

I got it on eBay. It's used as plant fertiliser and shouldn't be too hard to find, or expensive.

It is plant fertiliser. It could be because it's mixed with other stuff for the plants...

Try getting a little bit and burning it. Make sure you do it safely!

You could get a small container and make a really basic small smoke bomb and see how it turns out.

It might even burn with blue smoke, depends what the other ingredient is. :)

dont use that blue stuff it might take longer but search for potasium nitrate and buy it on google but dont use thhat it made poisonus fumes and almost made my eyes bleed

Perhaps I'll give it a go without any baking soda... I'll have to make several of them with different amounts of ingredients to find the optimum mix.

hi guy's, good efforts :P.. next time try to wetting youre mix and then diisolve every bit of mix in it, i use 50 grams kno3 and 50 grams of sugar, then use 2 tubes one for the mix another one to cool the smoke down, if you see a flame its to hot and burns youre yield, so thats less smoke. the water really mixes the 2 components together and also use a lil spoon of bakin soda to slow down to burn rates it gives more smoke..

Any reason for the 5/5 mix? Everywhere I've read has said 6/4.

I think I'll be doing this again before too long, when I've got some different dye. You have any suggestions for the dye? Dylon is absolutely useless for this purpose.
