In fact, Penumbra is one of the only games that really scared/scares me, i was only scared a few times in Amnesia too, alot of the monster encounters were rinse - repeat style "run and hide, continue on my way", in penumbra you actually had sentient creatures wondering the environments with weapons that were by no means easy to kill them with. Silent Hill, Resident Evil, Siren... all unscary. Penumbra (and actually, alone in the dark was VERY scary), scary.

@TheLynxie And i mean Alone in the Dark: New Nightmare, not that new one that released. Dead Space was... intense... only made me jump a few times, never actually truly SCARED me, not like Penumbra did with the large environments filled with darkness, where creatures constantly lurked in the background and tantalized you. Silent Hill wasn't scary because it's whole premise was kind of stupid actually, same with Resident Evil.

@TheLynxie it's probably because i appreciate atmosphere more then actual "scare" sequences (which most of the time are stupid, one time moments that i can predict to a T almost). Atmosphere > everything in a horror game. But that's not to say that everything can't ruin atmosphere either, just take a look at resident evil, its atmosphere is almost completely diminished because of hilariously bad controls.

Resident Evil is a joke. They're not even made by the same people anymore. Audio design teams are completely different (As a game without Audio is nothing) If you were to take out the ambience from Penumbra, it is. Well. A game that feels like they put too much effort into it. Add that ambience and you get somehting worth competing too. When you're me, all audio is horrible and must be redone.

@TheLynxie A game without audio isn't "nothing", just because your accustomed to sound doesn't mean a deaf person couldn't enjoy it. And actually, i play Penumbra with music sound at 0... Increases the intensity and realism of the whole situation beyond levels i originally thought were possible.

As for this video, I feel that you made it well. However, the audio quality could be better, and I would prefer some darker imagery, and possibly some shots of the film.

I really would have felt this if you went with..say Still Born Effect, in stead of Blade In the Dark. The lyrics are suitable, though.

I have love for the film. I feel I could have done it better, but it turned out beautiful in many ways. As a gamer, it seems near impossible to have a well-adopted film to go in a game's honour, but in no way was Silent Hill as a franchise damaged by the movie.

Jodelle Ferland played the role of Alessa Gillespie very well. I quite like her.

The only disappointment for me was the reaction of the far-too-critical fanatics. Fuck them, with a knife.
