Barney Liddell and I played Dixieland and some big band together for several years in the 1990s. He was a kind man, and I could tell that although his physique indicated otherwise, he strove to have a positive thing to say about everyone, including Lawrence. I will not forget him.

What great players! Jack Martin was such a fine soprano sax...you can hear him on many excellent Kay Kyser records c. 1940-42.
