Dante was never half angel half devil, the game runs at 30fps, this Dante is an only child [no vergil]. A reboot doesn't mean its canon, a reboot is an entire changeup. We may never ever see vergil again. If this new Dante is part angel and part devil then why does he look human? this whole shit doesnt make sense. This is a different game, so everyone so people thatre sayin this is Dantes past, are misinformed. Things that were cool 12 years ago are still cool, the fuck is Ninja Theory on about.

They end just when he takes the shower in the begining of 3. Also, play the DmC vids in HD an look the details and amount of pixels nodes... They suck, that's because the 30fps. DMC 4 was smoother because of the locked 60fps. I miss Reuben Langdon voice too...

The First Volume is before the first Devil May Cry and the Second is after the first Devil May Cry... The were released in 2003. In 2006, Capcom released a third novel called "Deadly Fortune" wich is about DMC 4... Part of this novel is written on DMC 4 manual...

I'm hoping the gameplay is as fluid a Bayonetta. I came back to DMC4 after finishing Bayonetta thinking itd be around the same thing but it just felt so choppy and bland.

OK here's my problem with moving on to this Dante. If they wanted to keep us interested in this Dante, then Capcom wouldn't have put the REAL Dante in Marvel vs Capcom 3 which sold millions and would spark peoples interest in Devil May Cry and reawaken old memories of good ol' Dante. WTF Capcom? I feel as though they're saying,
"Here's the New Dante! LIKE HIM! Oh Btw we're putting the more widely accepted Dante in a game you like so as not to cause conflict......right?"

Totally respect that reply. It's just not your type of reboot and that is understandable. It can't be for everyone, but just wish people would stop ranting about it if they don't like it or not going to buy it. The first game in the time line is Devil May Cry 3 followed by Devil May Cry, Devil May Cry 4 and Devil May Cry 2. The Devil May Cry anime series is set sometime between Devil May Cry and Devil May Cry 4. The manga acts as a prequel that leads up to the events of Devil May Cry 3. DmC is an origin story that reveals how Dante comes to grips with his demonic heritage.

It will run on 30 frames per second (Gee didnt know we were still using PS2s) and his Devil Trigger is nothing more than a glorified air combo. He basically knocks his enemies into the air and as long as you can not touch the ground time will stay still and you can unleash a devil trigger aerial combo.

I think everyone assumes its somewhat like the DT but a more lower and weaker version. He don't look slow at all to me... and notice that his hair turns white and his coat turns red when he activates his devil trigger...it is a prequel after all, it looks decent...I just hopes it's perfect when it finally comes out.
I'm kind of glad they made a change in the environments because I seriously got tired of fighting in a castle all the damn time except for Devil May Cry 3. Maybe they will add a lot of stuff to the gameplay who knows they may have you fighting on all types of shit like in Bayonetta, DMC forever.

Also, a lot of fans actually liked the character of Dante...not just the gameplay. Those similarities...

We were supposed to be getting a "genre defining" game with a "dark and brutal atmosphere" and "environmental interaction during gameplay". This atmosphere is anything but dark and brutal as the environments are so brightly lit and so horribly colored that it kills any kind...

The animations are incomplete (after sixteen months of gameplay programming and a full year of preproduction, this is unacceptable) as when they show "Dante" kick, it cuts away as the animation is incomplete, the bullets coming from the gun looks like a stream of yellow light, at several points the enemies don't react to...
@DarkCrescendo ...anything "Dante" is doing (basically anytime the single enemy type is shown) or even when he hits them (look at the group of enemies that he hits at 0:37...they are consumed in a red light and fly off screen. Look at the enemies he hits at 0:39 with the Streak animation...they are simply thrown off the ground with minimal reaction...), the weapon animations are laughable as they are constantly shrouded in light each time they are swung (meaning NT is trying to hide...
@DarkCrescendo ...something), and no matter how Dante is attacking the enemy the same "hurt/stunned" animation is used throughout the trailer. The hit detection is absolutely piss poor. Look at 0:38...Dante hits the enemy who is behind him and two feet away. Look at 0:05 to 0:12...no matter how Dante hits that enemy (whether it be in the torso, the legs, the crotch, etc.), blood spurts from the same spot from its back. Look at 0:39...Dante doesn't hit anything, yet all three enemies are...

Look at 0:45..."Dante" clearly slices vertically through that enemies torso, yet the enemy is cleaved HORIZANTALLY in half, and its not even near the same area. Now lets get to the enemies. Their seems to be absolutely no, or atleast very little, enemy AI put into place yet. The enemies almost never attack Dante (I'm sure I missed a single spot here or there), they generally don't react to anything, and just stagger...

On to the environments...There is nothing in them. Sure, they are massive...but there are, at max, four or five enemies in them (smells a lot like DMC 2) and there seems to be nothing but pretty architecture (like with the entire game of DMC 2). There is also little diversity as we are treated to only one new room in this...

Because the air combo at 0:05 shows that you can immobilize your enemies and land a ten hit combo or more (they cut away before the animations were finished) on a single enemy with ease, and there is nothing that said enemy can do about it. In fact, no of the enemies were able to do ANYTHING to counter any of "Dante's" attacks...they were completely helpless. On top of this, "Dante's" new...

Dante was never half angel half devil, the game runs at 30fps, this Dante is an only child [no vergil]. A reboot doesn't mean its canon, a reboot is an entire changeup. We may never ever see vergil again. If this new Dante is part angel and part devil then why does he look human? this whole shit doesnt make sense. This is a different game, so everyone so people thatre sayin this is Dantes past, are misinformed. Things that were cool 12 years ago are still cool, the fuck is Ninja Theory on about.

@Needlesstosay009 People stop trying to fit this in the old saga cause it's non canon, if you wanna know what happened with Dante before DMC 3, read the novels. They end just when he takes the shower in the begining of 3. Also, play the DmC vids in HD an look the details and amount of pixels nodes... They suck, that's because the 30fps. DMC 4 was smoother because of the locked 60fps. I miss Reuben Langdon voice too...

The First Volume is before the first Devil May Cry and the Second is after the first Devil May Cry... The were released in 2003. In 2006, Capcom released a third novel called "Deadly Fortune" wich is about DMC 4... Part of this novel is written on DMC 4 manual...

& i loved every one of them, & DMC is new game of devil may cry, i cant judge if the game is good or bad by gameplay videos on internet or by how the hero of the game look like, & im gonna try the game by myself & judge it ... there are thing you should try it by yourself b4 you judge it.

OK here's my problem with moving on to this Dante. If they wanted to keep us interested in this Dante, then Capcom wouldn't have put the REAL Dante in Marvel vs Capcom 3 which sold millions and would spark peoples interest in Devil May Cry and reawaken old memories of good ol' Dante. WTF Capcom? I feel as though they're saying,
"Here's the New Dante! LIKE HIM! Oh Btw we're putting the more widely accepted Dante in a game you like so as not to cause conflict......right?"

The first game in the time line is Devil May Cry 3 followed by Devil May Cry, Devil May Cry 4 and Devil May Cry 2. The Devil May Cry anime series is set sometime between Devil May Cry and Devil May Cry 4. The manga acts as a prequel that leads up to the events of Devil May Cry 3. DmC is an origin story that reveals how Dante comes to grips with his demonic heritage.

@1GODOFWAR1 Nope.avi After reading an in-depth article on gameinformer they released some details about the gameplay. It will run on 30 frames per second (Gee didnt know we were still using PS2s) and his Devil Trigger is nothing more than a glorified air combo. He basically knocks his enemies into the air and as long as you can not touch the ground time will stay still and you can unleash a devil trigger aerial combo.
.....sorry but no. Very shitty and gimmicky move ninja theory.

PLus this is dante a 17 b4 his demon powers had awakened which is why is hair isn't completely white yet. The white hair slowly growing in, essentially he's going through demon puberty.

they made Eva (Dante's mother) an angel, so now Dante is half angel and half demon.... -.-" they made it so he has an angel trigger and a devil trigger, i like the idea of this yeah... but turning Eva into an angel kinda kills the whole story.... also the scythe is an angel weapon and the axe and whip is a demon weapon, you get different weps for the different sides, again cool idea but... it kinda raped the story in the ass without lube... and i liked the story alot T.T

you know... there is nothing on the trailer or the previous trailers saying that when he goes white haired, its the DT. I think everyone assumes its somewhat like the DT but a more lower and weaker version. Lets say, this version of dante is like a super saiyan and when he goes white haired, its a super saiyan 2, when he goes all hardcore and shit and turns into a demon, its super saiyan 3.
in other words, DMC (the previous games) he was always in Super saiyan 2. anyone get what im saying? :P

I'm kind of glad they made a change in the environments because I seriously got tired of fighting in a castle all the damn time except for Devil May Cry 3. Maybe they will add a lot of stuff to the gameplay who knows they may have you fighting on all types of shit like in Bayonetta, DMC forever.

And is Nero realy Virgils son. I have no clue. As much as i want to say he is I dont recall virgil having a giant demon claw. Well............. then agian in his devil trigger he was pretty strong. And he did use alot of blueflames. Kinda like the blue demonic energy comeing of Nero in his devil trigger. Wow........ i feel bad cuz i think Nero might be a bit cooler........... Nah

Also all u Virgil fans JUST SHUT UP!!! If u dont know what happend to Virgil that just shows how much a DMC fan u realy are. Virgil tried to kill Mundus but was defeated. Mundus than cold heartedly used Virgils departed soul to attack Dante. They fought 3 times. But Dante killed him on the last. And when he did Virgils aumlet thingy fell. And Dante unlocked the power of sparda. The secret power that the aumlet possesed that Virgil so desperately wanted.

You guys are not even DMC fans. Your just Dante fans. And the funny thing is your not even realy Dante fans cuz DMC4 was mainly about Nero and DMC3 was Dantes younger years. And not even half of you have DMC1. And that was probally the best one story wise. And you guys are complaining about this when DMC2 was 10 times worse. And i actually think DMC2 is pretty fun. We get it! Dante looks stupid in this game. GET OVER IT!!! A real DMC fan would get it regardless of how he looks.

@demonblade56 Yeah, and I'm pretty sure that I pointed out just how flawed the gameplay is when the attack animations aren't even fully complete, there is minimal enemy AI, there are framerate problems, etc. This all has to do with gameplay. Oh, and yes, I do know why this is called DmC...Capcom wants to capitalize on the success of the other games in the franchise to make a quick buck. Also, a lot of fans actually liked the character of Dante...not just the gameplay. Those similarities...

@DarkCrescendo ...that I pointed out are EXACTLY what Capcom was claiming wouldn't happen. We were supposed to be getting a "genre defining" game with a "dark and brutal atmosphere" and "environmental interaction during gameplay". Bayonetta, Devil May Cry 3, Devil May Cry 4, God of War, etc. blow this game out of the water, so that first part was a lie. This atmosphere is anything but dark and brutal as the environments are so brightly lit and so horribly colored that it kills any kind...

Finally...where is this so called "world building stuff"? After 16 months of gameplay programming and a full year of preproduction, you'd think we'd at least see something...but no. I dont think that DMC fans are mad because of dante's hair, its the characteristic of the new dante, it just doesn't seems like him. plus the graphic is not even close to dmc4's graphic, as a new game series comes out, it should get better not worst.

@iainSOcool well just look at it, if any dmc fans were told 2 give this game a name before they even saw any trailers or anything, they wouldnt even think about dmc, im not being judgemental, but its the truth capcom fucked up. when i saw the first trailer i was like okay. then i saw a gameplay, then this. it doesnt seems like a dmc game even if it is a reboot. btw when i saw dmc4 i was amazed, and i wouldnt call damc4 an unfun game, how is it unfun, maybe its cuz you're not a troo dmc fan.

@iainSOcool it runs at 30fps or less (knowing Ninja Theory), meaning less responsive controls, low onscreen enemy count, and overall slower gameplay. The animations are incomplete (after sixteen months of gameplay programming and a full year of preproduction, this is unacceptable) as when they show "Dante" kick, it cuts away as the animation is incomplete, the bullets coming from the gun looks like a stream of yellow light, at several points the enemies don't react to...

@DarkCrescendo ...anything "Dante" is doing (basically anytime the single enemy type is shown) or even when he hits them (look at the group of enemies that he hits at 0:37...they are consumed in a red light and fly off screen. Look at the enemies he hits at 0:39 with the Streak animation...they are simply thrown off the ground with minimal reaction...), the weapon animations are laughable as they are constantly shrouded in light each time they are swung (meaning NT is trying to hide...

Look at 0:38...Dante hits the enemy who is behind him and two feet away. Look at 0:05 to 0:12...no matter how Dante hits that enemy (whether it be in the torso, the legs, the crotch, etc.), blood spurts from the same spot from its back. Look at 0:39...Dante doesn't hit anything, yet all three enemies are...

Look at 0:45..."Dante" clearly slices vertically through that enemies torso, yet the enemy is cleaved HORIZANTALLY in half, and its not even near the same area. Now lets get to the enemies. Their seems to be absolutely no, or atleast very little, enemy AI put into place yet. The enemies almost never attack Dante (I'm sure I missed a single spot here or there), they generally don't react to anything, and just stagger...

@DarkCrescendo ...around the battlefield like drunks. The fact that the SINGLE enemy in this trailer is a reject from the Devil May Cry 4 Concepts Art book is hilarious. On to the environments...There is nothing in them. Sure, they are massive...but there are, at max, four or five enemies in them (smells a lot like DMC 2) and there seems to be nothing but pretty architecture (like with the entire game of DMC 2). There is also little diversity as we are treated to only one new room in this...

@DarkCrescendo ...and it is beyond generic. Moving onto gameplay. It looks laughably easy. Why? Because the air combo at 0:05 shows that you can immobilize your enemies and land a ten hit combo or more (they cut away before the animations were finished) on a single enemy with ease, and there is nothing that said enemy can do about it. In fact, no of the enemies were able to do ANYTHING to counter any of "Dante's" attacks...they were completely helpless. On top of this, "Dante's" new...

@DarkCrescendo ..."Devil Trigger" allows him to completely immobilize his enemies by leaving them suspended helplessly in the air while he slaughters them. Where is the challenge in any of this? The DMC franchise is known for its difficulty, and even praised for it. This is just what I have found in this one minute and five second trailer. Based off the interviews, they have also completely changed Dante's personality and backstory as well. Instead of being half demon/half human...

Instead of Rebellion being the physical manefestation of his power in the form of a claymore/broadsword, it has suddenly become a short sword with the ability to shapeshift. Instead of being born with his powers, he is now only just getting them. Need I say more? Oh, and I forgot to mention that they have taken out several of the series staples as well. @DarkCrescendo ...either of the two gameplay trailers, Dante's traditional styles have been taken out (instead of Swordsmaster, Gunslinger, Trickster, Royal Gaurd and the others learned styles of Doppleganger, Quicksilver, and Dark Slayer...we get Demon and Angel powers), there aren't any Devil Arms to be seen anywhere (they have been replaced by that morphing sword), we haven't seen jump canceling (present in most of the games), etc...

In regards to the weapons, the whip is merely a copy of Nero's Devil Bringer, that new sword is just a copy of Rebellion (they even call it rebellion) with Red Queen's animations along with it, those guns are the poor man's version of Ebony and Ivory, etc. Also, those sickle nunchuck weapons are a deadringer for Nariko's weapon in Heavenly Sword, that Sythce is merely a rip off of Dante's Inferno, etc. It has also been pointed out just how similar...
