@TheWerehog4ever I've driven all three now as of sunday and i can honestly say *being a big petrol head myself* that i would also take the VXR just due to character, noise, performance, looks ect. the others are better in certain areas but the VXR is not bad by any means, i found it the most involving to drive, in real life booting one around, it doesn't understeer like he shows, it does however have torque steer, but i think thats cool!

@TheWerehog4ever Yeh the Corsas look great, probably the nicest looking of the small hatches, still not the best to drive when compared with a Cooper S or Clio 197 but at the end of the day its still excellent fun and its your car and you have to look at it and drive it everyday so its always best to buy what you really want not what a review recommends, i'd personally say drive all those 3 first and see which you like best but again, i'd be the same and get the Corsa VXR just for style!

I really like top gear, but I must mention one important fact : I don't think the Opel engineers are retarded, so the car is projected and thought carefully regarding each aspect, and, yes, it has 240hp, but I really tend to deny the fact that you'll be using the full power of the car in china and enter a tree,cause I don't think you guys drive with 110mph inner city. And it's not a racetrack car, of course it has a few drawbacks, try the OPC's if you're into criticizing. 'nuff said

You still can't compare them to racing ones.

So, one of my points is that Opel, at this try out, was really underestimated.

The car should have a mid engine or a simple tractional control system that callibrates the real wheel speed to the front wheels which then backs off the performance through the EMS

i will eat my shoes the day when jeremy doesnt test a car on the track , but on the road, where it's ment to be. this astra will be very nice on the road, so what if it cannot turn like a housefly.... its pretty, its fast, its cheap...er, if its comfortable its is better than the golf. it doesnt matter that it's an opel.

The Golf is boring, the Astra does not handle. So of these three i would take the Megane, despite my concerns over its reliability. All hot hatches included i would take the Focus ST.
