This march, I was living in california when I got a call at 5:30 in the morning that changed everything. My younger sister tiffany had been killed instantly in a car accident. I was in a total state of shock and disbelief. I wasn't sure if I was dreaming and at the same time I felt as if I had become frozen in time.
I just want to say that I know that every relationship is a unique gift to cherish and even though I dont know you or your family I resonate deeply with your brother's passing.
(And aren't we all family, in a greater sense of the word.) I have been acquainting myself with you through your youtube videos and I admire your strength and courage to stand up for what you believe in. I was even hoping to volunteer with your campaign because I believe you to be an authentic and caring human being that has and will continue to make a difference for all of us. I will keep you in my thoughts, prayers and daily meditation's.
Below you're bickering, while one of the greatest men in America since the Revolution is saying that if the American people are ready to own America instead of being owned, he's ready to help them do it. Tired of high gas, water, electric, phone, cable, and IP bills? Dennis will put a stop to price-gouging.
Go Dennis! Time to rid our government of corporate interests and put back in the people's hands. End NAFTA and the WTO which are destroying the middle class. They do not stand for free and fair trade. Lies. They stand for corporate profit maximizing at the expense of decent wages and benefits - destroying the middle class. These policies are turning the US into a third world country, and fast. Multi-nationals don't care about Americans.
Well cityview, looks like any "conversation" with you would be an evasion. You're more like George Bush than you imagine. He can't admit he's wrong either.
There's one thing Gravel and Kucinich have in common, they're the ONLY candidates with real heart and passion. Search 'who mike gravel really is'. I would be happy with either of those guys. I'm sick of robots and puppets like Hilary & Rudy. We're all head and no heart in this country sometimes.
Thanks for standing up for the little people Dennis. I saw the rep debate and the only rep I could vote for is Ron Paul. I believe Ron once said that if he could not vote for himself he would vote for you...
You have been right all along. The war in Iraq is a disaster. We need to stop invading other countries. If we had spent the 1.7 trillion the war is projected to cost on clean energy we would be energy independent.
Get a dictionary and look up the word "Defeatist". You dont want impeachment and you dont want to stop funding the illegal invasion."They" being Bush and Cheney. Your a fool
Hey cityview, did you really read the comment. I don't think you did. I did not oppose impeachment. I did oppose funding the war. And while you charge me with being defeatist, I don't get your application of it. But, obviously , you either have a comprehension problem or you just prefer to stew in unjustifiable anger at who knows what. I'm sorry for you. Yours must be an unhappy life.
OK...so... unjustified anger creating lack of comprehension. It's right there at your core, my friend. Insulting others won't help. Prayers for your recovery. Watch your time, the coming cosmic change will be tapping you on the shoulder whether you like it or not.
Ok cityview, I'll leave you with this. All of your response was nothing more than an evasion. You were wrong in in how you read that initial comment and you couldn't admit it. You have more in common with George Bush than you can imagine. He can't admit he's wrong either.
Ok danae53, I'll leave you with this. All of your response was nothing more than an evasion. You were wrong in in how you read that initial comment and you couldn't admit it. You have more in common with George Bush than you can imagine. He can't admit he's wrong either. Soo, admit you are a defeatist George Bush Jr aka danae53
Well, at eighteen you have not yet control of the reasoning lobes. They don't develop until the age of twenty two to twenty five. This is supposed to be about Dennis Kucinich. A line of commentary regarding him. Shame it becomes nothing more than a place where some look to pitch battles.
Can't come up with anything new, eh? Where's your creativity? I believe what you have is a repeating feedback loop in your brain. Don't be offended. It's common. Sad, but, common. Keep going Bud, obviously it's what you need to do. But...please go on, you are amusing!
Ohhh, come on boy! If I were, I wouldn't still be talking to you. But, I believe that nobody is hopeless. Not you or George Bush. One just has to keep trying to understand from different angles. Progress can always be made that way. It's rather a specialty of mine. Only I usually do it with animals. I shelter the abused and neglected. Many with behavior problems having been seriously mishandled.
Hey cityview, yeah baby! You speak the truth. We've had enough of same old, same old. We need a for real approach based on people power and not corporate power. Impeach? You bet! No more war funding. No more robbing the country to benefit the corporations. No more murdering the innocent under the guise of implanting a fake democracy. Kucinich for President? You bet!
And yet one more thing. BOYCOTT all of the corporations, airlines and all, who have supported this criminal administration. Buy not one thing from the bastards. It's all they care about. Deprive them of sales and bring them to their knees.
reality check here. Unless you plan on living off the land, there's no way to do that. Maybe it would be more practical to boycott the large backers, who gave more than "typical" finance money.
Yeah, ruedix. That's exactly what I mean. I should have been more specific. THE BIG GUYS. They're the ones who have had the biggest impact on domestic and international decisions. Policy and economics have been bent to serve them. The weapons manufacturers, the oil companies and big pharmaceutical. They're tied in with so many things used in the everyday, it wouldn't be hard at all to have a people power impact.
Get a dictionary and look up the word "Defeatist". You dont want impeachment and you dont want to stop funding the illegal invasion."They" being Bush and Cheney. Your a fool
Please vote for Dennis. He does his homework, isn't corrupt. Explains thoroughly. Has concrete solutions. IS MAN ENOUGH AND COURAGEOUS to she stand up against ALL OTHER CONGRESS MEMBERS and say NO to the war before it began, costing us $16 trillion dollars. Then that is a man we want someone BOLD and fearless. Willing to give back our privacy rights as well.
I am suprised Dennis isn't doing better in the polls, You would think that a democrat who is not in bed with corporate america would do better in the democratic primary.
allegoryofthecave just calling people faggots is a sure sign of being unthinking and abusive. So who do unthinking abusive people think should be President? Clue us in.
Ron Paul & Dennis Kucinich are the only two people that seem sincere about helping normal people. I know they're views are different on many things ... but can you imagine a Republican and a Democrat running together ... that has go to be the ultimate nightmare scenario for the big two parties
Nah, it their ultimate dream, cuz they would just draw votes away from the more liberal candidate. Besides, if you're pro-choice, then why would you vote for RP?
I'm pro-choice, but I'm also pro-constitution, so I will be voting for Ron Paul. If Paul drops out, I will be voting for DK.
Roe v. Wade is unconstitutional, abortion is a state's rights issue (see article I section 8 of the Constitution and the 10th amendment). I you want to guarantee a woman's right to choose (federally), you must amend the Constitution.
You are right. Only women living in the correct states deserve the right to control their own bodies. Thanks for the super specific constitutional citing. I guess "or to the people" doesn't apply to Row v Wade.
Let's start a movement to create the 28th Amendment: "The right of a woman to have an abortion shall not be infringed by the individual states, but rather guaranteed to all citizens of the United States of America."
There's a right way and a wrong way to do things, and circumventing the Constitution is the wrong way; it has lead to the mess that we are in now.
The right of a human being - yes, even a woman - to have control over his/her own body is NOT a state's right issue any more than slavery is a state's right issue. Forcing women through unwanted pregnancy and childbirth in ANY state is a violation of basic human rights.
I agree, let's ammend the Constitution, because right now it is a state's right issue (according to the Constitution, Article I section 8 & 10th Ammendment). If we let them ignore the Constitution on this issue, it makes it easier to ignore it on other issues (slippery slope argument).
rp and dk would really balance eachother out. but they would get so sick of arguing with eachother they would have to split b/c they cant stand eachother
When you are right, first they laugh at you. Then they call you crazy. Then they say you are dangerous, and finally everyone takes credit for having had your ideas first. See generally Jefferson/Adams/Washington, Lincoln, Debbs, Ghandi, and King.
For a guy who wants to piss off liberals you probably shouldn't diss a classic conservative such as Paul. The man stands for conservatism, hardly someone liberals will cry over you dissing. Diss away on Dr. Paul.
Hate to burst everyone's bubble w/ a reality check but DK is a 21st century progressive while
RP (With all due respect to his anti war position) is still trying to be an 18th century constitutionalist. That's something even the founders would have had a hard time with.
Mr. Paul shares nothing in common with Mr. Kucinich, except their distain for the war. Mr. Kucinich stands for Universal Health Care. He stands for the people, not the corporations. Mr. Paul is a laise-faire capitalist, like the 19th century robber barons. They have nothing in common.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
who owns dennis? moveonorg, greenpeace, code pink etc. Those fringe groups are the problem in America becuase they try to divide the country. Years ago, there was no weirdo groups like that.
"December 15, 2007 their trying to gather at least 100,000 people to donate $100 to the Kucnich campaign which would equal 10 million in one day. If you can make it happen cause then Dennis can have the money to spend on these expensive commercial ads and have the money to do what he needs to do to get his voice heard. "Hey if you want a traitor for those positions." Yes but a traitor to what, your war criminal cronies or the US Constitution? Who do your war criminal cronies want as the next president?
I'd vote for him but a vote for Kucinich is a vote for Hillary. It's strange how the political process really works its more of a math game than anything else.
Hellooo!!! You misunderstood my point. Just like in the last presidential election, you had GW, vs. Kerry, vs. Nader. Nader swung the election for GW to win. Kucinich is left of center and therefore he'll give the election to Hillary.
lol, well in the first round, he'll make Hillary the nominee. If he runs in the second round as an independent then he'll give the election to Guiliani.
It also looked like Dean would pull it off at this point in the election last time. Obama just came out 4 points ahead of Hillary in Iowa. It is totally up in the air at this point between the top 3 candidates. (then again, at this point last time Kerry was in FOURTH place, so who knows what can happen?)
Why is a vote for Kucinich in the primaries a vote for Hillary? He gets more votes, for having better policy & integrity, then he beats her. If he has the best policies why vote for another candidate, as that, according to your logic, is also just another vote for her. Better to vote for what you want and not get it than vice versa.
and so, the thesis indeed is, all votes for any democratic candidate, except the putative winner, Hillary, are votes for Hillary. Because she will win. Now, what shape have I drawn? Is that the "democracy" that the Iraqis unsurprisingly don't want? Is that what American kids are dying for over there?
I remember being excited about Ron Paul. He aggressively attacted the stupidity of the other Republicans. Then of course, I started watching his clips. He wants to abolish social programs without providing alternatives to prevent mass oppression of our lower and flailing middle classes. You can't raise yourself up by your bootstraps if you're never given the opportunity (or are actively preyed upon by the greedy).
Free-Trade Market...is the way to go, the back-lash is Corporate Imperialism, but that's OK because Defiant ex-employees will set the Pace for We The People...giving a Nice Competition for the Prices to be maintained properly, and LOW..?

The reason Dennis is a better pick than RP is that Dennis is very anti-corporate. The biggest problem we have now is the influence of the corporate sector on the gov't. Dennis would roll that back, enforce antitrust laws, and go to the people to support better election laws. It's not our gov't we need to be worried about, it's the corporations, transnationals, military-industrial complex, etc.
justice: Well, yeah, we need to elect a group of people who will take an adversarial stance against the corporate interests. We need to make it an issue. At the moment, elected reps' incumbencies depend on funding from big corp's. Somehow we've got to stop that.
TheVengeance, could you please list what you think the most important Ron Paul clips are for us? Just the bit after "watch" or the title of each will be fine.
theveng: Thanks, and as you must have guessed by now, the reason you were asked to list some clips is so we kucinich supporters can go spam your RP clips like you're spamming Dennis' clips. Jeez, Dennis is not even a Republican, why waste your time over here???
TheVengeance isn't the only guy doing it. His slogan was just easy to reverse. On just about every DK clip, like this one,you will now see people calling themselves Ron Paul supporters and ridiculing DK. It doesn't make any sense for either camp in the primaries, but it's happening.
I would suggest that you go to the following link, read the statement (the guy is for real - google the site to verify), then watch and LISTEN to the video he links to.
Anyway queny2, you only asked for the links so you could spam there! SHAME! You're hurting Kuchinch's campaign by acting that way.
Perhaps Ron Paul and Kucinich supporters should work together? Or, at least, stop fighting each other. We're already both fighting something much bigger, something evil.
I had hoped you were after info, but you just wanted places to spam. :( Kucinich is a good guy - you should be, too.
Collaboration would be far better among peace candidates, but it either happens or it doesn't. You cannot rule out a reaction of: "Kucinich> Ron Paul" to "Ron Paul > Kucinich" unfair as it may seem to you. Especially since the impeachment potion, I see anti Kucinich Ron Paul spam appearing on just about every one of his clips (eg here) so I guess the co-operation is yet to occur.
OK, sure. There may need to be further dialogue with Ron Paul supporters if there is significant anti-DK spam by people calling themselves Ron Paul supporters on DK clips. Because it's surely in neither groups strategic interest in the primaries. I for one will do so directly in future though, I promise:)
Well actually outside the political arena RP and DK are pretty good friends people. I can't remember the video I saw Ron Paul talking about it, but basically if either should win the presidency then WE all win people and that's the bigger picture.
Best plan I think is to agree not to spam or trashtalk each other, in ANY of our comment sections. Giving or asking for information should be encouraged, imo. I don't think having information is EVER bad. We shouldn't all be closed minded to think either of our candidates are perfect. We need to make the best choices we can.
What would really represent co-operation is giving mutual support in clips in which Kucinich or Paul are not the principle subject and so it is not mainly a DK or RP audience. For example, discussion of foreign policy and war politics, "non mainstream vs. mainstream" candidates, the importance of candidates actual policies, and their consistency in them.
I'd be interested in that, but I would have to learn more about Kucinich first, or I'd be talking out of my ass. I'll check out some more of his vids. :)
dude's i didn't say ANYTHING bad mouthing, or that he's a bad person, etc. i simply said "rp > kucinich", meaning i think paul is better. However, if ron paul can't get elected, which is probably what's gonna happen, kucinich would be the next guy up.
perhaps paul and kucinich should run as independents and steal some votes from the other two parties
No, your comment wasn't badmouthing, but it certainly wasn't very helpful. Not much information contained in that one line. :)
As for running as an independent, Ron Paul has clearly publicly stated that he'd never do that. He's either going to win it as a Republican, or nothing at all.
As a child I volunteered on campaigns. I gave up on electoral politics in 1973, at 14, when Nixon was elected over McGovern. I figured, what's the point? I'm glad Kucinich stuck it out to bring folks like me back in.
justice: If you look a little further into the illegal immigration issue, you'll find they've been welcomed into the country for the last 100 years, with the full knowledge of elected officials (I'm from Texas, so I know). While they're technically "illegal," the only workable reasonable solution (for the ones who are here) is to give them a path to citizenship. It's also the best thing for security.
We have officials "legally" ignoring our laws but its good for our security.
The illegals are welcomed cause they work for cheap dont fool yourself and thinking that out officials are looking out for them cause they are not. Its about CHEAP labor plain and simple. People really want to come here get in line and wait your turn like everyone else.
Can we go to another country "illegally" but legally?. No
justice: mexico's laws have no bearing on this. our economy has been energized for 100 years, while they paid sales taxes, social security with no hope of seeing the money again, property taxes. Many also pay federal income tax. They're not going anywhere, and you might as well get them on the road to citizenship and documented as a way of improving security.
LOL honestly wtf are laws anyways... god this country is fucked up we stand behind laws that dont exist and ignore ones that do. "Many pay Federal Income taxes".. sure and with their 5-6 Dependants its isnt much!! I have worked with illegals and saw how they "cheat our system" dont sit there and tell me that i might as well get used to them, people need to get used to LAWS in this country.
justice: What we need to do is to realize that when we accept the low-cost labor of what has amounted to a slave class, we become intimately connected to their futures. The only way it's going to get _really_ solved is for us to collaborate with mexico to get some business growth there in that country. We need to get them all documented as a security measure. Fences merely drive up smuggling prices, you get more desperation, more danger.
"The only way it's going to get _really_ solved is for us to collaborate with mexico to get some business growth there in that country."
They had it with petroleum and like what we are doing now they spent beyond their means. We helped them out by promising and fulfilling the promise to keep them from going bankrupt...
Let me ask you is any country willing to do that for us? We give them jobs here and gave them money to keep their country afloat but yet it is the United States citizens who suffer.
If you break the law you are held accountable.
Granting Amnesty is not holding people accountable it is a slap on the wrist and a dont do it again type solution.
Send them back and let them file for citizenship like everyone else.
just: the problem of the homeless is very very different. These are often people who don't know how to get themselves out of their situation. Many have sort of lost their "contingencies," i.e., they don't believe anything they do will have any effect on their circumstances. However, in some cases, who knows, if given free housing and transportation to work, you could have something there.
just: Others willingness is based on ability -we're the most powerful economic engine. A get-tough policy against those who have been here for a long while, and have worked hard seeking the American dream, won't work, and most people don't want that.
just: Well, we probably need to do something similar to what that Nobel winner did--micro loans, etc. Development is tricky, but some sort of experiment would be worth it instead of continuing the same divisive and unworkable policies.
justice: I just gave you the facts on the ground. The real issues are simple. They came because we wanted them to come, the reason is unimportant. We collaborated every step of the way, and enjoyed the cheap prices while they helped energize the economy. It is extremely hypocritical to then turn around and say, "omigod, we have illegals here? who knew?"
The reason "we" broke laws is unimportant. Just wow. And before you continue on your "we collaborated every step of the way and enjoyed the cheap prices", You are condoning basically slavery for starters and millions of Americans have been fighting this for DECADES so please dont try to make it sound like EVERYONE was in on this cause that is so far from "facts"
just: I'm in fact directly NOT condoning slavery, I'm giving the history. What we need is an insistence on paying a living wage, and good working conditions, so Americans will do that work, then there's less excuse for hiring illegals, there won't be jobs for them, coz those jobs will be filled by citizens. Let's get people who've been here on their way to documenting them. If it's comprehensive, and involves reforming the corporate culture, it should discourage further walks across the border.
It almost looked OK to suggest Republicans could support him, but now Ron Paul supporters are spamming Kucinich clips with criticism, even that should be off the table. I imagine there are a LOT of Ron Paul clip viewers who don't understand all his policies, and if they did would prefer Kucinich.
Yep. That was me. I thought Paul was pretty cool with talking about the corrupt Fed Bank and voting against the war. I was so disappointed to learn the dark side - then I found out Dennis is also against those things AND cares about the environment AND campaign finance reform, and doesn't support big oil, tax cuts for the wealthy, and weakened regulations. To think I almost missed him.
Free-Trade Market...is the way to go, the back-lash is Corporate Imperialism, but that's OK because Defiant ex-employees will set the Pace for We The People...giving a Nice Competition for the Prices to be maintained properly, and LOW..?
bryco: If you, for example, bust up a too-large company, then you create new smaller corporate entities, and thus new jobs for people, so it's a good thing in that way.
Bryco, the dark is proposing we sell public land to corporations because they wouldn't pollute it; OKing every tax cut for the rich and for oil companies; wanting to shut down our regulatory bodies on pollution, food safety, worker safety, etc.; claiming we should rely on charity rather than social programs, poor neighborhoods have more crime because they can't afford guns, we should get health care by working at corporations -- Freedom? This guy wants us to depend on corporations and the rich.
Yeah, Nick, I've watched him speak against the Fed Bank being private and secret. He also walks around with a copy of the Constitution. What sets these two apart is that Kucinich understands that you can no more trust corporations with the public welfare than you can with our federal money. You have to regulate for the public interest.
tgr: Well, I think the fed is okay. I know people are suspicious of it, but I've read about it, plus I've watched Greenspan being interviewed, and I believe he's a good person (altho' I believes he gives his opinion on stuff he doesn't know about).
Greenspan plays the hero and screws the common man. I've watched him do it several times while people around him were pointing out that he needed to use his lending authority and leave interest rates alone. It was so clear what he was engineering and how it would slam the middle class - first he did it with stocks and margins, then with housing loans. If this man understands half the things he says, he is unscrupulous.
tgr: In some cases, to stabilize the economy, things will be done that end up being bad for the poor or middle class. The housing loan thing was not the fed's fault. The fed cannot oversee the consequences of its moves, that's up to other areas of the gov't. Someone is charged with avoiding, e.g., horrible subprime loans, and they dropped the ball.
Nick, the Fed Bank has direct control over many lending laws and where it doesn't it has tremendous influence. They allowed the national banks exemption from state predatory lending laws in 2004, when there was already a growing housing bubble. All 50 state attorneys general opposed the rules, which were passed without congressional approval.
tgr: I believe you're talking about the Ofc of the Comptrollelr of the Currency (a div of the treasury dept), but even there, it's a reach. The real culprit is the FTC, charged with overseeing deceptive trade practices. We gotta face the problems where they are, the fed merely does its thing.
Nick, yes, the FTC, congress, others are to blame also. But, don't underestimate Greenspan's influence -- many called him the most powerful man in the world. The OCC cited statements by Greenspan as justification for that act, and I don't think he ever protested. He also convinced people our economy was stable because of the housing boom and encouraged them to take ARMs right before he raised rates. I was telling my friends DON'T do it. If I saw it coming, he sure saw it coming.
tgr: I'm not saying you're wrong here, but do you have some sources on some of that? He might well have thought the economy was stable if he didn't know about the subprime thing coming. Merely because you saw something coming doesn't mean anyone else saw it coming, even Greenspan.
Nick, sorry, I don't want to go look for sources right now. Sometimes I do, but I spend hours and hours finding sources for people. Many, many people saw this coming. Just like when he strangled the stock market with high interest rates instead of lowering margins; experts all around him were telling him he was going to slam the middle class. He knows these things - he doesn't care. It all adjusts the wealth upward to him and his pals. He cries crocodile tears afterwards.
tgr: If he had lowered margins, that would have encouraged speculation, which creates more inflation. If the fed raises interest rates or margin requirements, it is in the service of reducing the possibility of inflation, which is horrible for middle and lower income-earners in the economy. OF course, business people don't like higher rates, so they gripe about it.
Nick, I'm talking about the margins that were being allowed were too big. It was obvious they were too big, allowing people to borrow huge sums of money, ballooning the market and putting people's stocks at tremendous risk they didn't understand. Many people urged Greenspan to lower those margins, but instead he deliberately crashed the market, knowing the resulting margin calls would be devastating.
tgr: Certainly anyone is capable of misjudgment. However, I doubt there is any evidence that Greenspan "deliberately crashed the market." You're suggesting he allowed low margin requirements and then raised interest rates to cause damage to the markets? In fact, I'm sure if he had raised margin requirements, _all_ speculators would have screamed--buying stock on margin has traditionally been something speculators have done. Anyway, I'm quite positive that Greenspan did nothing on purpose.
Nick, there were no requirements I was aware of. Where I was buying it was an automatic loan equal to 50% of your assets. I was shocked it was so much, and I soon learned I wasn't the only one who thought that was wrong. If the value of your assets dropped too low, they'd sell your stocks for you. It was a frightening temptation that made gambling look tame.
When Greenspan started jacking up the interest rates to slow the market, people told him to use his authority to lower the margins instead, but he refused. When he brought the market to its knees, he kept the rates up until everyone in the country was telling him, OK, enough! It was like watching a cop strangle someone until they stopped wiggling.
tgr: If Greenspan was already jacking up interest rates, why would requiring customers to put up more of their own money for purchase of stocks done anything for them? This doesn't make sense to me. Also, slowing the market basically hurts _all_ investors, speculators, anyone who is betting on a rising market, no one is conspiring against any particular group.
Nick, if you are really 21, that explains why you don't realize how things really work. People conspire against groups constantly where money is involved. You, unfortunately, will come to see business doesn't work the way they present it in colleges. It's not a logical endeavor, it's about egos, deceit, threats, forcing bankruptcy through delayed payments - it's not an anomaly that we live in a world of rape, murder, and wars. There's a reason for it.
tgr: oops, tilt. Any type of invocation of age or other status is a loser of an argument. If you can't point to at least some source, shut your face, baby.
Mind if I continue, and then to finish off the job, he gave in to the people demanding low interest rates, and cut them into the ground, effectively switching from a slow strangling of the economy to effectively beating the economy to death while it's already hardly breathing in an attempt at "I told you so."
Don't people ever know how to use a light hand when dealing with the economy?
ruedix: I can't tell if you are answering something I said. As I have explained above, any damn fool can second-guess the fed. Your error is in seeing some sort of planned harm of some kind. Every time the fed does _anything_, someone _somewhere_ is harmed. Don't take it personally, lol. And if you want people to quit speculating based on low interest rates, contact the damn Federal Trade Commission!!
Stay strong Dennis! I am voting for you all the way...Stay in the race till the end.. If you don't stay true to your heart, your heart never wins.

Obviously that was the best that you can do.
Well, at eighteen you have not yet control of the reasoning lobes. They don't develop until the age of twenty two to twenty five. This is supposed to be about Dennis Kucinich. A line of commentary regarding him. Shame it becomes nothing more than a place where some look to pitch battles.

Yeah, ruedix. That's exactly what I mean. I should have been more specific. THE BIG GUYS. They're the ones who have had the biggest impact on domestic and international decisions. Ron Paul & Dennis Kucinich are the only two people that seem sincere about helping normal people. I know they're views are different on many things ... but can you imagine a Republican and a Democrat running together ... that has go to be the ultimate nightmare scenario for the big two parties
jeffrosati 4 years ago
Nah, it their ultimate dream, cuz they would just draw votes away from the more liberal candidate. Besides, if you're pro-choice, then why would you vote for RP?
kr4m 4 years ago
I'm pro-choice, but I'm also pro-constitution, so I will be voting for Ron Paul. If Paul drops out, I will be voting for DK.
Roe v. Wade is unconstitutional, abortion is a state's rights issue (see article I section 8 of the Constitution and the 10th amendment). I you want to guarantee a woman's right to choose (federally), you must amend the Constitution.
CounterRevolutionary 4 years ago
You are right. Only women living in the correct states deserve the right to control their own bodies. Thanks for the super specific constitutional citing. I guess "or to the people" doesn't apply to Row v Wade.
kr4m 4 years ago
Let's start a movement to create the 28th Amendment: "The right of a woman to have an abortion shall not be infringed by the individual states, but rather guaranteed to all citizens of the United States of America."
There's a right way and a wrong way to do things, and circumventing the Constitution is the wrong way; it has lead to the mess that we are in now.
CounterRevolutionary 4 years ago
The right of a human being - yes, even a woman - to have control over his/her own body is NOT a state's right issue any more than slavery is a state's right issue. Forcing women through unwanted pregnancy and childbirth in ANY state is a violation of basic human rights.
EsoterikGirl 4 years ago 3
I agree, let's ammend the Constitution, because right now it is a state's right issue (according to the Constitution, Article I section 8 & 10th Ammendment). If we let them ignore the Constitution on this issue, it makes it easier to ignore it on other issues (slippery slope argument).

The reason Dennis is a better pick than RP is that Dennis is very anti-corporate. The biggest problem we have now is the influence of the corporate sector on the gov't. Dennis would roll that back, enforce antitrust laws, and go to the people to support better election laws. It's not our gov't we need to be worried about, it's the corporations, transnationals, military-industrial complex, etc.
nicholas9999 4 years ago 3
Yea well if we had a government with real honor and balls the corporations would be held in check but we dont, so THATS where our problem is.

TheVengeance isn't the only guy doing it. His slogan was just easy to reverse. On just about every DK clip, like this one,you will now see people calling themselves Ron Paul supporters and ridiculing DK. It doesn't make any sense for either camp in the primaries, but it's happening.

Anyway queny2, you only asked for the links so you could spam there! SHAME! You're hurting Kuchinch's campaign by acting that way.
Perhaps Ron Paul and Kucinich supporters should work together? Or, at least, stop fighting each other. We're already both fighting something much bigger, something evil.

drutter 4 years ago 2
drutter: That's actually a good idea.
nicholas9999 4 years ago
Collaboration would be far better among peace candidates, but it either happens or it doesn't. You cannot rule out a reaction of: "Kucinich> Ron Paul" to "Ron Paul > Kucinich" unfair as it may seem to you. Especially since the impeachment potion, I see anti Kucinich Ron Paul spam appearing on just about every one of his clips (eg here) so I guess the co-operation is yet to occur.
queny2 4 years ago
It certainly won't occur if you react to problems by retaliating. :)
I'll learn more about Kucinich as I learn more about my man Ron Paul, and I'll support as I see fit.
I promise I won't leave any spam on any Kucinich videos and apologize for those who have. I really don't think it's each other we have to fear.
drutter 4 years ago 2
OK, sure. There may need to be further dialogue with Ron Paul supporters if there is significant anti-DK spam by people calling themselves Ron Paul supporters on DK clips. Because it's surely in neither groups strategic interest in the primaries. I for one will do so directly in future though, I promise:)
queny2 4 years ago
Well actually outside the political arena RP and DK are pretty good friends people. I can't remember the video I saw Ron Paul talking about it, but basically if either should win the presidency then WE all win people and that's the bigger picture.
bigceez4 4 years ago
Cool.
Best plan I think is to agree not to spam or trashtalk each other, in ANY of our comment sections. Giving or asking for information should be encouraged, imo. I don't think having information is EVER bad. We shouldn't all be closed minded to think either of our candidates are perfect. We need to make the best choices we can.
drutter 4 years ago
What would really represent co-operation is giving mutual support in clips in which Kucinich or Paul are not the principle subject and so it is not mainly a DK or RP audience. For example, discussion of foreign policy and war politics, "non mainstream vs. mainstream" candidates, the importance of candidates actual policies, and their consistency in them.
queny2 4 years ago
I'd be interested in that, but I would have to learn more about Kucinich first, or I'd be talking out of my ass. I'll check out some more of his vids. :)
drutter 4 years ago
dude's i didn't say ANYTHING bad mouthing, or that he's a bad person, etc. i simply said "rp > kucinich", meaning i think paul is better. However, if ron paul can't get elected, which is probably what's gonna happen, kucinich would be the next guy up.
perhaps paul and kucinich should run as independents and steal some votes from the other two parties
TheVengeance 4 years ago
No, your comment wasn't badmouthing, but it certainly wasn't very helpful. Not much information contained in that one line. :)
As for running as an independent, Ron Paul has clearly publicly stated that he'd never do that. He's either going to win it as a Republican, or nothing at all.
But he'll win. He's got to! :)
GO RON PAUL! (... and Kucinich.. hehe)

justice: If you look a little further into the illegal immigration issue, you'll find they've been welcomed into the country for the last 100 years, with the full knowledge of elected officials (I'm from Texas, so I know). While they're technically "illegal," the only workable reasonable solution (for the ones who are here) is to give them a path to citizenship. It's also the best thing for security.
nicholas9999 4 years ago
will you please listen to what you are saying..
No
JusticePetitioner 4 years ago
In Mexico, it is a felony with a 2 year sentence...no parole if you are caught crossing the border..
Now how ironic is that that Mexico has stricter laws regarding "illegals" then the United States.
Our economy can not handle all these people who DO NOT BELONG HERE and you now want to make sure they all health care too..
Isnt it nice people who dont pay taxes can get free health care but people who have worked here all their lives cant get medicine they need.
yea seems fair to me.
JusticePetitioner 4 years ago
justice: mexico's laws have no bearing on this. our economy has been energized for 100 years, while they paid sales taxes, social security with no hope of seeing the money again, property taxes. Many also pay federal income tax. They're not going anywhere, and you might as well get them on the road to citizenship and documented as a way of improving security.
nicholas9999 4 years ago
LOL honestly wtf are laws anyways... god this country is fucked up we stand behind laws that dont exist and ignore ones that do. "Many pay Federal Income taxes".. sure and with their 5-6 Dependants its isnt much!! I have worked with illegals and saw how they "cheat our system" dont sit there and tell me that i might as well get used to them, people need to get used to LAWS in this country.
JusticePetitioner 4 years ago
justice: What we need to do is to realize that when we accept the low-cost labor of what has amounted to a slave class, we become intimately connected to their futures. The only way it's going to get _really_ solved is for us to collaborate with mexico to get some business growth there in that country. We need to get them all documented as a security measure. Fences merely drive up smuggling prices, you get more desperation, more danger.
nicholas9999 4 years ago
"The only way it's going to get _really_ solved is for us to collaborate with mexico to get some business growth there in that country."
They had it with petroleum and like what we are doing now they spent beyond their means. We helped them out by promising and fulfilling the promise to keep them from going bankrupt...
JusticePetitioner 4 years ago
Let me ask you is any country willing to do that for us? We give them jobs here and gave them money to keep their country afloat but yet it is the United States citizens who suffer.
If you break the law you are held accountable.
Granting Amnesty is not holding people accountable it is a slap on the wrist and a dont do it again type solution.
Send them back and let them file for citizenship like everyone else.

I am sure the millions of homeless people in our country will gladly fill in the positions of these illegals.
JusticePetitioner 4 years ago
just: the problem of the homeless is very very different. These are often people who don't know how to get themselves out of their situation. Many have sort of lost their "contingencies," i.e., they don't believe anything they do will have any effect on their circumstances. However, in some cases, who knows, if given free housing and transportation to work, you could have something there.
nicholas9999 4 years ago
just: Others willingness is based on ability -we're the most powerful economic engine. A get-tough policy against those who have been here for a long while, and have worked hard seeking the American dream, won't work, and most people don't want that.
nicholas9999 4 years ago
just: Well, we probably need to do something similar to what that Nobel winner did--micro loans, etc. Development is tricky, but some sort of experiment would be worth it instead of continuing the same divisive and unworkable policies.
nicholas9999 4 years ago
justice: I just gave you the facts on the ground. The real issues are simple. They came because we wanted them to come, the reason is unimportant. We collaborated every step of the way, and enjoyed the cheap prices while they helped energize the economy. It is extremely hypocritical to then turn around and say, "omigod, we have illegals here? who knew?"
nicholas9999 4 years ago
The reason "we" broke laws is unimportant. Just wow. And before you continue on your "we collaborated every step of the way and enjoyed the cheap prices", You are condoning basically slavery for starters and millions of Americans have been fighting this for DECADES so please dont try to make it sound like EVERYONE was in on this cause that is so far from "facts"
JusticePetitioner 4 years ago
just: I'm in fact directly NOT condoning slavery, I'm giving the history.

Ron Paul 08!
ddnn2000 4 years ago
It almost looked OK to suggest Republicans could support him, but now Ron Paul supporters are spamming Kucinich clips with criticism, even that should be off the table. I imagine there are a LOT of Ron Paul clip viewers who don't understand all his policies, and if they did would prefer Kucinich.
queny2 4 years ago

WHAT'S THE DARK SIDE?
BrycoMedia 4 years ago
Free-Trade Market...is the way to go, the back-lash is Corporate Imperialism, but that's OK because Defiant ex-employees will set the Pace for We The People...giving a Nice Competition for the Prices to be maintained properly, and LOW..?
BrycoMedia 4 years ago
bry: When you say, "defiant ex-employees," not sure what you're referring to.
nicholas9999 4 years ago
Possibly Former Employees...of the big Business, that is imperial or Monopolizing
BrycoMedia 4 years ago
bryco: If you, for example, bust up a too-large company, then you create new smaller corporate entities, and thus new jobs for people, so it's a good thing in that way.
nicholas9999 4 years ago 2
YES...David beats Goliath.
Free-Market creates and maintains LOW Prices, once somebody gets to big they either Merge or Compete with them.
BrycoMedia 4 years ago
Bryco, the dark is proposing we sell public land to corporations because they wouldn't pollute it; OKing every tax cut for the rich and for oil companies; wanting to shut down our regulatory bodies on pollution, food safety, worker safety, etc.; claiming we should rely on charity rather than social programs, poor neighborhoods have more crime because they can't afford guns, we should get health care by working at corporations -- Freedom? This guy wants us to depend on corporations and the rich.
TheGiantRobot 4 years ago
I believe in a regulated Free-Market, making sure that these companies obey the LAW...that We The People create.
This is a Complicated issue, social programs need to be maintained right and don't be abused.

tgr: are you sure dennis is against the fed??
nicholas9999 4 years ago
Yeah, Nick, I've watched him speak against the Fed Bank being private and secret. He also walks around with a copy of the Constitution. What sets these two apart is that Kucinich understands that you can no more trust corporations with the public welfare than you can with our federal money. You have to regulate for the public interest.
TheGiantRobot 4 years ago
tgr: Well, I think the fed is okay. I know people are suspicious of it, but I've read about it, plus I've watched Greenspan being interviewed, and I believe he's a good person (altho' I believes he gives his opinion on stuff he doesn't know about).
nicholas9999 4 years ago
Greenspan plays the hero and screws the common man. I've watched him do it several times while people around him were pointing out that he needed to use his lending authority and leave interest rates alone. It was so clear what he was engineering and how it would slam the middle class - first he did it with stocks and margins, then with housing loans. If this man understands half the things he says, he is unscrupulous.
TheGiantRobot 4 years ago
tgr: In some cases, to stabilize the economy, things will be done that end up being bad for the poor or middle class. The housing loan thing was not the fed's fault. The fed cannot oversee the consequences of its moves, that's up to other areas of the gov't. Someone is charged with avoiding, e.g., horrible subprime loans, and they dropped the ball.
nicholas9999 4 years ago
Nick, the Fed Bank has direct control over many lending laws and where it doesn't it has tremendous influence. They allowed the national banks exemption from state predatory lending laws in 2004, when there was already a growing housing bubble. All 50 state attorneys general opposed the rules, which were passed without congressional approval.
TheGiantRobot 4 years ago
tgr: I believe you're talking about the Ofc of the Comptrollelr of the Currency (a div of the treasury dept), but even there, it's a reach. The real culprit is the FTC, charged with overseeing deceptive trade practices. We gotta face the problems where they are, the fed merely does its thing.
nicholas9999 4 years ago
Nick, yes, the FTC, congress, others are to blame also. But, don't underestimate Greenspan's influence -- many called him the most powerful man in the world. The OCC cited statements by Greenspan as justification for that act, and I don't think he ever protested. He also convinced people our economy was stable because of the housing boom and encouraged them to take ARMs right before he raised rates. I was telling my friends DON'T do it. If I saw it coming, he sure saw it coming.
TheGiantRobot 4 years ago
tgr: I'm not saying you're wrong here, but do you have some sources on some of that? He might well have thought the economy was stable if he didn't know about the subprime thing coming. Merely because you saw something coming doesn't mean anyone else saw it coming, even Greenspan.
nicholas9999 4 years ago
Nick, sorry, I don't want to go look for sources right now. Sometimes I do, but I spend hours and hours finding sources for people. Many, many people saw this coming. Just like when he strangled the stock market with high interest rates instead of lowering margins; experts all around him were telling him he was going to slam the middle class. He knows these things - he doesn't care. It all adjusts the wealth upward to him and his pals. He cries crocodile tears afterwards.
TheGiantRobot 4 years ago
tgr: If he had lowered margins, that would have encouraged speculation, which creates more inflation. If the fed raises interest rates or margin requirements, it is in the service of reducing the possibility of inflation, which is horrible for middle and lower income-earners in the economy. OF course, business people don't like higher rates, so they gripe about it.
nicholas9999 4 years ago
Nick, I'm talking about the margins that were being allowed were too big. It was obvious they were too big, allowing people to borrow huge sums of money, ballooning the market and putting people's stocks at tremendous risk they didn't understand. Many people urged Greenspan to lower those margins, but instead he deliberately crashed the market, knowing the resulting margin calls would be devastating.
TheGiantRobot 4 years ago
tgr: Certainly anyone is capable of misjudgment. Anyway, I'm quite positive that Greenspan did nothing on purpose.
nicholas9999 4 years ago
Nick, there were no requirements I was aware of. Where I was buying it was an automatic loan equal to 50% of your assets. I was shocked it was so much, and I soon learned I wasn't the only one who thought that was wrong. If the value of your assets dropped too low, they'd sell your stocks for you. It was a frightening temptation that made gambling look tame.
TheGiantRobot 4 years ago
When Greenspan started jacking up the interest rates to slow the market, people told him to use his authority to lower the margins instead, but he refused. When he brought the market to its knees, he kept the rates up until everyone in the country was telling him, OK, enough! It was like watching a cop strangle someone until they stopped wiggling.
TheGiantRobot 4 years ago
tgr: If Greenspan was already jacking up interest rates, why would requiring customers to put up more of their own money for purchase of stocks done anything for them? This doesn't make sense to me. Also, slowing the market basically hurts _all_ investors, speculators, anyone who is betting on a rising market, no one is conspiring against any particular group.
nicholas9999 4 years ago
Nick, if you are really 21, that explains why you don't realize how things really work. People conspire against groups constantly where money is involved. You, unfortunately, will come to see business doesn't work the way they present it in colleges. It's not a logical endeavor, it's about egos, deceit, threats, forcing bankruptcy through delayed payments - it's not an anomaly that we live in a world of rape, murder, and wars. There's a reason for it.
TheGiantRobot 4 years ago
tgr: oops, tilt. Any type of invocation of age or other status is a loser of an argument. If you can't point to at least some source, shut your face, baby.
nicholas9999 4 years ago
Mind if I continue, and then to finish off the job, he gave in to the people demanding low interest rates, and cut them into the ground, effectively switching from a slow strangling of the economy to effectively beating the economy to death while it's already hardly breathing in an attempt at "I told you so."
Don't people ever know how to use a light hand when dealing with the economy?
ruediix 4 years ago
ruedix: I can't tell if you are answering something I said.
